Really like this QB , bright future imo

Texas A&M QB Zach Calzada is in the transfer portal

Wow, Bama bound?  Beat them then join them?  I thought he'd be on the Jimbo train trying to start a new SEC dynasty.

I'm 100% guilty of posting about Parsons during the game but when 99% of the games you watch are Eagles games and absolutely no one on defense stands out and then you watch a Cowboys game and you see Parsons jump off the screen, it's easy to see why the hype is there for the guy.  There was a stretch of 3-4 drives where he made huge impact plays.  The Eagles haven't had a defender like him since Brian Dawkins and I'd say a LB/rush defender is more impactful than a safety.  Please, no one take that as me saying Parsons is better than Dawkins.

Yes, Parsons has a lot to prove still but goodness does it suck to know that not only the Eagles have no one near his talent level but he's also playing for the Cowboys.  It just sucks.

And if we had not drafted JJAWful, Reagor, and all the other bums at WR, we would not have had to address it again, and could have drafted an impact player like Parsons last year.

If Wentz was still here and they ran the ball as efficiently as they have, we be at 9 or 10 wins.

I think they likely beat giants and SF earlier this season to be 8-5 at this point. However i also think they’d win the next 3 cause Washington’s offense has still been mediocre to bad during their win streak. They’ve regressed each week. They scored 29 against tampa then 27 then 17 then 17 and yesterday had 14 (on offense). The last 3 weeks they are averaging 16ppg on offense. The giants are awful. They very well probably sweep both Washington and the giants this year with him.

Gotta say I kinda like this transfer portal thing.  However, I worry that in the future some of these kids will go full Lebron James and try to get the best players in college football to team up together and create a super team.

This transfer portal ish is out of control.

I really don't like it.  It's basically free agency now.

Yea but that future first man…could make it all better.  I’m feeling a ~4 sack per year DE that just defends the run so well and gets lots of pressures which are more important than sacks anyway.

I feel like in a year that has some good depth at DE the team makes a reach at DT.  So guy with limited upside in terms of pass rush and injury problems seems the way to go.

I like grad transfers but I don't like this.  Your scenario is going to happen.  With NIL and the ability to transfer with no penalty of waiting a year it's creating a whole new college football landscape.

I think eventually they will have to create limitations of some sort.

You can argue Alabama's been doing it for the last 10 years.

Saban says that one of his best recruiting moves is to brag about the kids who are already committed.

You show up to play for a coach you trust, in a system that fits you and then he leaves for a better job but you should stay, get benched cause the new coach doesnt need you?

Coaching changes have happened or a century across the college football landscape.

These kids got to do what's best for them and get to the NFL.   I get that and can't blame them.

College football is basically a business and has been.  The kids are treating it as such too instead of a chance to play sports and get an education for free.  Nobody cares about the education part anymore.

This is where I'm a stick in the mud kind of guy.  If you're good enough to get in the NFL in 2021, scouts will find you.  I still like the idea of a student-athlete.  I get it, my way of thinking is a thing of the past and you're right it's a business but I don't like it.  I'm and old school, traditionalist who believes in commitment.  We aren't talking about backup quarterbacks not getting a chance to play all the time now, we're talking about starting quarterbacks, starting players.

Can we send Hurts to the transfer portal?

Reagor definitely entering the transfer portal. JJAW on his Mary popping umbrella likely too.

It looks like the bye week was good for our draft positioning, at least according to the TDN simulator. Last week our first picks were 13th and 14th. Now its 10th and 11th. I was able to put us in the super bowl.

If Hurts is anything less than 99% we should start Minshew.

In fact, even if Hurts is 100%  I think Minshew gives us a better chance to win

That might be why Hurts is starting. Unless the Nova Care brain trust really thinks they can make some noise in the playoffs they might prefer to see what Hurts can do in the next 4 games and not worry about being in the playoffs being probably one and done.

I feel like if the Colts can beat NE this Saturday it might jump start them on a run to the SB.

Imagine a Colts-Cowboys SB?  Dak vs Wentz.  Would be intriguing to say the least.

Please Howie, offer 2-3 1st rounders for Lawrence just to see if they bite.

To make the playoffs imo the colts need to win one of the next two games vs. NE or at Arizona. I don’t see them getting into the playoffs going 2-2 down the stretch. That would make them 9-8. Bills are 7-6 with Carolina, NE, falcons and jets so likely 3-1 makes them 10-7. Browns are 7-6 got Vegas, at Gb, at Steelers and bengals. 2-2 is possible but i see them beating Vegas, Steelers so don’t want to come down to a tiebreaker. Bengals have at Denver, Baltimore (maybe without lamar), KC and at Cleveland. Would likely be another tiebreaker between them if they both go 2-2. Frankly could see bengals going 3-1 or 1-3 in this stretch. Chargers finish up with KC, houston, Denver and Vegas. They likely are gonna be the 5 seed.

XFL?

‘Tis the season for practice squad poaching.  Wonder who the Eagles might protect and who they might poach. Surprised we haven’t seen Stevens moved up with Taylor out.

Not really even close.  Cunningham never got close.  Vick never got close.  Lamar Jackson hasn't gotten close.  Defenses will shut down the running lanes at playoff time.

Russell Wilson and Steve Young are the closest resemblances of "running QBs" who have won championships -- and they're passers first.

Vick got pretty close that one year -- NFC Championship in 2004 (I think it was) seems close enough for me. Of course the Eagles D that year wrote the book on shutting down 'athletic' quarterbacks.

Unfortunately Meyer isn't in control of the personnel. And Khan has repeatedly said how much he loves Lawrence. He's not going anywhere, unfortunately.

So If you're a pro style QB and your coach just left for more money you would stay and play in a wishbone offence because its the right thing to do lol. What clown

Better yet, your a pro style qb, the new coach brings his own qb who runs a better wishbone then you and you sit the bench, lose out on NFL chances because your coach, and the guy who originally recruited you left for more money

What a Ftard.

I mean, I don't care about what you're arguing about specifically. But you always resort to hyperbole (in this case, the wishbone offense) when you argue. Why?

1 minute ago, 4for4EaglesNest said:

Because he’s clueless.  He thinks thousands of players are transferring from OU because of Riley leaving.  And he thinks the wishbone is a real thing at those big programs where those thousands are transferring from.

Didn't he claim to not watch/like college football as well?
