It was an empty net goal, but I’ll take the stat boost anyway.

So why did we expand practice squad rosters??

What happens if the players still test positive?  They're supposed to have 2 negative tests 24 hours apart to be eligible to play.

That’s what hospitals do.

Out here they still take temperature and rapid test before shift. I have 3 friends who work as either a nurse, NP and doctor that talk about it all the time (haven’t talked to them since around thanksgiving). Mainly because even if you’re asymptomatic they don’t want you working and potentially it gets spread type event around the hospital. And everyone who works in the hospital out here has to be vaccinated. Maybe your hospitals are. Out here it’s not unless it’s been changed fairly recently. I mean in the last month.

I can tell you in Oakland my sister had to go to the hospital for not illness (Covid or flu) related. they made her stand outside with a nurse going on shift and take a rapid test before going into the hospital and they were both vaccinated. They also made her (not the nurse) take a flu test.

I don't get upset with those who don't want to wear masks and not get vaccinated.

I just don't want to pay their medical bills.

But i won't forget to put roses on their graves.

You’ll likely be dead before them, but if thats your philosophy better not use medicare. We have no interest in paying your medical bills.

I’m not aware of many hospitals that allow you to work without vaccination.  Outside of designated COVID units and ER, I’m not aware of any hospital departments anywhere that administer widespread surveillance rapid testing in asymptomatic individuals, unless the individual requests it.

Yeah COVID is here to stay. The Vaccines dont stop you from getting it or passing it along, only reduces its potency. So no hope of ever containing it. Short of a new treatment and or vaccine to eradicate it, it is just a part of life.

We can Likely thank those who play around with ramping up viruses from animals to jump to humans. Any other blaming or finger pointing is misplaced anger.

Yeah every hospital out here makes you be vaccinated. Most doctors offices don’t have to be but recommended that working in the medical field you get vaccinated. And likely soon to make everyone in a medical office get vaccinated. I’m just telling you around Thanksgiving they were still getting rapid test before their shifts and temp check.

Frankly the NFL has the money and ability with rapid testing to make sure. Even if they’re vaccinated and asymptomatic they can still spread Covid. Imo asymptomatic or symptomatic and vaccinated/not vaccinated the nfl should be testing them to try and prevent as best they can a bigger spread event and protect some of the players

The NFL probably surely has the money. But, its really, really expensive. My school is surveilance testing each of our basketball athletes at 8 different points throughout the season. Thats about 50 kids, X 8 tests and its somewhere around (I believe over) $40,000.

Imagine the price tag for the NFL to do all team personnel every week.

Although, we are doing PCR sent to a lab and getting test results back by the next morning in time to stop any positives from showing up to school. Rapid tests would be cheaper. But less effective as well.

I don’t think eradicating Covid was ever the most realistic goal especially not within two years of covid 19 exploding on to the scene. They’re some other coronaviruses we’ve been studying for years and still haven’t eradicated them. We have had success with some diseases and illnesses where we have basically eradicated it. You hope with more technology at our disposal today we can eventually get there. I’m doubting we get to that point with Covid

Agree, but we are being sold, that the only thing stopping us from ending the outbreak is the anti vaxxers, and if everyone would just be vaccinated then this would end, and thats just patently false.

I am vaxxed. I also know this crap is not going away anytime soon. Thats why I am about freedom of choice at this point. Go do you. If you dont feel safe, stay home lock yourself in.  It isn't the anti Covid Vaccine people causing this issue.

It’s definitely expensive for the nfl. I’m not gonna argue that.

I kind of think the NFL is coming out with some sort of Covid fee where it’s likely not called that but it’s put towards paying for the extra money they have to spend on Covid restrictions and testing. Who pays the burden of that fee is going to be interesting.

Is the nfl doing rapid test or PCR? I just assumed  (probably shouldn’t have assumed) they were doing rapid tests unless someone tested positive then PCR

I am also vaccinated. I agree. That’s why I am for freedom of choice. If you don’t want to be vaccinated go ahead and not be vaccinated.  That is the risk and choice you made. understand the consequences of your choice. I don’t hate anybody more or less if that’s the choice they wanna make. That’s what’s best for them.

The two things that bother me the most in all this are the group of unvaccinated people not understanding why a vaccine is important to help hospitals out and their own health. And are doing it as the government is trying to control them. And then there’s some vaccinated people who think they’re invincible because they got the vaccine.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on eggnog? I really had never tried it up until a couple years ago and now I love it. Especially if I can get a good eggnog latte at a coffee shop in town. Not like Starbucks but an actual local coffee shop that doesn’t use the artificial crap eggnog

Also, Tyree Jackson.   The Eagles have QBs.

He’d throw it better than Hurts too.

Tyree Jackson DOES have a huge arm,  regularly threw 55-60 yard TD passes in college.

yep.

I wish we experimented with him at QB instead of Hurts.

The worst part of it is that it puts the Eagles at a disadvantage next week with far less recovery time and it punishes the Eagles for WFT not being more careful with the protocol.

Actually it's a day more recovery time than teams get when they play on Thursday after a Sunday.   The NFLPA doesn't seem to care about that, so this is what the bed they've made and have caved on Thursdays for a bigger salary cap number.   This is all the same at the heart of it.  Put player safety at risk for the almighty dollar.  The NFLPA is compliant with it, so the players have no one to blame but themselves.
