Want to know something scary? Jalen Hurts is a more mobile, less accurate Daniel Jones and there are people who legitimately think he's doing a good job.

Don't believe me? Look at their numbers.

If we go by this year, in terms of passing, they're almost identical.

If we go by rookie seasons (well, first 16 games) Jones blows him out of the water.

Carolina is doing some interesting stuff in the kicking game today.

Buffalo is going to win this game.

Man, you're really not a fan of Hurts are you? Every time I see you post, it's about something negative Hurts related.

But don't worry, you have a max 5 games of him left and then it's on to whoever they trade for in 2022.

Nope, I'm not.

He's pretty hated. I for one cannot stand him

This has to be the worst slate of early games ever.

I get not being a fan, I'm not a fan of Ganon and some other Eagles, but DAMN. It's obsessively all-consuming at some point.

People are confused why the most scrutinized and discussed player on the team is the starting QB.

Idk which game to watch on the ticket. I'll probably choose Tenn/Pitt

The Giants are a trashfire of an organization.

They have to be trolling people... right?   I mean, a fountain soda costs less than the cup they put it in.

I don't get the hate part. I got why people hated Vick or might hate Watson if we get him.

Hurts is just not a good QB who will be replaced as soon as the off-season begins. He is worthy of criticism and calls for benching for sure. Hate is way over the top, but I guess that's where society is now.

They are going to have to go back in the bubble at this point.

No point.  This omicrom spreading through with its extreme mildness is blanketing these leagues with a fresh new dose of immunity going forward.

Again, the narrative of "hate” is what’s over the top.

The starting QB position for any franchise is the most important and scrutinized position in sports, because teams normally have minimal chance of success without strong play there.  Every QB faces scrutiny when he’s not playing well, and every team’s circumstances are uniquely its own.  The Eagles have a first-year NFL head coach from the offensive side of the ball, and his success hinges on the ability of the QB to operate the coach’s system.

This coaching staff can’t succeed if the QB is holding the team back.  During the first half of the season it likely wasn’t the case.  During Hurts’ last 6-7 performances, however, his inability to distribute the football makes that a debatable argument.

The post I quoted literally said "He's pretty hated", I was replying to that, not creating any "narrative of hate" or whatever.

Jets TD !

You know the NFL has gotten weak when division opponents help each other up after plays.

I’d take Jalen Hurts over Mike Glennon. There I said something positive about Hurts

I don't think anybody really hates him.  He seems like a good dude and hard worker from everything being reported.  It was a very nice touch for him to take all his O players out to lunch/dinner one on one to get to know them.  What some don't like is his game and just don't see him improving enough to be a QB who can lead you into the playoffs and make a SB run.  I myself am in that camp of thought.  I think he can improve, but it will be fractional to where he needs to be because the things he most has to improve on are more instinctive than teachable.  Thus, it's either you have it or you don't and he don't have it.

Then there's some that continue to harp on him because the other part of it is they know they're getting under the skin of those who think Hurts is going to be the saviour and just needs more time (and the majority of them have some irrational hatred of Wentz) so it's entertaining to exchange barbs with them.  You usually see that when RTK comes along and throws around his man love for Hurts, basically inviting others to have a go at him.

I think his ceiling is a backup QB who can give you a 2-3 window of spot starts for a team in a playoff hunt, but he's also going to need his team to have a good D and a good rushing game.  Putting the game in his hands where he has to throw it to win is not a recipe for success.

That was a hell of a catch by Saquon

With every Jags failure, I implore Howie to use Dave Caldwell to convince the Jags to trade us Lawrence.

We've seen this play out in spades this season... and the only games that's he's really played 'well', are games they asked him to hand it off or run more than they asked him to pass.  Classic game manager method to have team success despite a limited QB.

What do we have to give up to get him?
