He tested positive on Saturday or Sunday, didn't he?  I think he was out either way.   But, no one has heard anything about Brooks that I know of.  Would be unlikely for him to make an appearance out of the blue, but crazier things have happened.

I don't think he's coming back this year.

I'd be surprised if he plays another down for the Eagles.

Agreed on both counts.  They can't afford to keep him around again next year.

The guy never plays anymore. Don't think that's going to change.  He seems like he's always in good shape too but can never stay healthy, physically or mentally.

I'm guessing Brooks is dealing with mental issues again. Too bad I like him as a player and a person. Just everything has been too quiet from the team

I think they are just holding out Brooks because they need to move on from him this offseason and can't risk him suffering a major injury which will complicate things.

I never root for the Eagles to lose, does not mean I can not see that the QB is not good enough, and if we lose, he will be a major reason why.

Kinda like you saying the season was over the moment Carson Wentz tore his ACL, and all but openly saying you did not want Nick Foles to win the Super Bowl.

I am rooting for the Birds to lose, like lose out it's best for the long run if we lose out and raise the draft picks. We will need all the draft capital we can get to at some point get a QB.

Now if we win I wont be upset. I'll enjoy the game either way. Just in reality it would be best for us to lose.

I think Brooks retires after the season.  He has the mental issues and his body keeps breaking down these past few years which must only put more weight on the mental stress.

I will not do this. This year I have been kinda meh either way. If we win...............great, If we lose..............move on

He'd probably do fine on defense as a LB.

Yes, please

We should be used to it.

Oh OK.  I had never heard of 340.

I hate flying btw.

Myself as well, it also doesn’t seem right that the plane went missing, up until the 90’s maybe, but the technology everyone had in 2014, to lose a plane where ever it crashed doesn’t make sense.

Agreed.  Its almost like it was foolish to make him the highest paid OG in the NFL after his first Achilles' injury... after turning 30... Generally speaking, players don't get healthier as they get older.  Nor was it necessary at the time.  He had TWO years left on his deal when they renegotiated that contract.  It was an unnecessary deal to make at the time.   And since that renegotiated deal he's played 9 games... out of a possible 36 and counting.  He finished 2019 season on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.  Busted his other Achilles for all of 2020.  Now a pec strain caused him to miss all but two games of 2021.    It's almost like aging injured players can't be paid for their past performances, because they can't be expected to match that in the future.  Once a player is past their prime, you can't pay them like they still are in their prime.   Whenever the phrase "when healthy" is tossed about in reference to a player, you have to recognize that that particular player cannot be paid at the highest rate of the NFL and expect to get good ROI out of it.   But, Howie has done this with over half a dozen players... and some folks wonder why the Eagles found themselves in cap trouble.   Poor investments.  And then there's his voided years tacked on at the end and the constant rolling of things to the future... almost Ponzi scheme like in its function.

I think he's a great dude, I think he's a great player... when healthy.   But, his contract is another albatross for this franchise.

I would think it has to be in the ocean somewhere probably in a million pieces.

Haven't flown since 2006 and never will again.

It could be that but I just think his body is taking longer to heal from the injury.  I mean it's a pectoral injury.  Even if the tear heals, his strength is going to be impacted to the point where he likely needs to build it back before he's cleared to play.

That sounds like a winning philosophy.

Do you want them to Alshon the situation again?

Or he's 32 and his body is breaking down with more orthopedic injuries than I can even recall to list.  But yes, their avoidance of the issue is concerning for mental health.

Washington is down to third stringers, so this game shouldn't be remotely close.

The situation has already been Alshon'd.

It just doesn't get as much bad press because everyone likes Brooks.  But make no mistake, Howie already bungled this one just as badly.

No one retires when they are owed that kind of money.

I tried every combination I could think to check.  Every time... the Eagles get in at 10-7.

@LeanMeanGM

You are correct... the scenario I never checked was Eagles at 10-7 with Vikings and Saints at 10-7... AND 49ers at 11-6.  I don't think 49ers at 11-6 is possible, and somehow if there are 4 teams at 10-7 (Eagles, 49ers, Saints and Vikings) - the Eagles and Vikings get in.  Saints and 49ers are out.

Eagles have a tough road though if they split with Washington.  9-8 leaves the door open for Washington to pass them, as well as the 49ers, Vikings, and even the Saints to pass them.

When you look at the money... he bungled it worse.

It's not, he will start the rest of the year no matter what, and he will be replaced in the off-season with a new QB no matter what.

Perfect game for Hurts to put up above average numbers and all of his fan boys can slob him up and say see, Hurts is good.
