Again, you can be happy... EXTREMELY Happy with his play and still be hesitant going forward.

And yes, one of my big things( i think in general) with Hurts is Arm Strength.

Not rocket science.

You should be more concerned about Ben’s arm strength ya Steelers fan

They’re still nitpicking his play. The pass to Ertz, the lack of throws over the middle, the lack of deep balls, etc.

Just moving the goalposts.

That's the life of an NFL QB.

1 - the pass to Ertz was brutal.  The fact that they got credit for it was nice, but he needs to be better on that throw.   No other statement can be made about it.   I blame his head, because he was too open and he started to think rather than react.

2 - the lack of throws across the middle and lack of deep balls, plus the seemingly preference to throw short to his right are things that NFL DCs will see, and try to force on him.  We'll see how he and the team adjust to that.

The goalposts (at least for me) is to see if Hurts can truly be a 'franchise' QB.  And for me, that means that he predominantly wins games on the strength of his ARM and HEAD not on his LEGS.  Sunday was a good step in that direction, but with things that NFL DCs will be testing about him moving forward.  It's a long season.  He hasn't proven anything yet.  1 game doesn't equal a career.  Ask Clint Longley.

Being hesitant is fine. It just feels like some people refuse to allow themselves to just enjoy the game. Let’s go a day without the negativity.

We dominated a bad team, which is what we should do. Hurts played well, Siri was great, even our punter was great. Some of you guys don’t even allow yourselves to enjoy the win.

Eagles are stuck now with the money converted and the team trading for him no longer takes that chunk on, is his point. I disagree it makes him more tradeable though.

The team trading for him wouldn't take that money on anyway, unless he's traded this year, and if he's traded this year, then the freed up money plus all the other signing bonus money that's been kicked forward comes crashing down on the 2022 salary cap.

I just don't see how this makes him more attractive in a trade to another team for 2022, nor how it makes him more tradable.  What am I missing?

No offense people did the same exact thing to wentz, foles, Vick and Bradford on something like that. I think that’s just ingrained in being an Eagles fan that you have to **** about something even if they play well

Yep, makes it easier to sell the tickets when the Steelers are good. thanks for the update captain obvious

Which Steelers jersey are you getting this year?

I was assuming he was angling with moving Cox at the deadline, otherwise yeah.

The food is good IMO but bread, a pickle, a piece of meat, and some sauce is a weak sandwich to me

Its a solid sandwich, thats why virtually every other fast food company has created their own variation. But, anyone that knows anything about sandwiches knows its about creating both intentional juxtaposition and beautiful harmony within the textures and flavors of a sandwich's layers. My advice, take the chick-fil-a chicken sandwich as a starting point, a canvas per se and get creative with the layers.

You already have a crunchy texture on the chicken, with soft buns (always order 'no butter' if you want a fresh sandwich bun). get creative with what you add, think cheeses, bacon, lettuce, etc... Also, all of the salad toppings are on the table as well, including the dessings (hello avocado ranch). Unfortunately, chick-fil-a keeps it simple, so your total options are somewhat limited, but you can always bring it home (or eve better, order chicken strips, slice them up and have 2 super dope home-made sandwiches the next day). If I have to eat on the spot, my basic order is spicy sandwich, with mayo/sauce, and tomato (I am from the south, we eat tomato sandwiches).

There hasn't been. They are a sensitive bunch. Discussing what happened over the course of the game is negative. Only thing we are allowed to talk about is Jersey sales.

@LeanMeanGM Eagles 29 49ers 20

Eagles with a pick 6 in the first half.

I wish there was a zaxbys here. My options for a chicken sandwich is Chick-fil-A or Popeyes. Although credit to Carl’s Jr.  their Santa Fe chicken sandwich with waffle fries is pretty good.

Or they have a different way of enjoying the win.   Breaking down games is fun for people.  So, win or lose there will always be things that can be improved upon.  Penalties were a major issue, for example.   And sometimes teams can get away with things against bad teams that they can't get away against good teams.  So, taking things with a grain of salt and remaining realistic helps some folks from the inevitable crash at the end when they allow themselves to be swept away with momentary euphoria.

There is also a major difference between 'criticism' and 'negativity'.  Not everything that is said that is critical is a negative comment.  As a teacher, I 'criticize' my students' work all the time.  But it isn't in a way to tear them down, but to challenge them to improve.   I haven't seen much in the way of "Hurts sucks" from folks... well maybe one guy.  But, the rest are offering valid observations of areas of weakness (or at least areas for improvement) moving forward.

A lively discussion about obesity and fat chicks transitioning to the complexities of a chicken sandwich is not what I expected after a blow out win.

I've seen some of that, but I don't take that to mean they aren't happy with how he played Sunday, just some areas that they are watching to see if he develops. It's no secret that defenses will start to key on what you do well to try and force you to do stuff you are weak at.

:offtopic:

Tomato sandwiches are 'southern'?   I just thought they were 'country'.   I eat tomato sandwiches from my garden all summer and consider it to be one of the simplest and most decadent of summer treats.   I think I like a good tomato sandwich more than a cold dessert treat.  There really is nothing like going to the backyard, picking a couple perfectly ripe tomatoes, peeling, slicing and placing on a couple slices of bread with mayo, salt and pepper.  And you can elevate any sandwich to near nirvana levels by just adding those same elements of perfectly ripe tomato, peeled, sliced, mayo, salt and pepper to it.

Don't have time for a sandwich?   Pick the tomato and just eat it straight off the vine like an apple.  (Salt and pepper optional.).    Incidentally, my all-time favorite sandwich tomato is the Cherokee Purple.  Ugly fella, but the flavors are amazing and the seed pockets are minimal.

I swear, people can’t handle any sort of critical thought regarding our QBs. Happens every single year.

Quarterback seems to be a very polarizing position that's for sure.
