This game was a serious argument for Kelce getting a gold jacket.

They have one of the easier schedules remaining. Panthers and Falcons after Miami.

San Francisco could lose a game down the stretch. They still have at Tennessee on a Thursday short week (i think they win but AJ brown is expected back), houston and then at rams. They might finish 9-8 but you need to be 10-7 cause of the tiebreaker

And the NFC east record fot no consecutive Champions lives on.

I trust Howard way more in that situation. Plus Sanders loves to run OOB when we're trying to burn the clock.

So do the Vikings have the tiebreaker?

Yes.

Random thoughts…

* I hate games like this. There’s almost nothing to take away from beating a team in Washington’s position. We should have beaten them by 3-4 scores but…

* Goedert had two crippling drops, Sirianni was really conservative on fourth down and Hurts couldn’t bother to protect the football on a weak fumble. Frustrating because…

* Sirianni called a great game, and we were able to do anything we wanted on offense until we decided to give Washington the ball. By the way, Washington had some incredible fumble luck tonight.

* When Goedert wasn’t trying to run before catching the ball, he was a monster.

* Stoutland is incredible.

* Slay got caught wanting to jump a short route because he had no respect for Gilbert throwing downfield. Then Gilbert threw a bad pass and Slay still misplayed it and let McLaurin come down with it. Bad stuff.

* I thought the pass rush was pretty unimpressive for most of the night. We started to collapse the pocket late, and Gilbert still threw a couple of dimes.

* Gannon had such a weird call on a late third down. He called a five man pressure (I think) with Maddox coming off the slot. It was telegraphed and Sweat dropped back in no man’s land. Such an easy completion to Humphries.

* All in all, not much positive to take away from the defense. A disappointing effort. I guess Cox had a nice night, so there’s that. Williams flashed a bit too.

* Hurts had a couple of frustrating plays where he ran into sacks or pressure, but overall he played well. If Goedert doesn’t drop a couple of passes and Mailata doesn’t hold on that fourth down run for no reason, I think we roll to 40 points and we see Minshew in the fourth quarter.

* Howard looked really slow early on. I know he isn’t fast by any means, but he looked like he was running with a 40 pound back pack. I liked the toss play on fourth down because that was a complete tendency breaker. Frustrating that Mailata held on the play, and he didn’t need to.

Gotta really root for the saints to lose and the niners. Cousins will do what cousins does and blow it so the Vikings will find themselves out of it.

I’d add i thought herbig and opeta as the game wore on got better. That was encouraging to see them playing competently.

Weird take considering he was incredibly instrumental in bringing us a Super Bowl

I really wish Kelce wasn't retiring. He's still awesome.

Hopefully not, he’s having an All Pro year, crazy for him to leave this season.

Yeah, Washington got worn down. So many of those holes were aided by the threat of Hurts keeping the ball too.

Ug. We clinched for the girls. Yuck

I think the issue is if he doesn’t retire the way that they set up the restructuring of his contract it has a poison pill in it based on what i read. They’d have to release him and then re-sign him. Or somehow restructure it in some way

Offense strong, Defense kept it together.  Very good win to stay in the playoff race.

Yeah I kind of think the game in 12 days in Washington is going to be different. I think the guys aren’t all gonna be on the Covid reserve list until Sunday and Monday so they’re going to get practice in and Washington will have heinicke in there not Gilbert who played surprisingly considering the circumstances.

I think the one thing that goes in the Eagles favor in that week 17 game is that Washington is playing on Sunday night against Dallas. If they lose that game to Dallas their seasons over so they might just come out flat the next week

Herbig looked good. Opeta was ok but Allen was too much for him at times.

And may shut down some guys playing through injury.

Same with Dallas, even if they have a seed to play for week 18, they may sit some guys for a playoff run.

In fairness Allen is really good. So that’s not just opeta’s problem.

Yes.  But he was able to lose slow enough to be effective.

Who did they not have on defense?  I honestly don’t know

It’s going to come down to what Green Bay does the next two weeks. If Green Bay beats Cleveland on Christmas and then beats Minnesota the following week at home then Dallas week 18 is likely going to have nothing to play for. Because I don’t see the Green Bay Packers losing to the Detroit Lions in week 18. I know the Cardinals just did but the Packers have home-field advantage and everything on the line they aren’t losing to the Lions in that game
