Kelce and Goedert.

Forgot about Goedert.

I expect him to be TE #3, right there with Andrews, in Fantasy drafts next season.

Wentz had one of the worst coaches of all time last year . I said it for years, I'll say it again. We will look back and realize Doug was a terrible coach and will be with the names Kubiak and Billick

I forgot about him.

At first I thought you just misspelled Belichick.😄😄

I don’t disagree with you. I would’ve blitzed more. I thought they should’ve attacked more considering the fact the best offensive lineman they had was out. And then Gibson had the toe injury. They really only had one weapon out there that could really beat you in that game which was Terry McLaurin.

Tbh I felt like the Eagles played it conservative against wft. Even on offense when was fourth and goal from the 2, they kick the FG and then they didn’t take the penalty and took the points instead of going for it. It felt like both offensively and defensively, they were more conservative cause they knew they could win that way and didn’t want to potentially screw that up.

Gives us the opportunity to present some surprises when we see them in two weeks and they have their players back.

Who is our Dalvin Cook?

In other words, who the one guy we can't afford to get Covid?

Kelce & Slay, definitely.

Lane or Mailata, but not both, as long as Dillard is available.

Same for Cox and Hargrave.

Thoughts?

Kelce.  At this point he is the most important player on the roster.

I basically see it as if we lose either one, we are a complete one dimensional team.

Lose Kelce, and the run game is gone. Dickerson coming back would help but it would be a major drop back missing Kelce.

Lose Goedert and the pass game is gone. Smith feels like he hit a rookie wall. He still make's a nice play, but I don't think he could carry the team as the only option.

I actually think Minnesota can survive that. Alexander Mattison isn’t cook but he’s more than serviceable. I actually think losing Jefferson would be worse for them especially with thielen out

I'd hate to find out who the Eagles would put in Slay's spot at outside CB.

Merry Christmas from your Eagles Cheerleaders...sorry in advance.

So is Hurts still "not improving”? Any more stats out there to help the attention-****s feel better about that hill they’re so DESPERATE to die upon?

It's a pretty odd take to assert either Kubiak or Billick are "terrible" coaches.  It could be argued they were both better coordinators, but they both have pretty good head coaching records.

Skins defense is not very good.  They are the Jets.

@e-a-g-l-e-s eagles! I know you had a post a few pages back about our draft strategy, and how we never use first round picks on LB/S. And I completely agree, it's impossible to argue the history.

But, I can't recall us ever having 3 first rounders in a year, with an obvious slant towards defensive talent in the first round being available, and a massive need on the defensive side of the ball. It all aligns for us to absolutely take 3 defensive players, ideally one at each level. A lot can change between now and the draft, but really, the offense doesn't need the same attention the defense does. If there ever was a year to break trends, this is the year to finally do it. I think we'll see a d lineman and LB get drafted. Safety is a maybe, they might be able to secure one via FA.

There's a lot of other variables at play, but I guess my main point is that our needs, our assets, and the available talent in this draft all align perfectly to address the defense in a meaningful way. Also, I know you mentioned we shouldn't expect a quick turnaround, but if Howie is able to draft 3 starting rookies in the draft, I think that could easily lead to a massive improvement in the defense. Again, like the Dude said, there's a lot of ins, a lot of outs, and a lot of what have yous, a lot of interested parties....but Lowie has to address defense, just has to.

I actually think Doug would be a good HC if he stays out of calling plays.

McPhearson has been quiet as a mouse this year. I mean, I know he's a 4th rounder and all....but I don't remember hearing his name once this entire year.

:roll::roll:  Reagor looks like he has concrete blocks on his feet any time he changes direction, but RTK thinks he would be a good corner :roll::roll:

He's played a handful of snaps but they never play dime.  The only CB's getting active snaps are Slay, Nelson and Maddox.  Makes having 8 cb on the roster that much more head scratching.

Steve Nelson is a name you never hear however, and he starts.  Guessing that's a good thing?

Yeah Nelson has been solid. A few screw ups I remember, but nothing egregious. Corner play has been good all year, feels very different than the days of Bradley Fletcher et al

Assumption is you are hitting on all three of those firsts and all can play up to a nfl starter level in year one. That’s not a given whatsoever nor should it be he expectation either as history has shown. Our track record picking defensively isn’t great to begin with since 2016. When we’ve had picks in the teens and 20s which we are likely looking at currently, we’ve not hit nearly as well either. So i look they have 3 that doesn’t mean they hit or those guys are capable starters from day one with where they are being selected in the first round. We’ve had guys like Barnett who really wasn’t a starter in year one picked at 14 and ditto with dillard who we traded up for. I actually don’t think it’s out of the question the eagles trade up to get a pass rusher they covet

also I’m not just drafting defense because i need defense. If there’s a center/guard we have ranked top 15 player falls to us at let’s say 18 and the next best defensive player is a safety who we have ranked 22nd I’m not passing up that lineman just cause we have a bigger need at safety currently. I’m not drafting strictly for need. I’m drafting best available player which hopefully coincides with my need. However once you start picking for need instead of best available you tend to pass up on players you regret down the road.

i would make that bet with you that the eagles either don’t use all 3 firsts, don’t take a safety and linebacker in the first round or use one of those 3 picks on an offensive player (assuming we use all 3)
