I didn’t call it a Philly cheesesteak, call it a steak sandwich then. I can say I have never had a steak sandwich with Cheeswhiz just like I have  never eaten canned cheese and I doubt I ever will.

I would kill for good bread.  Like a Po’boy. You need New Orleans French bread.  If anyone knows a good bakery in the mid state, let me know.

A proper cheesesteak doesn't need the term 'Philly'.  ;).  And please, don't discuss the 'whiz' thing... that's not authentic.  That's fugazi.

The all 22 isn’t on nfl gamepass ? Is this the American version because it’s on the international version. I’ve just taken a screenshot of it. 39D9CE53-B594-475B-88F1-CF61B9F246A0.thumb.png.0a6a55e00b6d681892ea1a06e297db61.png

By the way, I ask that you don’t call anything with chicken or shrimp a fajita. That’s a made up marketing thing.  Tex Mex will make it out of Texas when I can order a Taco al Carbon.

Done!

The trouble with all these breads is that the best ones don't use the preservatives... and they have a great flavor for about 6 hours... after that it changes to being less delicious.   Getting one of these breads from the bakery within hours of being baked and made into a sandwich immediately is the ultimate.

True.

One of the true Philly experiences is waiting n line for cannoli's at Sarcone's during Christmas week.

I've not had Sarcone's.  Had Liscio's, Amoroso's, Buono's.

All good. Sarcone's is my personal favorite but what do I know?

yep. We have a bakery here. OK hoagie rolls. Great for a hard roll. I love Turkey and Pepperoni with mayo on a hard roll. But you go buy 6 and you get to eat 1 fresh. By later that day its already lost 80% of its excellence. So sad.

You cant say that. Its like an unwritten rule here that no food in hazleton can be good.

You are the local expert around here... and you frequent Taco Bell and eat the cheesesteak from Subway.  We can only go by the information we're provided.

Let the record show I don't live in Hazelton but, I have been up there a ton for work and have some friends up there ( not HE). They definitely are unique when it comes to the way they do food up there though.

This heckys is really starting to piss me off they charge for ketchup packets!

Nothing says "we don’t give a F about you” like charging for condiments

I provided Hecky's information and you questioned it for like a half hour.

I didnt say subway cheesesteak is good. I said its the best option on their menu. I still know about good cheesesteaks and pizza and taco bell items.

Yeah really.... Also any spreads or condiments you want on the sandwich they charge for too.

You dont do ketchup on a cheesesteak.

And you dont need any for their fries. Maybe vinegar. but make sure you specify fresh cut cause they have a couple other kinds of fries. You gotta go fresh cut.

I didnt know they charge for that though. They used to have it in a pump thing like wendys has with little containers and it was definitely free. I guess trying to be more sanitary those are more expensive for them to buy, and inflation and stuff...passing more cost to the customer.

I don't do ketchup on my cheesesteaks im not an animal lol. I was putting my order in for tomorrow. I chose the cheesesteak then it asks what cheese I want and charges for that accordingly... then the spread or sauce I want on it that they charge extra for. Then I chose fresh cut fries then it asks what dips I want for the fries and it gives a list of those and charges for all of them.

haha.

Well, its certainly possible things have changed since last time I was there. My dad still works in Hamburg but my parents moved back to Hazleton a few years ago so I havent been back since.

Im sure its still incredible food. But its probably finding ways to stay open like many other small businesses these days. Sucks to hear about the nickel and diming. But Im definitely gonna hit that up one day again. One thing hazleton does not have is a really good cheesesteak.

Best here is probably brother bruno's. But its not quite up to the level of heckys.

Yeah, not traditional Mexican food and certainly not TexMex. The is California fusion food. Black tortillas?  Never had black tortillas in Mexico.

Those look like incredibly delicious little appetizers. Do they sell a 12 pack?

Tacos aren't supposed to be fancy in my book. They are supposed to be delicious junk that makes you sheet your brains out. Not all plated like a fancy chef with fancy colors and garnish.
