Nakobe Dean is a beast damn that nonsense. They were saying that about our heisman wr too

People will also overreact to Hutchinson having a poor game. Like they got down on AJ Terrell when there was an illiusion that he was dominated by Chase in the big playoff game.

Now Terrell is already on of the best CBs in the NFL.

Ok I got my Bama win. Now I'm getting up really early Sunday and driving to DC to watch the Eagles in a crap hole stadium. Win! Make it a good weekend.

I don't know why anyone would want to draft Pickett in the first round with him dodging this bowl game.  Not like he played in a lot of relevant bowl games in his career.  Never seen a college QB bail on a bowl game before.  That's a red flag.

It will be an even bigger red flag if Pitt goes onto win this game still.

I want Nakobe Dean.

Please and thank you.

Draft fairies.

Pitt?  They lost Thursday, and Picketts replacement had his collarbone broken, in a meaningless Bowl Game.

Corral is playing against Baylor in the Sugar Bowl.

Spoilers? You shouldn’t have ripped Pickett for missing a game no one cares about.  If it’s not a playoff bowl game no one cares.

Bigger bowl game than any he has ever played in.  What other QB has skipped out on a Bowl Game especially when it would have been the biggest of their college career?

Years ago they didn’t, but it’s more common now to get ready for the Senior bowl & draft and not risk injury. If he was a 3rd-5th round pick, maybe, but being a possible top 10 pick?  all that money, it’s not worth the risk. No GM’s will care.
On the other side, Hutchinson did play in an important playoff game, and the football world is sheeting all over him. At the combine every team is gonna ask him how it felt to not matter, good times.

This is what it cost Jaylon Smith, he was never the same after that injury. Hopefully Devin Lloyd comes out of the Rose Bowl unscathed, as if I didn’t just jinx him.

I've got Mailata -  Dickerson - ??? - ??? - Lane

With Kelce, draft pick, Seumalo, Driscoll, and Brooks as the names to plug in the OC/RG ???'s.  I don't see Brooks as a viable option and I don't see Driscoll as a good option.  Even if Kelce returns to lock down center (or if we draft an OL round 1), I still see Seumalo somewhere in the starting 5.

That assumes Seumalo can move over to RG? He may be able to but he may not. And I think Driscoll was playing well at RG until he got hurt.

I ran the following Mock Draft on the PFN Mock Draft Simulator

19 Tyler Linderbaum OC Iowa
20 Nakobe Dean LB Georgia
39 Jaquan Brisker S Penn State
55 Carson Strong QB Nevada
122 Hassan Haskins RB Michigan
125 Tariq Castro-Fields CB Penn State
154 Cole Turner TE Nevada
159 Josh Jobe CB Alabama
161 Brian Robinson, Jr. RB Alabama
201 DJ Dale DT Alabama
207 Matt Araiza Punter San Diego State

plus the following four 2023 picks added and one 2023 pick traded away

2023 2nd Round Pick Chicago Bears
2023 3rd Round Pick Chicago Bears
2023 3rd Round Pick Minnesota Vikings
2023 4th Round Pick Minnesota Vikings
2023 7th Round Pick sent to Denver Broncos

The trades were as follows:

23 Traded to Chicago who took Ikem Ekwuonu OT NC State for Pick 39 plus 2023 2nd and 3rd Round picks
51 Traded to New England who took Isaiah Spiller RB Texas A&M for Pick 55 and Pick 125
85 Traded to Minnesota who took Jalen Pitre S Baylor for Pick 159 plus 2023 3rd and 4th Round picks
151 Traded to Denver who took George Pickens WR Georgia for Pick 154 and Pick 201
166 Traded to Minnesota who took Lucas Krull TE Pittsburgh for Pick 159 plus 2023 3rd and 4th Round picks
2023 7th Round Pick Traded to Denver along with Pick 151 for Pick 154 and Pick 201

In what context?  The impact on the franchise is it gives you the ability to plug 3 starters in with minimal salary cap implications.

The Eagles right now would be picking #19, 20, and 23.  Last season that was Jamin Davis, Kadarius Toney, and Christian Darrisaw.  Those 3 guys together are making a total $41M over 4 years.  That's about $3.4M per player per season.  How much will it cost to sign 3 UFA to play DE, CB, S for instance?  Much, much more than $41M total over 4 years.  Add to that, you know you have full control over that player for 4 years plus a 5th year option, plus a franchise tag for another year if so choose.

The advantage of trading one of the picks into 2023 is you're getting the benefit of trading with a team who needs a player now and can't/won't wait one additional year -- and the Eagles would theoretically get a premium return for doing it.  What you hope is the DET, JAX, NYJ, or even PIT of the world want to make that trade up, and are willing to give a 2023 1st in exchange.  That kind of trade you jump at because the pick would likely be a top 5-10 in 2023.

In terms of impact and filling need.  You get 3 cheap cap hits now, but then have the prospect on 3 extensions happening at the same time too.  Also, if you look at what may come next year, you can use the moved 1st rounder to perhaps look at CB, QB, etc that may not be there this year.

I haven't looked at that history; however, regarding moving one of the 1sts to next year, the history of those kinds of trades almost always has the 1st move down in the current Draft (either to later in the 1st round or into the 2nd round in addition to picking up the 1st round pick in a future Draft, so the number of rookie players going through Training Camp is not typically reduced by a trade like that .  Further, especially for late-1st round picks, the player chosen with the moved down pick is often just as good as the player that would have been from the original pick.  Goedert is a good example of that phenomenon.

And that perhaps is where to go. You take Goedert 20 picks later but gain extra compensation to do it.  Howie loves a trade and there will be a team looking to trade up, so a smart trade down could be of big benefit to the team

Agreed. And the Goedert trade was from pick 32.

Trading down is the right move 90% of the time.

His teammates do, it’s weak. Can’t defend it if he’s healthy. Which he is.

Random, but I really though the Packers and Rodgers were going to crumble under the weight of their offseason distractions.  For all the hype that Rodgers and his Packers get year in, year out...they really have not been that dangerous of a SB threat for a while.  Seemed like the logical year for things to fall off.  Instead, they've kind of filled the void at the top.  I see them getting to the SB this year before bowing out to the Chiefs.

Just looking at the 2022 free agency class and man the DB and WR market are loaded. Doubt we make a huge splash ala Adams but hopefully we can fill in some blanks.

I want one of two young safeties in Bates or Williams. Not sure what receiver but would not mind a slot upgrade in Kirk or Crowder. Russel Gage is interesting as well...

The Jags or Lions should send a thank you letter to Georgia for exposing Aiden Hutchinson. There aren’t any Northwesterns or Marylands in the NFL

I've seen a coach bail on a college QB in a bowl game before.

He’s getting crushed, wonder if it cost him a top 5 pick.

Happy New Year

The only players in this year draft who haven't played significant minutes are Tuipulotu and Stevens. And both are still with the team. Stoll (UDFA), T Jackson (SFA), Gowan (Ertz), Scott (6th rd), Chachere (SFA), Vincent (SFA), Anderson (SFA). On the PS, Awosika (UDFA) has been protected most of the season along with McCain (SFA).

The only players gone from last year's draft are Prince and Toohill, the later has played 23 games with the WFT. Hurts, Taylor, Driscoll and Watkins have started this year. Herbig (UDFA), Toth (UDFA), Epps (SFA), Togiai (UDFA).

Adding a lot of young players the last two season, yes Virginia, this is a rebuild.

Next year, Dillard is probably traded, Brooks may be gone, Kelce retired, Kerrigan won't return. Barnett, Harris, Nelson, McLeod, Ridgeway, Howard, Avery are UFAs.

Probably bring back Ridgeway and Avery. Barnett??? But most of the older players will be gone in 2022, Slay, Graham, Cox, Lane, Kelce??? probably the only ones left.

Really hope Kelce stays one more year. Then let Isaac and Jack compete for RG. If Kelce does hang em' up, a combination of Isaac and Jack at center and RG isn't good enough. I'm assuming Brooks is out of the equation after this year.

This is why Linderbaum would be great pick.
