I wouldn’t be surprised if Chip does bring UCLA back & they become a top team. Chip is much better as a college coach than a pro coach.

At Oregon he had Nike backing him which helped but even so recruiting to come to LA and in that market is so much easier and just a lot more talent in So cal that want to stay in California. Especially with the new rules in college with athletes allowed to make money is also super helpful. Usc and UCLA with good coaches should dominate California recruiting especially Southern California recruiting. Frankly thought usc should’ve fired Helton and went after a better coach.

Maybe they are waiting for Urban Meyer to quit the Jags.

That’s who i thought they should’ve went after. I think they would’ve had a compelling case for urban to take the job after usc went 5-7 and then 8-5 in 2019. I don’t think they were gonna do it after last year with the pandemic and the conference getting destroyed money wise. i think he could do what he did at Ohio state at USC. Plus be living in Los Angeles.

LSU is about to lose to UCLA

LSU run defense has been pretty bad last few series

LSU top two RBs out if it mattered

The ucla fighting chips are up 11 on LSU with 12 mins left to go.

UCLA is going to surprise some people this year.  I know it's easy to hate on Chip Kelly but he's got that team trending in the right direction.  Dorian Thompson-Robinson is an exciting quarterback and Zach Charbonnet is gonna be a stud RB.

That, plus LSU hasn't reloaded the way other teams do once Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase left.  Overrated team right now.

A lot of bad college QB play yesterday was disappointing. I do think we'll like Malik Willis a lot. Howie loves athletic QBs. Willis fits what we do.

Joe Brady leaving hurt them as well.

I watched some Carson Strong last night. Really nice arm talent. He looks like a giraffe though.

This GA game is hard to watch  , time to bounce around the other games .

I guess Im old school cause I enjoy those tough defensive battle games. GA is not a passing team, hasnt been in years. they are a pound you to the ground offense and bust you in your mouth defense team. That is exactly what we saw last night. Run game looked good but the defense looked amazing. Reminded me of the old school 70's 80's NFL style football. The younger generation would find that boring but that is real football to me.

No thanks.

For a guy who isn't a good athlete, I wish Strong had more of a Zack Wilson type of arm. Strong's arm is good, but it's not great.

I only saw two of his touchdown highlights, but they were really good throws. I’m definitely going to try and watch that full game & keep an eye on him this year

No doubt GA defense came to play , offense wise they were missing two of the better offensive players , and Monken called plays to reflect this .

Clemson on the other hand , had a very wet behind the ears QB starting and it showed ,he had no clue how to deal with the pressure , he had a deer in the head lights look about him .

Not many do more pre snap stuff than Carson Strong , they have a heck of a WO on that team too .

If I were forced to rank my favorite 5 QBs I posted

Corral , Strong , Nix , Jurkovec , Daniels

One More Week.  We opened against ATL after our Super Bowl Year a few years ago.  4-11-1 last year.  So technically speaking.  There's no place to go but Up.....Right?   Obviously teams have gone on bad "Year" Streaks before.  Even the Eagles.  I don't think the team was as bad as last year's record though Carson obviously didn't play as well.   I think Injuries really did us in last year much more than people acknowledged especially with the O Line.   I think we will be better than a 4 Win Team this year.    You might call it "Beginner's Luck" with a new coach and QB if we have a breakout success this year but to many have wrote us off already.   It's a long season and nobody from the Division Scares me.   Dallas is always a threat but Dak is coming off multiple injuries and the their D wasn't too hot last year.   Washington D is always good but Fitzmagic can turn tragic very quickly.   Giants could go either way.  Anyways, 8 to 9 Wins may win the Division.   We are in this no matter what the Media says.

I'm not really interested in ANY of the QBs in this years draft. Better hope Hurts shows promise, another nice QB forces a trade out of his current team or Watson is cleared of all chargers cause im not looking to waste picks on any of this years QB class.

I have a feeling we’re going to look back at the 2020 draft and be really annoyed we passed on one.

You very well might be right. Its way too early but Wilson and Jones look to be on a good track.

Me personally though, Id like to build a nice solid all around team first then land the QB so we get more years out of him on a rookie contract.

Whoops. Yes.

Meh, having spent much of my life around academia (too many degrees and then some teaching), the media likes to jump on extreme cases, the reality is most universities are dominated by the business and engineering schools, and graduate programs. Only a few elite colleges let these issues be more than a minor sideshow for neo-marxist sociology majors who are destined for Starbucks when they graduate.

And to some extent these have been good influences, sexual predication and harassment are greatly reduced from a few decades ago, racist frat boys are learning to be more discrete, and the good ole boys club has been forced to accept a wider range of membership. On the other hand, there is nothing more irritating than self-appointed "judges" of intellectual and moral purity - and academics should know better:

This was true only 3-5 years ago. It is not true now.

I agree with you. I’m nervous about Fields becoming a really good QB.

Fields is the least of my worries of the 2021 QBs right now. I actually put even Mills over him, putting Fields at 5th on my list. BUT this is without having a season under their belts.

I won’t pretend like I was pounding the table for these guys predraft, but once they fell I thought the value was really good. Fields and Jones got too much criticism, although with Jones I think a lot of it stemmed from the thought that SF traded the farm for him at 3. Hones the s accurate, has enough arm, can process and has pretty good pocket mobility. Fields has more obvious physical talent, but didn’t get enough credit for his processing.
