Eagles are about to be in playoffs, and adding a ton of talent on rookie contracts. Lots of picks in this draft. Theyll have enough space to make a few modest moves this year.

But theyll have even more than they had last year, and they did just fine. And each year from now on, its going to increase more and more. Theyre going to be in excellent shape very soon, with a team on the upswing like not many expected.

Why would MIN go for it here with this QB? This early? I’m not complaining, but terrible call.

Agreed. Dumb call.

My great, great grandmother had a roommate who had 2 phrases. It was all she said on repeat hundreds if not thousands of times per day. You could hear her all the way down the hall when you arrived because she would say it loudly, almost yelling- "PICK me up!", and "Shall we commence?"

I dont know where pick me up came from. But apparently shall we commence was something she would say to her class when she was a teacher. And the way she said it makes it sound like she was a real bish in class.

one day DUM is gonna be in the nursing home saying " Theres gonna be cap trouble next year." Over, and over, and over again. Maybe one day when Howie is gone he will be right.

DUM isnt bad. but hes hilarious with his doomsday cap posts all the time. Hes been saying it, and it just never happens.

I don’t dislike DUM. He’s just over the top. 4for4 is just a negative troll

The cap after 2022 is going to be fine. They still aren’t great cap space wise but they aren’t like they were this year. That’s the argument i brought up earlier this season saying if the eagles wanted to go after one of the big name QBs they could and they could restructure it for 2022 and be survive it afterwards.

the bigger issue is the eagles need to actually hit more on their early picks in the first two rounds. This past year looks good so far. However their 2019 and 2020 drafts the two best players are hurts which we don’t know what his future holds long term and sanders who can’t stay healthy and caplan said the other day doesn’t see the eagles extending him. The other issue is where the eagles are picking in the first round with those 3 firsts they haven’t exactly been good. Since 2013 when picking 13-32 the eagles have selected Marcus smith, Nelson agholor, reagor, dillard and Barnett. Not exactly thrilling.

We'll see how things look a year from now.

Right, and I made a point that after 2022 they'll be in very good shape. Hope that clears things up.

So teams don't believe in field goals anymore?

I mean they have 82 mil according to spotrac. The issue is more every team is getting a significant boost in cap space that year

The cap is irrelevant. It goes up and there’s always moves to make. R-E-L-A-X

Being 30th in cap space is poor relative to other teams. But our overall situation is not nearly as dire as "30th in cap space" sounds.

We are about to have a major infusion of 1st round talents, and we are in the Green on cap so we can add a few players. Having a playoff team, in position to add all of that talent is a good situation no matter how you slice it.

If we were 1st in cap space, I doubt we would be in this envious position as a playoff team, on the rise, about to add a lot of new talent. Usually the teams with the most room are some of the worst performing teams in the league.

While we found outselves a little tight against the cap, our GM has found a way to remain competitive. Much easier to live with the cap situation when this is the case.

And, how many teams find their cap situation, and their team performance simultaneously on the same trajectory? Usually a team going up has cap going down. Not us. We are in great shape with this GM.

Howie has been killing it this year

We are 4 players away from being a contender.

Can get 2 of those in next year's draft.

Let the games begin.

4 players? Is this sarcasm?

Howie kicks money down all the time.  They were in great cap shape for 2022 before as well.  Now they’re bottom third in the league in cap space.  Another reason why I don’t believe any Wilson/Watson/Rodgers stories.

They have plenty of cap space next year. Stop. This convo is ridiculous.

I'm not exactly defending Howie though. He gives contracts out like they're free candy.

Every team does, especially after dealing with a pandemic that f'd the cap. The cap will skyrocket soon, pulling from the future only makes sense.

Somewhat incredible that this random moron thinks he understands the cap better than Howie.

I think this post sums up the blog pretty well over the past several months.

Lock it up and open a playoff blog.

Get it together cheese heads.

Maybe, but maybe not

DE, LB, S, CB.

Defense makes it all better?

QB has to be one of the 4.

GB really making us work for it here

One thing to keep in mind, other than Hurts, they ran 27 times for 74 yards. No way they win this game without Hurts.

The OL not only failed to establish the run, they were subpar pass blocking. Not their best game.
