I’ve seen some people say the Eagles making the playoffs cements Hurts as the QB of the future. I’m not sure what it is about Hurts, whether it’s his personality or work ethic that people bend over backwards to try and paint him as the second coming. He honestly gets more support than McNabb ever did respective to what they accomplished and McNabb is arguably the greatest QB in Eagles history.

Hell, say what you want about Wentz, but as an Eagle Wentz accomplished more than Hurts did Wentz outside of 2017 got way less support than Hurts did.

I figured it was just Hurts is a likable guy, and that’s fine, if people like him they like him. But when I saw people just GUSHING over him dodging that railing yesterday and somehow equating that to actually football play on the field. "Look at the poise from this kid, Eagles fans are lucky to have a guy like that. He’s a true leader.” Because he dodged a railing leaving a football game? Then I was like ok this is weird, something’s up here. There’s clearly some coordinated campaign going on in the media, it’s pretty blatant now.

I don’t think Lurie or Howie by any stretch have decided on him as the franchise QB going forward. I think they’d have to make a deep playoff run. If the Eagles say get smoked in the wildcard game, I don’t think anything is going to deter them from pursuing one of the vets who could hit the trade block, but I suppose time will tell.

He's extremely likeable. I think he's a great guy and easy to root for. I just don't think he's a great QB, nor do I see the inherent talent to make him great with some time. Eagles fans for as much grief as we get for being negative, want to be hopeful, so they project a lot on the kid. Just remember, people on the EMB called Chip Kelly and Joe Banner geniuses too.

To the people complaining about making the playoffs because it hurts draft positioning... do you realize how dumb that sounds?

It's because he's not Wentz.  Same people that are going over the top gushing....had personal issues for not liking Wentz.  Weather they'll admit it or not.

Conversely no matter how badly Wentz blew goats, people insisted he was the greatest QB of all time because he liked guns and hunting.

Even last year people were claiming Wentz was a "1st ballot hall of famer who will win multiple super bowls". He got compared to Rogers and Brady for crying out loud.

Yah, we're not winning on Saturday.

Keep in mind that with Covid, we can sign extra bodies to take reps.

He's a good kid, easy to root for, even for people like me who would rather go get a big time QB.

Don't think it has anything to do with a "coordinated campaign going on in the media".

If the Eagles lost yesterday and lose next week, they wouldn't get a top 10 pick. There is no missing out on top 10 talent because they made the playoffs. They would have been in the same range of Barnett, Dillard and Reagor.  Much like a lot of what you post, it's completely detached from the reality of the situation.

The reality is, the wins since week 8 against the bottom feeders of the NFL cost us a top 10 pick, and have created the illusion for some folks that this is a good football team.  We are not really that much better than Washington, the Bears and the Giants.

wow....thats a lot of players...what is up with the defense being the majority on the list

I did not want them to lose any games, what I said was feeding on the worst teams in the league and getting into the playoffs is a negative for draft capital, and this is not a team that can win a playoff game, let alone a Super Bowl.   And now instead of getting top 10 talent to improve the defense, we are in that range where Howie picks Barnett, Dillard and Reagor.

Question, would you rather have a top 5 defensive talent and not make the playoffs, or have the 19th pick and get waxed 45-7 in the playoffs ??

In the words of our lord and savior, Justin Bieber, 'never say never'.  With the level of play league wide week to week, the Birds could pull off a WC win.  Now pulling a rabbit out of a hat 4 times in a row might be hard.

I would have settled for "Regular and Post Season and One or Two Top-10 Picks"

This is the week for that, test everybody, get them off the testing regime for the rest of the road.

This is where your argument loses credibility.  There is no statistical measure that could support that.  If there is, please show me.

Eagles All-Time QB rankings:

1. Foles

2. McNabb

3. Who cares

847583. Klob

It's an even 6/6 split

Not a single person in here did that....

It's one thing to pull for the guy. It's another to declare the guy should be the team's QB of the future and they should stop all pursuit of superior QBs after one playoff season as a 7th seed, having not beaten a single opponent that is over .500.

Kirk Cousins gets mocked and trashed in the media. He's accomplished far more than Hurts ever has, but I don't see one media person saying "Vikings fans, you should appreciate Cousins, he's a good player." And nor should they. But they shouldn't about Hurts either. Not yet. You can praise a guy and say you like him without taking it to the extreme and saying case closed, the Eagles should commit to him, he's their guy.

It would have sucked because next week would be the end but in April three top 10 picks would be freaking awesome and you're lying to yourself if you wouldn't be happy

Yeah we all get it, you were rooting for the Eagles to lose all season over your hate of Hurts. But it's a good thing they didn't because winning is going to be a positive to young players development as well as the development and belief in the young coaching staff.  And of course they made the playoffs which is a big positive to take going forward with this core.

Also, your argument that the Eagles should miss the playoffs for the sake of draft picks continued to even last week when the potential for a top 10 pick was not on the table.

We better move the game from Saturday to Tuesday.

Why ??  If we had a chance to win a playoff game, that would be one thing, but if you are being realistic, we don't.

I still can't believe the NFL gave us another prime-time game in which we're incentivized to not win.

But I'm happy now.  Why wait four months?
