Helped yes.  But 90% was on Wentz and Doug.

How did drafting Hurts contribute to Wentz’s decline?

When our team was filled with old aging oft injured players, instead of getting a player who would have helped support Wentz, we drafted Reagor and Hurts - you tell me how that helped Wentz? I'll wait.

NE, BUF, TEN, DAL, GB all have a pretty good chance to win the SB.

Who are the other teams not in this list with a good chance to win it? KC, RAMS, TB. That’s 5 out of the top 8 most likely to win it with top 10 defenses.

Tampa is tied for 10th in points with Seahawks , they should be on the list

bull.

The issues with Wentz in 2019 was that he had no receivers to throw to... but hey, that's on the coaches.  They were the ones that selected JJAW, stuck with/drafted Agholor, reupped Jeffery despite him clearly having issues with Wentz, trading for and overpaying an aging deep threat in Desean Jackson, and we finished the year with Greg Ward, Robert Davis and Deontay Burnett at WR.

The biggest problem with Wentz in 2020 was the failure of the OL and once again, no WRs... Jalen Reagor was no solution, and they once again brought back Jeffery and Jackson!  That falls 100% on the GM not having invested in the young players needed to fill in when the older players were going to break down... and then bringing back Jason Peters again to 'fix' the problem.

The coaching staff can be blamed for not turning more to the running game rather than looking to pass so much... but the roster construction was the fault of the GM.

Wentz did not have enough personal intestinal fortitude to man up and lead the team through that adversity.  Would Tom Brady have let those hurdles get in his way?  Wentz was/is deficient from the neck up.

I actually think his 2nd round is better than the first.

2012 - Mychal Kendricks is 6.25

2013- Ertz is a 5.5

2014 - Jordan Matthews is a 5.75

2018 -  Goedert is likely to be above a 5.5

2019 Miles Sanders is a 7

I believe would all be above average for the pick value.

To think, Howie took Kendricks over both Lavonte David and Bobby Wagner, quite depressing...

My favorite thing from last year might have been the eagles re-signing Jason peters and then asking peters who had never played guard to try to play guard after 15 years at LT. And then he got hurt once again…. Which surprised….. no one.

Drafted Hurts

Didn't build a decent team

Gave out contracts to old players (one that was trouble)

Nah, the pick needs to be evaluated on how the player fits with the Eagles' system.  If the player doesn't fit the system, then the inner workings of how the organization functions, communicates and pulls in the same direction is broken.

I mean picks can't fail repeatedly with the team that picks them but it's not like that's all because of the GM.

If you want to do that then can also look at Jordan Matthews. they took him over Devante Adams, Jarvis Landry and Allen robinson.

Same question to you. Would those draft decisions have held Brady or Rodgers or Brees back?  They would have made the most of the cards they were dealt.  Wentz wasn’t able or willing to adjust his game and went down in flames as a result.

You clearly were not watching the same games I was. Wentz went almost 100% hero ball. Sometimes you say the darnedest things

I agree and that was 100% on Doug.

Yeah that's certainly true too.

I was extremely unhappy it went in that direction, but I had zero misplaced anger, my anger was rightfully aimed towards the team owner/Front office.

Hard to be mad when White did say God told him to go to Green Bay.

Dragging a roster of practice squad guys into the 2019 playoffs 100% disagrees with you.  For his efforts, he was rewarded with Reagor ( who is well on his way to being a bust ) and a backup QB.

How many super bowls did Rodgers or Brees win? Did they need a team around them to win them?

Hero ball was exactly the wrong approach. He needs to be a leader not a hero.

Wait a second Doug decided to sign Jason peters once again and not let him just move on from the organization? I find that to be a lot of BS. If you don’t think howie and jeffery lurie had a hand in that sorry then you are in Fing denial

so what we’re doing now is because the Eagles had a good season we’re allowed to rewrite history of our general manager signing players and blaming it on people who aren’t here anymore because it’s easier to do that.

Remember when the Eagles took Mamula over Sapp.

Reagor was supposed to help Wentz.  That ended up being a bad choice.  Howie pretty much took the worse WR out of all those that were left.  It's because he focused on needing speed instead of looking at everything Reagor can do.  But the pick was intended to help Wentz.  Hurts was a dumb pick. I understand needing a quality backup given Carson's injury history but it was still stupid.

Lots of teams passed on David and Wagner.

Wentz had already fallen apart prior to the end of the 2019 season.  So drafting Hurts was incidental

Mmmmm .... actually Brady suffered from some of the same roster deficiencies Wentz did in 2020, especially at WR.  The Pats brought in AB at his request, then had to flush him out the door in short order.  What did Brady do??  He got the hell out -- to TB.  Just like Wentz did.

Seeing D'Andre Campbell will be a FA. I'd be happy if they just sign this guy and draft another backer round 3 or later. It enables the first two rounds to be used on the other plethora of needs. He is a legit three down linebacker, you pencil him in as the number 1 and move on, shouldn't cost a ton.
