This is way more of a thing in the NBA than the other 3 sports. In the other sports players go where the money is in free agency and in trade they go where they think they can win. I really don’t think Philly would be a problem for Wilson, and the giants per Schefter aren’t looking to move on from Jones anyway.

Giants are going to have a new GM.  Any reports of what the Giants are or aren't going to do with their roster can be disregarded until their new GM is hired.

And you know that how ??

Why wouldn't he?  He quit on his team to avoid low chance of injury in a Bowl game so he wouldn't miss out on money in the draft.  Why wouldn't he also holdout out to avoid injury in the final season of a contract?   He is exactly the type of person that would holdout.

Having the ammunition to trade up for a QB in 2023 means jack s*** if the team with the pick likes the QB. MIA and CAR were willing to unload a load of picks for Burrow, but Cincy said no. There were reports that Howie kicked the tires on a trade up for Zach Wilson, Jets said no.

Hoping to trade up for a QB in 2023 is not a strategy, it's a shot in the dark.

Thats ok, cause I still think Howie is going Pickett in 2022. I just have a weird feeling he will trade up for Pickett.

Time will tell, but it screams a Howie move.

One could seriously question what is the Eagles "strategy" at QB going all the way back to 2015.

Trade Foles for Bradford

Sign Bradford to contract; sign Daniel to backup Bradford

Draft Wentz #2 overall after trading up from #13 to 8, then 8 to 2

Trade Bradford

Sign Wentz to $128M extension

Draft Hurts in 2nd round

Eat $32M in dead money to trade Wentz before the contract has even kicked in

Not exactly sure what to say about these events -- I'd hate to think this was their 5-year strategy.

Good god you are a moron.

So you know for a fact that Russ would play for the Giants over the Eagles, and Pickett would hold out after his 3rd season for a new contract.

Just like you knew for a fact the Eagles season ended the moment Wentz tore his ACL, and Ruben Randle was the 2nd best WR on the team.

There he goes again.  Completely flustered, shooting off in all directions.

Why don't you explain to me why Picket wouldn't hold out in the final year of a deal when he has already shown he has no issue at all of quitting on his team prior to a Bowl game purely for his own financial interests?

How did Howie contribute to the decline of Wentz?

Travis Fulgham and Greg Ward shouldn’t be anyones top receivers.

Not flustered at all.  Just proving once again, you state nonsense as facts, and have been proven so epically wrong that the entire EMB laughs at you.  Lets look at how wrong you  have been.

1.  Eagles season ended the minute Carson Wentz tore his ACL.  Not only was the season not over, the Eagles went on an absolutely epic run and won the Super Bowl, and you were so triggered by it you were banned from the EMB for trashing the QB who won the Super Bowl.

2.  Ruben Randle is the 2nd best WR on the team ( remember, I called him a camp body immediately ).  Not only was he not the second best WR, he was cut during first round of cuts, the true definition of a camp body, and then never played a snap in a regular season game again.

Christian McCaffrey did not hold out for a contract, he skipped his bowl game.  Now find me one player who has held out of the regular season for a new contract that skipped a bowl game.

McCaffrey signed hew new contract on April 16th, well before he would have even had a chance to hold out.

Can you explain me though why you think Pickett isn't the type of person who would hold out rather than playing the final year of their deal?  I'm all for hearing a logical thought process on that from your end.

While Kendricks isn't on their level, I don't think he was utilized to the best of his abilities here.  He's an attack player.  If you put Kendricks at WLB in Jimmy Johnson's defense I think he's a Pro Bowl player.  He was moved around a lot due to Chip Kelly bringing the 3-4 to town. He had his best 2 seasons at ILB in that defense too.  One of my favorite short term Eagles was Shawn Barber.  I think Kendricks could have been a much better Barber-like player if he had a consistent coordinator and scheme.

I wonder how many other teams draft players and play them out of position or in schemes that don't fit their skillsets the way the Eagles do.

Off the top of my head I can think of so many and many of them are at LB.

Mark Simoneau, Matt McCoy, Matt Studabaker, Nate Gerry.

The biggie for me is Chris Gocong.  He should have been a DE or rush LB.   Not a SLB covering tight ends.

We're seeing it now not only with Rasul Douglas but even Chandon Sullivan. No one talks about it but he was a scrub here yet in 2021 has 3 INT and 4 FF for the Packers.

Back to Kendricks though.  He's still one of my favorite players.  He didn't live up to his potential but he's one of the last Eagles who you knew was going to hit the other team as hard as he could.  I can't think of a guy like that since him.

My personal ‘holy s___ we’re F’ing stupid (drafting) moment” was when we gobbled up Curtis Marsh in the 3rd Rd.

Rodgers would be a hero but if this is true no way the NFL lets it get to that point.  Refs are going to decide one of their games.

Because skipping meaningless bowl games is the new norm.  It has not impacted the draft positions of the guys who have done it, and their teammates have unanimously supported it.  The best example is Picketts backup got hurt in the game, proving it was the right decision.

So by your logic, Deebo Samuel, DeShon Elliott, Derwin James, Connor Williams, Denzel Ward, Bradly Chubb, Rashan Gary, Noah Fant, Greedy Williams, Jaire Alexander, Arden Key, Malik Jefferson and DeShon Elliott are all gonna hold out for new contracts because the skipped their bowl games ??

Nick Bosa sat out the final 11 games of his college career and made it perfectly clear it was to prepare for the NFL draft.  He was drafted #2 overall

It just doesn't matter, to anyone

Maybe we can get Bosa and Deebo Samuel on the cheap in a trade before they hold out.  Obviously their teams are not gonna want to deal with the holdout situation.

Howie trades up for Pickett, undermining Hurts. Day 2 rolls around and he drafts Strong to undermine Pickett. Lets go.

It wasn't a meaningless bowl game.  That was the most meaningful bowl game that program has had in over a decade.  You can bet your ass it meant something to all of those kids on that team.  Especially the ones heading into what was likely the final game of their lives.

If those players don't get signed before training camp of their final year then yeah I'd say they are very much more likely to hold out than another player.  Also none of those guys are QBs.  If you are aiming to draft a franchise QB then you gotta make sure they have the right mentality, that they have the leadership skills and the competitive drive that is lacking in a QB selfish enough to bail on his teammates like that after that season.

If he wasn't talked about as a possible Eagles draft pick you wouldn't even care.  So what about Bosa leaving Ohio State and they got to a meaningful bowl game, what about all the other players I listed ??

Oh that's right, this is all about the possibility of Pickett being drafted and replacing your man crush, and it is the reason you are the only person in the world who cares.
