I wonder at what point in the playoff game Sirianni will be saving the signature get the ball to Reagor behind the line of scrimmage play for.

How did Howie contribute to the decline of Wentz?

I think Wentz was largely responsible for his own destruction.  If we want to do a deep dive, we can also assign blame to Doug’s coaching and the personnel Howie surrounded him with.

Wentz had bad mechanics and very little precision in his playing style.  That’s how he came into the league…he made great strides in 2017.  After that…blame ego, blame spending more time on knee rehab than qb advancement, blame the coaches, who knows?…but it felt like there was never any focus on mechanics, progressions, or development as a qb after that. It was all "appreciate Wentz for who he is and the rare plays he can make that no one else can.”

Some of that is on Wentz, some on the coaches.

Now, the failed 12 personnel experiment also did a lot to take Wentz down.  Stacking the deck with slow possession WRs AND a 2 TE offense was a recipe for passing disaster, which is exactly what happened.

Now he’s in a "better” situation with his favorite coach.  He’s better than 2020; I suppose the Colts are happy with him.  But he’s not good enough.  2017 was not reality for Wentz.

We'll never know.   The knee injury is a giant variable.   Losing DeFilippo was likely another big blow to his development.  I think Reich and DeFilippo were the perfect good cop/bad cop for Wentz.   And it worked to perfection.  I will always wonder what could have been with a healthy Wentz, Doug, Reich and DeFilippo for another couple years.

Howie trades up for Pickett, undermining Hurts. Day 2 rolls around and he drafts Strong to undermine Pickett. Lets go.

Sounds about right. the old Redskins drafting RG3 and Cousins is a perfect example. :)

But that was the problem with Pederson, once he lost his initial group of coaches, it was all she wrote.

Though Wentz shares a lot of blame, he is in love with his arm and really doesn't understand playing QB. He needs a strong coach to keep him focused.

Once he lost his mobility, shades of McNabb, as a pocket QB he's still good, but nothing special because he doesn't process information that quickly and has a wanky release.

Plus he was too much of a diva to accept hard coaching.  Hence vetoing Flip coming back.

He wanted to be babied and coddled.  And the organization enabled him for far too long.

Exactly.  2017 was a FLUKE.  We're much better off with him gone.

And the Colts fanbase is already tired of him.  They're realizing he's fools gold just like all the intelligent Eagles fans (aka non-WASHERS) did long ago.

I wouldn't say 2017 was a fluke.  That acl injury took away a good portion of what made him really good.

Go back and look at 2017 highlights and you can see how much different he moves compared to today.   That loss has affected his play.  He was never the most accurate passer and is best when he had a top run game to help him.

His problem is he'd rather try to fire in a pass in between 3 defenders than take a safe check down throw.

I hate to say it but I don't think he lasts more than 3, 4 years with the way he plays.

Based on his foolish, reckless and downright stupid play style, getting seriously injured was inevitable.

You’re right he won’t last long.

Frank Reich is using Wentz the right way.  6 of the last 8 games with 31 passes or less, and the Colts are 6-2 over that stretch.  With the Eagles Wentz was 18-2 throwing 31 passes or less; the more he was expected to do, the worse the results became.

Doug was never able to figure that out.  He saw Wentz as a QB who thrived on 40+ pass attempts, when the opposite was true

Doug ? You mean Howie and Lurie...

Why does Joe Judge always have something to say about another team in the division at the end of the year? 🤣 Does he not realize his team is 10-22 since he took over? Thank God all his former players have been calling him begging to play for him again.

Judge said the "fist fights on the sidelines” wasn’t in reference to Washington. lol. He won’t even own up to it.

This was hard to watch. But couldnt look away. I just watched this whole thing.

If anyone doesnt know, NELK is a youtube channel with basically eternal frat boys partying and doing pranks. Theyve evolved a bit over the years but same basic premise. Huge youtube audience. The lead guy decided last year to try doing podcasts and brought in Bob Menrey who is pretty well connected in the sports world. Bob helps get the guests for the podcast.

They typically release these podcast videos on a Wednesday, and hadnt done one in a few weeks because of the holidays but they put up an "emergency episode" today because they got Antonio Brown after his incident, before any other news outlet.

He is a nut case.

If Rodgers wants out of GB, you'd think he would want to come here with that little twerp?  Please.

There is now a rumor that Rodgers will boycott the Super Bowl if they get in. If that rumor is true he can go somewhere else.

No way? Why is that being rumoured? Like for what reason would be boycott the SB?

Don't know for sure. It's supposed to be from a "trusted source " but it could be bull crap. I'm just saying "if" it's true no interest in him from me.

When the guys who are better at Twitter get on maybe they can verify

I mean yeah I agree. To be honest I don't think I want him anyway given his age and the contract.

Boomer Esiason has a source who says that Aaron Rodgers will threaten to boycott the Super Bowl (if Green Bay makes it) over the NFL's current COVID protocols. https://t.co/YgSs860vAA

Sorry not very good at Twitter

I saw that as well, but I don't believe it. I don't think he would play this entire season just to pull that stunt. I know he's a dbag, but that's next level.

If it turned out to be true, his career would be over...not that he has that much time left to begin with.
