If the Giants don't fire Judge, they're tanking for next year in a better qb draft class?

Even if the Colts come back and win by 10, thank goodness the Eagles took what they could get for this dude. $30 million a year malcontent who needs to be propped up by an elite RB and good defense just to get to 9-10 wins.

I was on the side that wanted Ertz to stay and trade Goedert.  No doubt Goedert played well but Ertz has played pretty well for the Cardinals as well.

Going in to today, Ertz has 49 catches for 490 yards and 3 TD for the Cardinals averaging 10 YPC.

Goedert, without Ertz, had 41 catches for 614 yards and 2 TD averaging 15 YPC.

Goedert is definitely more athletic and more of a mismatch at this point in his career and it shows with his YPC numbers but Ertz showed that he is still a top TE in the NFL.  Goedert has also had some painful drops.  I also think Goedert is extremely underutilized by the Eagles.  He averaged less than 5 targets a game for the year and only 5 targets per game post Ertz.  That's not enough for the 3rd highest paid TE in the NFL.  Granted, after this offseason, he will probably be the 6th-7th highest paid TE but they still need to get him the ball more.  Same goes for Smith.  Force feed the guys you invested heavily in.

I still would much rather have Ertz for one more and a possible 1-year extension, the draft capital gained had you traded Goedert (2nd and change) plus a FA tight end and a rookie.

He doesn't even throw it to Taylor either, that's gotta infuriate him. He's a very good receiver and Wentz is just brain dead.

Correct.  All 16 game records were illegitimate until they had decades of precedent, great competition, and history with the 16 game schedule.  That was the measuring stick.  When the 17 game schedule works for 10-20 years, then the new records can matter.

Goedert is so much better than Ertz and is a beast in the run game. He’s possibly a top 5 TE.

I’m baffled how many people in here are so lukewarm on him.

Carson Wentz is exactly what I been saying since he was drafted….Average. 
 

If not for Taylor they wouldn’t even have had a shot for the playoffs.
