It has nothing to do with me not thinking Goedert is good.  He's very good.  I explained reasons for wanting to trade Goedert instead of Ertz quite a bit heading up to the draft and earlier in this season.

- spending top 5 money at TE is a luxury the Eagles IMO, can't afford.  There are FARR too many holes on defense and even WR where that money could be spent.

- The Eagles/Hurts don't go to Goedert enough to justify spending top 3 money on.  Less than 5 targets a game isn't going to cut it.

- Ertz is still playing at a very high level and I think you could have extended him for 2 years cheaper than they are paying Goedert.

- The return for Goedert would have been more than a 5th and Gowan.  I used the Hayden Hurst trade as an example.  2nd and a 5th for Hurst and a 4th.

- The next few drafts are going to have A LOT of talent at TE.

- 2022 TE FA class is the strongest position available in FA.

It has nothing to do with being lukewarm on Goedert.  It's more of a big picture, use of resources and what's available viewpoint.  If the FA class had next to nothing, there wasn't talent in the draft and Ertz was in clear clear decline, then sure it's a no brainer.

The eagles are a run first offense and Ertz doesn't block, not even a little, goedert is a good run blocker and hurts top target.

Not worth it to trade goedert and keep ertz just to save a few bucks

No this is who he is. He can be good. He can be bad. He can throw it away for his team but he can win it too. But overall he's not good enough to contend with.

Howie getting a lot of praise on social media for trading Wentz. It certainly wasn’t a bad trade, but have people forgotten Howie wanted to keep Wentz and only traded him because he demanded a trade?

Yes, they can still win the division.

Yes, they still have a chance at the division. Not a good one with Buffalo playing the Jets, but still, they need to play.

So trade Goedert, a guy in his prime, to extend an aging Ertz, sign a lesser TE to an inflated contract (because that’s how it works in FA to get good players) or draft a guy we hope can one day he as good as Goedert?

Our cap isn’t so bad that we should let Goedert go. That’s preposterous.

No. I know you want it to be different, because you’re so pot committed. But, it’s not.

Literally only won 1 game when Taylor doesn’t rush over 100.

He deserves credit for the trade and what he got. But he also deserves criticism for creating the situation.

What if Watt does it in less than 16 games?

Tech Watt did it in 15 games since he was injured this season. So Watt will do it in less games then "The GAP"

it's afreaking team game. Just because others contributed doesn't mean he was BAD every fing game. GOD I see your hatred showing.

He was not bad all season long. SOme of you are just so ridiculous

Carson just has no ability to see the game outside of each individual play. Taking that sack was very dumb.

He plays every down as if he has to make a big play. That's commendable if you want an all or nothing QB but that will also cost his team.

It’s still a 17 game season, so the fact that he missed a game doesn’t really legitimize it for me.  Staying healthy and playing a full season is part of setting records.  If this were a 16 game season, he’d have played 15 and wouldn’t have the record.

No one really cares what your view is anyways. Cheers

4th and goal Indy.

Who has the record in your opinion? Gastineau?

Wild man Willy

Today is exactly why I'm happy The guys took care of business last week.   Leaving it up to the final week to clinch can be very tricky and dangerous.

Jags make a goal line stand.

Wow.

Ertz was here a full year longer than he should have been.  Even aside from his non-existent blocking and YAC ability, he mailed the season in because he didn’t get a contract extension.

Keeping Ertz is the worst take on this board I’ve seen all week.

Texans making things interesting too

No he wasn’t bad every game. But he’s choking their season away right now.
