Don't think the Eagles dealing with Brady is going to be the problem per se. I think it's that the defense has to, to give the Eagles a chance, because the Eagles offense likely maxes out in the low to mid 20's.

Been reading the Colts board. This is a good one

This OLine has had its troubles, but all I'm going to say is - this is practically the same OL, the same RBs, the same weapons Rivers had last year and Luck had everything worse in his last year, except OL. Just watch the damn games and tell me Wentz has played well this year, tell me those stats are a good representation of what his level of play warrants AND more importantly - what you can expect from him going forward if he continues to play like this.

Wentz is not the guy. I hate watching him play for the Colts. HATE IT! Watching him play makes me miserable. It's underwhelming. It's ugly. It's disjointed, it's... miserable! I do not want to see him take one more snap for the Colts. Hell, I didn't like watching Brissett and he's a worse QB than Wentz... but I had more fun watching him than Wentz. At least there was no pretense and false hopes there and I knew noone on the Colts was actually entertaining keeping him as the long-term solution.

This team is going nowhere with Wentz at QB.

(Edit: BTW Wentz makes any OL issues look worse because he's a slow processor and decisionmaker)

This is my personal favourite:

"The Colts might as well have wiped their ass with that first round pick.

WORST case scenario was winning enough games and BARELY missing the playoffs. The Colts would have been better off riding with Ehlinger and letting Wentz rot in Philadelphia. At least they'd still be in position to improve the roster via the draft.

There is not a worse outcome to this season than this. Good luck luring free agent receivers to a Wentz-led offense too."

Some replied: "Using it to wipe their ass would've been more useful than what they actually got out of it"

People don't hate Wentz because of what they see on the field,  which is a bad football player. They hate Wentz because for years they've been saying he's a bad player and immediately are made to feel like they are crazy or don't know what they are watching. It's really just animus between fans and Wentz is the lightning rod for all of the discourse.

This.  Wentz Washers were talking smack all season about how much Jalen Hurts sucks and what a big mistake we made getting rid of their binky.

Now when the final verdict is in, and they were proven 100% wrong, they want to shut down all discussion.

Washers can dish it out, but can't take it.  They *should* be embarrassed today.

This defense doesn't match up well with any of the host playoff teams... not surprising.

That's what happens when you have no cover LBs or safeties.

Rams can't stop the run right now

Encouraging to see SF having success on the ground against LA

or the WR pass.

I doubt people stop bringing up Wentz even after the draft

Niners tie it.

The board will absolutely care less.

Okay man, i get it, if the titans GM wins it I agree he deserves it. Im not disagreeing with you. I just think it’s between him and Howie and wouldnt be surprised if Howie won.

I don’t even think howie is above the Packers GM in that award. Go look at the Packers roster this year. They been down 4 out of their starting 5 offensive lineman basically all year. He did an excellent job building up the depth on that roster to withstand that. Also let Their starting center go and replaced him with a rookie. Add on they lost Alexander, Smith for a good period of the season as well and they are their two best Defensive players. they’ve been down guys all year and yet somehow still got the number 1 seed.

Now if you want to say Aaron Rodgers is the reason I wouldn’t disagree. However he also had to deal with Aaron Rodgers being a pain in the ass whole year. He also added rasul Douglas who’s been absolutely huge for that team. He won them a game in AZ and came out of nowhere.

I’d put titans and packers GMs ahead of howie. Howie likely 3-5 range with rams and bengals GM.

Please. He got up fine and finished the series. Not a single one of his teammates, nor the refs, looked at him after that hit and thought he was hurt.

Then he got to the sidelines and realized he had a perfect excuse to make all the pressure go away and checked himself out.

Seriously, have you EVER seen any other QB take himself out of a playoff game?

Yes, the independent doctors were in on that one as well.

So, let me get this straight...

The day that Wentz blows, and I mean BLOWS the Colts playoff chance, and our draft pick simultaneously improves, some of y’all are shocked that he’s being talked about?

Of course you’re not, you’re just pissed that you were wrong about him the whole time.

Won't matter if Saints win.

49ers win, we match up against Bucs.

Rams win, but Saints hold on to win, Eagles match up against Bucs.

Mike Evans just went down.

Sheesh.

Bruce Arians may have to play WR next week.

Not that we could cover him anyway.

Rams are just imploding.

In coach of the year odds, Siriani is 6th, that’s as of January 3rd, they should be partly tied together.

What the freak are some of you talking about? I can't remember reading one post saying we should have kept Wentz. Most of us really don't care at this point, but a few of you must be ex girlfriends or something.

I get it, but I also think his relationship with the Eagles ended when they drafted Hurts.  I think that got the wheels turning on Wentz leaving.  I think it's also important to look at what the Eagles had around Wentz last year.  Injured DJack, Reagor, Greg Ward, 14 different OL combinations and so on.

I don't know, there's also just a strange snark in so many of the comments (BLG especially) and that kind of talk just rubs me wrong. Makes me think the author of tweet or thought thinks they are better than everyone else who disagrees.

It was a major F up in the relationship with Wentz to draft Hurts in the 2nd round.  Total braindead move that lead to Wentz completely melting down here.  That said Wentz did not handle it well either.

Eagles had a lot of injuries that year but they also did in 2019, 2018 & 2017 to a lesser degree.  Wentz was just really really bad last year.  On him, really bad.  You can pinpoint when it all started too when he threw that INT near the end of the 1st half against the Redskins week 1.  Wentz came out playing lights out to start the game despite really poor offensive line play the first two drives.  But after that he was spooked all game and when he threw the interception he was never able to mentally recover the rest of the game and he was awful the rest of the way that season.  I think activating Hurts to actually dress and have a couple designed plays in week 2 against the Rams further pushed Wentz's slide into a full blown meltdown for the rest of the season where he was just a completely broken QB.

I was a very huge Wentz guy.  I truly feel like if he never tore his ACL against the Rams in 2017 that we are looking at an entirely different career trajectory for Wentz as well as for the team in the years after 2017.  Worst part is in 2019 he carried that team on his back to the division title and the playoffs but then early game concussion takes him out.  It's just another what if scenario there for his career trajectory and of course the future of the Eagles.  If he doesn't get that concussion I've very positive that the Eagles win that game with how they were rolling as an offense late that season once Ward and Scott had emerged.   Wentz gets at least one playoff win and finishes the whole season and playoffs healthy playing every game.  Who knows but I bet the Eagles likely don't sign Hurts there and Wentz doesn't then follow the path he followed.

It also seems like Wentz post concussion is even less of a player of his former self than Wentz post ACL was.
