But Staley goes for it on fourth down when most people wouldn’t, so the pitchforks are out regardless of his reasoning for the TO.

Ah okay. I don't have a problem with that really. I wish I would have watched it play out so I could have contributed in this madness of a debate.

Why even bother anymore?

There's more important things to look forward to.  The Eagles have a playoff game vs the Cardinals on Monday night and we have the 7th, 10th and 15th pick in the draft.....😏

I try.  I really try to make this place fact-based.

NFL Media/Fans are out for Staley's head. Good luck kid.

Thank God we hired Siri instead.

if the chargers got the stuff and then Staley called the timeout immediately it would’ve made it much more interesting scenario. Cause the raiders have to either punt it, kick a 56 yarder or try to pick up a first to keep the ball and potentially then run it out or kick it.

If the raiders punt it then it’s ending in a tie. If the raiders decide to kick the field goal they could win it (Carlson over the last 2 years has been perfect from 53 yards or longer, perfect in Allegiant stadium since it opened last September). Or if they miss then the chargers get it around the 45 with likely 20 seconds but no timeouts unless it’s blocked which is super unlikely. If the raiders missed the field goal, the chargers might at that point just kneel so that Crosby and the raiders pass rush don’t create a turnover and make the playoffs. Or they could go for it and try getting into field goal range which means they’d need about 23 yards (with no timeouts) with Hopkins being 2-5 from 50 this year and missing every kick 51 yards or over this year. I’m guessing if the raiders chose to kick it and missed that field goal, the chargers likely just kneel it and take the tie

In the scenario that Staley doesn’t call a timeout, how does that affect the Eagles?

Facts?  Buddy, this is America in 2021, we don't need no stinkin' facts, we make up our own facts.

Lmao. Judge is strategizing how to punt on second down after only gaining a yard on first.

Other than the dolphins win Today went pretty darn great for our draft picks

He called the TO to put in his best run personnel. It really had nothing to do with saving time.

That’s what my points been. If there’s like 3 seconds left in that game if the clock runs down, i think the raiders are gonna kick that field goal anyway.

The chargers wouldve have to stop the raiders from gaining any positive yardage or gotten a loss of yardage and Staley would’ve had to call a timeout right after to create a potential punt. That’s why the chargers called the timeout to try to get that stop.

If the Raiders were just gonna "kneel it out”, then why didn’t they "kneel it out” when they had first down at the 2:00 minute warning?

1st down is -1yd.  "No Kneel down”

2nd down, " No Kneel down”, they ran it for 7 yards, to the LA 39yd line.

3rd down, Staley says F this calls TO to get his run defense on the field, again "No Kneel down” the Raiders run it for 10 yards to the LA 29yd line.

1st down guess what??  "No Kneel Down”  Raiders kick the FG to win!!!

I think all us Eagle fans need to say a little prayer tonight that they keep Joe Judge another year.

Makes sense.

This timeout-gate is ridiculous.

The Raiders were going to run the ball.  Just stop them on third down.  Game over.

They were going to run the ball, but they also seemed hesitant in real time. When they called the TO it seemed as though the LAC wanted the ball back to drive down the field and win themselves. Yes, we NOW know he wanted to make sure he had the right D called, but at the time (even to the announcers) it seemed as though they were throwing the first punch.

The TO gave the Raiders time to come up with the right play themselves, and it probably pissed them off and got them refocused. Again, they probably wanted to win if possible, but that TO did change things. It was not a smart decision by the LAC.

He’s the Jelly of the month club Christmas Bonus, the gift that keeps on giving the whole year.

Raiders could of kneeled it out with 1st down at the 2 minute warning, they didn’t.  If they kneel on 1st down and then Staley calls a TO, then he’s an idiot.

So I've got to root for the Niners against the Cowgirls... Damn I don't like that but I have no choice.

I’ve been saying if the Chargers would’ve gotten to stop (no gain or 3 yards or less) on 3rd and 4 then called a timeout, it’s not a given the Raiders don’t kick a field goal anyway in that situation.

i think the discussion about it is much different after 3rd and 4 if they got no yards and the chargers called an immediate timeout but doesn’t exclude them from kicking the field goal still. Maybe they decided to punt it and just take the tie going to KC who’s whooped their ass 2 times. Maybe the raiders say to themselves kick it. Make the 56 yard field goal (more than capable by Carlson— he hasn’t missed a kick in allegiant stadium since it opened and perfect from 53+ yards the last two years), win and make the playoffs. If the kick is missed then the Chargers get the ball around the 45. Probably going to be around 20 seconds left with no timeouts and Hopkins long this year is 50 (2-5 from 50+). but there’s a 50-50 chance the chargers just kneel at that point, take the tie and make the playoffs (i actually think it’s likely higher than 50-50 the chargers kneel that with how the raiders pass rush had been getting to herbert and a potential turnover).  The only thing that could screw it up is if it was blocked, which the analytics tell you the odds are way way way in your favor you either miss the kick wide, short or make the kick.

Could have just stayed at #11 and drafted Rashawn Slater to fill their biggest need. Idiots.

Yes, the Raiders wanted to win. That TO gave them time to come up with a different play and allowed them to refocus. They were always going to run the ball. Don't give them time to refocus and make sure they have the right play...because if they got it they were going for the

Again, they were going to run, but it benefited the Raiders and got them focused and organized, which is probably what Carr meant.

Frankly the giants were hellbent on taking a WR at 20 or if they’d stayed at 11. The trade wasn’t an issue. It wound up being good value considering bears’ Pick is a top 10 pick in 2022 (7th) and 20th in 2021 draft (should’ve taken darrisaw (actually played decently well this year 71 grade by pff)over toney). They had slayton, golladay and shepard along with barkley coming back and engram as a pass catcher. They needed OL

So Sunday it is.  I knew they wouldn't give Brady a Short Week.  So the Eagles get an extra day.   Riddle me this.   Is Brady going to shake Jalen's hand if we win?  Or is he going to run off like the did to Nick twice?

Worst NFL Head coach and it's not close holy crap

Turned out perfectly for me.  Early game so I have no issues with my timezone differences and playing TB probably gives us the best chance to win given their injuries.

Time for Hurts to show what he's made of.
