Is that why he tried to get harbaugh to leave 3 years ago before settling on hiring Flores? cause that’s what one of the reporters on Sirius said about an hour ago with Ross wanting harbaugh then.

frankly i think harbaugh is leaving Michigan anyway for the bears (former team) if it’s not the dolphins based on beat reporters in Chicago putting it out there since harbaugh rumors surfaced about leaving UM

Is it? Sirianni is getting COTY praise because he started 2-5 and finished 9-8 and in the playoffs. Flores started 1-7 and ended 9-8, just missed the playoffs because the conference is stronger.

What were each team’s expectations going into the year?

I’m pretty sure the dolphins aren’t going to come out and say it is for harbaugh. It would be a really bad look especially if they wound up somehow missing him and they fired their coach specifically just to get harbaugh.  But Sirius had a bears beat reporter on with Michigan ties. Reported last time the dolphins had an opening Ross (Michigan guy) wanted harbaugh badly but harbaugh didn’t want to leave at that time. Now he does. And bears have been linked for weeks to harbaugh (per bears beat reporter) and Ross had been flirting with the idea since news came out harbaugh would be willing to leave

My thought as well. What are they going to say? "Yes, we fired our minority coach who had back to back winning seasons so we can target Harbaugh." They would get destroyed in the media and PR side.

Spielman sure got his laugh in. No Super Bowls, but a nice Twitter dunking. Congrats.

Yup. Just shows how much the Eagles were in their heads to allow that clip to surface.

Vegas had Dolphins at 9-8. If we are comparing the two, Sirianni clearly exceeded expectations. But that doesn't discount the fact starting 1-7 and finishing 9-8 is an extremely hard feat in the NFL. How he didn't get the team to check out after losing to the Jags and Flacons back to back is a huge accomplishment. I don't think either Sirianni or Flores are serious contenders for the award though.

Sorry, Baldy. The slot receiver on the left side comes wide open and Hurts doesn’t see him even though he’s looking left. Wide open. Easy TD.

His only defense? It might have been JJAW?  LOL

Jags killing playoff dreams. Beat the colts to end their hopes yesterday. Kicked a last second field goal in London that also helped keep the dolphins out. Lol.

They may not win a lot of games, but when they do... it destroys other teams.

Including Gruden and Meyer that’s 6 coaches fired.  Some of these guys just don’t get a chance.  Fangio has needed a QB since day 1, and Flores just had back to back winning seasons for the Dolphins, first time since 2003.   Just like QB’s, coaches need time, but neither get much of it.

Before this year, Harbaugh had never beaten OSU... and that's what really matters at UM.

Frankly i don’t think Flores deserved to be fired. Which is why i already think there’s going to be a huge deal about him getting fired and being a minority coach that deserved to be given more time. His first year they were expected to tank and be the worst team. They actually were improving at the end of the year. then last year they missed the playoffs at 10-6. You usually make the playoffs at 10 wins.

tbh i think Flores is a solid coach and the dolphins biggest issue is tua is a marginal QB and they need to somehow get their young OL they drafted playing better.

I’m gonna be floored when joe judge somehow survives and Flores got fired. The two really should be the opposite.

He had a connection to the Raiders but not sure you fire a coach after they made the playoffs

Clowning the Eagles for taking Reagor.

Congrats on being a fringe playoff team after starting 1-7, I guess?

That’s like saying Hurts had a good game against the Giants because he put us in a position to win.

Anytime someone wants to bring up Speilman laughing about Reagor/Jefferson they should be reminded of this

Sam Bradford is back, and whoever takes Sunday's Eagles/Vikings game wins the breakup - On top of Philly news

Take every opponent seriously every year.   Giants beat the Eagles this year.   No game is guaranteed.

It would be a great year to be searching for a DC. Zimmer, Fangio and Flores shouldn't be out of a job long.

Yeah heard the raiders rumor too. Would’ve said them but After the raiders improbable run the last 4 weeks to get into the playoffs and everything they went through but stuck together, i have a hard time seeing the raiders move on from their coach. I’d do it anyway but i think the raiders won’t

Flores will be a head coaching hire; he did really good work in MIA

Zimmer and Fangio will likely need to return to the DC ranks.

Well, we can always remind them of this:

And they didn't make the playoffs this year either... so they can clown all they want, they are still a failure.  Getting one pick right isn't the important thing.  BUT... we can kill Howie for missing on Jefferson, because it was just so obvious!  (at least to me).

Yep. And the NFCC beatdown.

Unless Gannon gets hired as a HC (?) or  there are personality issues between Gannon and Siri- I dont see us getting rid of Gannon this offseason.
