Saints 70 million over the cap with 37 players under contract.  Only 1 player can be cut with more than 5 million in savings, and 9 players add to the cap hit if cut or traded.  This is why you do not go down the restructure rabbit hole, it only gets worse.

Gettleman has been terrible and if he's "retiring," you have to wonder if his replacement is already in house and will be just as bad.

I don't know that it's kept them from winning, signing players or competing.  I am hoping the Eagles will be able to clear space by releasing Brooks.  I think the 2 big contracts that have long-term cap hits are Slay, Cox and Lane.  Beyond those 3, I don't think there's a lot of carryover in potential dead cap beyond 2022.  I don't think the team is going to move on from Cox and Lane but I could see the team trading Slay.

Hargrave has a roughly $12M dead hit for 2023.
