From the last game vs the Bucs

Hurts had an abysmal night throwing the football, completing 12 of 26 passes for 115 yards with a touchdown and an interception, but he did finish with 10 carries for 44 yards

That was also the game where we didn't run the ball pretty much at all for the first 3 quarters.

As far as Gannon, compare to what Schwartz did the year before against a similar schedule.

Upgrades:  Nelson over the mix at RCB, Harris/Mills, Avery/Taylor over Gerry/Riley, Williams/Curry a bit of a wash.

Losing Graham was a big downgrade.

So talentwise there wasn't much difference.

Hire him before the Eagles play the Bucs, he may not get another interview after the game, they could get Zimmer or Fangio in here by Thursday, and still be better off than Gannon and 7 days of preparation.

Should be 5 viable R1 CBs: Stingley, Booth, Elam, Gardner, and McCreary at the lower end.

and Gordon is a nice R2 option.

Day 1
1a. DL Leal or Ojabo
1b. CB Gardner/Brooks or WR Burks
1c. FS Brisker/Hill
Day 2
2. LB Muma/Smith or CB Gordon
3. WR Ross or LB Clark/Beavers
Day 3
North-South RB Ford/Haskins/Allgeier/Robinson

Brady completed 80% of his passes.
Gannon better be ready. I think the new O will do better this time around.

It's more than just PC's. He seems to be a good on field teacher from the few snippits that were shown from TC and from what the reporters said. He seems like the type of guy who can lead or command a room. His defense itself leaves a lot to be desired. But its not like Sirianni was some offensive guru or bringing anything great from an offensive scheming perspective, and he's finding his way as a HC.

So basically his defense sucks, and he "seems" to be a good teacher based on team-edited videos and the reporters he schmoozes. Followed by a similar justification Broncos fans and media would write on Twitter. Sounds about right.

I think we can pick up one or two Day 2 picks if we pursue trade talks starting  with pick 15 (with #17 NO #18 and # 18 the Chargers being the highest priority targets),  That could generate a waterfall scenario.  If 15 goes to 17 with the knowledge of who NO is targeting, the likelihood is that that player would not be either Leal or Omani or Gardner or Brooks.    Successful completion of a # 15 for # 17 trade  leaves you with # 16 and # 17 and you repeat the scenario with those two picks. Dropping back two slots has historically yielded a Round 3 pick,  Here are some example trades from recent years.

49ers traded • 2015 first round pick (#15-Melvin Gordon) to Chargers for • 2015 first round pick (#17-Arik Armstead) • 2015 fourth round pick (#117-Blake Bell) • 2016 fifth round pick (#142-Ronald Blair) on 2015-04-30

49ers traded • 2013 first round pick (#31-Travis Frederick) • 2013 third round pick (#74-Terrance Williams) to Cowboys for • 2013 first round pick (#18-Eric Reid) on 2013-04-25

49ers traded • 2009 second round pick (#43-Everette Brown) • 2009 fourth round pick (#111-Mike Goodson) to Panthers for • 2010 first round pick (#17-Mike Iupati) on 2009-04-25

Why would you say the defense sucks?

We gave up 40 points twice, game 3 & 4, when Gannon is still installing his defense.

After that 33, 29, 28, 27 were the four worst games. We striggled with good QBs, shut down bad QBs.

Gannon has opened things up a little, but he lacks the personnel to be aggressive, Nelson isn't a shut down CB, the safeties lacks speed, the LBs can't cover.

Anyone watching tonight?

159 total yards.  Comical.

They can have him. Id hire Vic Fangio or now even Brian Flores as the DC in a heartbeat.

Agree on fangio but doesnt he prefer a 3-4 front?

I know you’re an alum but for those who aren’t but are Bama fans, like how do they even act like it’s a fair fight. Saban will get the best talent in the country every year from now until he dies or decides to hang them up. IMO if they’re not ranked #1 all year and win the championship, that year is a catastrophic failure. There’s no challenge.

Well we are missing one of our star receivers and two olinemen. If Georgia can get to Young they got a chance. I think they making a mistake playing stetson though.

At least the colts don't need the stadium anymore this year.
