Kuechley, finished up a 2nd teamer AP.

Yeah, I found a ton of guys who I thought may have qualified as the answer that were 2nd team all pro in their second last season.

If the Wikipedia can be trusted (Dirty Dozen):

Jim Brown, the Cleveland Browns running back, announced his retirement from American football at age 29 during the making of the film. The owner of the Browns, Art Modell, demanded Brown choose between football and acting. With Brown's considerable accomplishments in the sport (he was already the NFL's all-time leading rusher, was well ahead statistically of the second-leading rusher, and his team had won the 1964 NFL Championship), he chose acting. In Spike Lee's 2002 documentary Jim Brown: All-American Modell admitted he made a huge mistake in forcing Jim Brown to choose between football and Hollywood. He said that if he had it to do over again, he would never have made such a demand. Modell fined Jim Brown the equivalent of over $100 per day, a fine which Brown said that "today wouldn't even buy the doughnuts for a team".[12]

I corrected by original post +1.

I thought he'd be 2nd team all pro, I feel like stats like these need to be passed out to the voters who only look at ints.

Diggs should be recognized somehow for the 11 Ints, just not as a 1st Team All Pro. He’s good at one part of his job, but sheety at the rest, that’s not the best at your position.  He gets caught being lazy in coverage and that’s why PFF has him ranked so low.

It’s the equivalent of a plumber being able to take a set of prints, lay out the entire job including the walls, dig all the ditches to the correct depth for pitch on the drains, but when it comes to gluing the pipes together, nope, can’t do it.

And youre not reading it correctly

I am not a Sanders guy and I can not figure out what the hell you are talking about.  That graph says Sanders was better then expected, on Taylor's level.

Here's another one.  I will stipulate that Sanders' availability is a concern.  But on the field, he is very good.

I think he's been improved as a runner this season.  Keep in mind how poorly utilized he was in the first part of the season.  He's only had 137 rushing attempts this season.  Of course some of that is definitely due to his health.

Are the Eagles ever going to provide an update on Brandon Brooks?

He also led the league in Int return yards and Int Tds with 2.

Those are all big plays

As for plumbing I'm not sure about all that, maybe use some duct tape???

Probably when they cut him.

The graph Im referring to is below, just for clarification

Note the X Axis is expected yards per carry.  Meaning on the left, the OL isnt opening many holes and so the RB isn't expected to gain many yards

The Y Axis is actual yards per carry, self explanatory

So one would consider a very good RB to be one that gets a lot of yards with less blocking.  I.e., a high Actual yards per carry with a low Expected yards per carry.

so the most impressive RBs on this graph are in the upper left quadrant.  Theyre getting yards without good blocking

Note the diagonal line.  This is if a RB gains the expected amount of yards.

--Runners below that line are getting less than the blocking gives them

--RBs over that line get more than the blocking gives them.  Sanders falls right in the middle of the pack, slightly above.  Though his Actual YPC are high, they should be that high for an average RB

Edit: To simplify, you basically judge the RBs distance above or below the diagonal line.  That shows how effective the RB is at using his blocking

How do people here feel about this push for Sanders to play by the team? They have rare depth at the RB position, and Sanders already has fumbling issues when both of his hands are fully functional. It seems asinine to rush this guy out there for the biggest game of the season.

Never broken a bone in the hand? Likely 3/4s healed at this point if not displaced which most non surgery hand bone injuries are.  Swelling long gone at this point.

Sam Mills, Kevin Mawae, Bruce Matthews, Lorenzo Neil... guys that didn't qualify for this exercise, but were earning 1AP laaaaate into their careers.

Didn't think about Neil, the other 3 were some of my first searches.

The Colts getting all those BS pass interference calls when Wentz would just chuck it up...he went full Flacco.

Yes sometime between now and Preseason (August)  hopefully they will announce his trade.

Yep.  Eagles are thin at G with Toth going to IR. Wonder who plays RG this week.

I think it Sanders’ case, he’s a good but frustrating player because he has inconsistent vision.

I don’t agree with the narrative that he turns runs into negative yards. The issue is that he’ll miss some holes or he’ll take too long to get through the hole. Those runs go from 8 to 5 yards.

Perhaps I phrased it badly. My concern with Sanders, besides the bonehead things like running out of bounds (twice) when you're trying to keep the clock going, is that he does not take what's there on too many of his runs. When looking for the big play he drifts rather than lowering the shoulder and taking the four yards in front of him. That frustrates the heck out of me. With this line he should take what's there. Over time there will be some big play opportunities.

I notice this with Howard when he plays. He'll have a few carries for 4-5 yards, then just burst thru the hole and look like he's gone. He's too slow now to break a big one, but if Miles did the same, he could definitely get home.

I just dont feel like he is healthy enough. I certainly would not give him another contract.
