If Patriots can at least get this to 27-3 at half then BB has shown that he can come back from that in the playoffs.

Wasn't keeping up with football this week. Dolphins fired Flores? That's stupid. If we were hiring one I'd want him in a heartbeat.

My expectations are low for tomorrow, but I really hope we aren’t non-competitive like the Pats. Not only are they outclassed, but Belichick is making fourth down calls like it’s week 3.

Fans cant loose tomorrow. Win is amazing. Loose, preserves the best draft position possible in a season where we really feel like we should be competing anyway.

Not often you can watch a playoff game and not feel incredible disappointment when your season ends. But tomorrow will be pleasant no matter what. Looking forward to it.

It was, regardless of what you say, it was a wrong whistle. By RULE he shouldn’t have blown the whistle. And he should be fired for it.

It’s like cowboys fans arguing the clear recovery rule all over again. It’s about common sense.

How mad would you be if the Eagles lost a TD over a last second whistle? Would you be okay with the rule then? Stop defending the BS

Regardless if the whistle was wrong, the call CONTRADICTS this rules of the game and it sucks because the Raiders defender stopped on a pass he could have easily defended if not for the whistle.  So back at you if the Eagles lost by 3 or 4 points to that happening?

Good for the Bills. Insane group of fans and they had to deal with Brady and Belichick for almost 20 years. Hope they do well this year.

That Raiders defender had no chance of stopping that catch. Again I think it was the right decision. Complaining about that is super stupid.

I'd have no problem at all with the Bills winning the Super Bowl (well, provided the Eagles are eliminated by that point).

You are correct.  The officiating crew went against the rule as written.  Sucks for the Bengals to not have that TD, but we don't know that they get the TD without the inadvertent whistle.   Can't uphold that.

Dealing with those 4 losses during the Levy era must've been absolutely brutal.

According to the rules of the game, it was not.  Of course, who cares what the rules say.  A Raiders player grabbed a kickoff and immediately went out of bounds... why not call that a kickoff out of bounds and give the Raiders the ball at the 35 instead of the 2?

You're really dense.  This isn't a a subjective topic....the rules literally lay this scenario out.

Foot loose. Kick off your Sunday shoes.

Only 15 hours away.

It’s funny you say that.  I’ve been watching on Prime.  Still in S1.  It’s my all time favorite show.  Haven’t seen these episodes for 10+ years.  It’s like I’m watching it all for the first time again.

I did a binge of a few seasons recently, on Netflix or maybe Hulu.  It aged pretty well too.  Great show, probably up in my top 10...MASH takes the cake for me though.

Yup.

https://operations.nfl.com/the-rules/2021-nfl-rulebook/#section-2-dead-ball

Rule 7: Section 2, (o.3)

when an official sounds the whistle erroneously while the ball is still in play, the ball becomes dead immediately.

  1. If the ball is in player possession, the team in possession may elect to put the ball in play where it has been declared dead or to replay the down.
  2. If the ball is a loose ball resulting from a fumble, backward pass, or illegal forward pass, the team last in possession may elect to put the ball in play at the spot where possession was lost or to replay the down.
  3. If the ball is a loose ball resulting from a legal forward pass, a free kick, a fair-catch kick, or a scrimmage kick, the ball is returned to the previous spot, and the down is replayed.

Cut and dried.  No grey area.

McKenzie has earned himself a lot of money.

I'd be looking to score here, then giving my QB and other starters the rest of the night off.

Refs might as well blow a whistle anytime then. There was no reason to blow the whistle. That rule is in place for turnovers, players being held up, and mainly penalties. Not so any ref can blow a play dead for no reason. Again the whistle had no effect on the play. It is subjective. lets end the discussion here, because i think your dense as well.

Yup.   Rout is on.  Time to put the game on ice.

That should be it for Allen.

The argument that ultimately the right decision was made is completely biased as well.  The right decision was made....for the Bengals because they scored.  The Raiders however, multiple defenders stopped playing, which from what I saw impacted the probability of that catch.

You are 100% wrong in every thing you just said here.  The discussion will end here.   I posted the rule, and the link for you to check for yourself.

Inadvertent whistles happen... these guys are human, not robots.  And there is a rule in place for an INADVERTENT (aka, non-intentional) whistle.

Life without Brady is hitting Belichick hard. Better get used to it Bill.
