I don't disagree... but Smith should not be the lead blocker.

I disagree with the first part. I think there is a lot to be gained from making the playoffs for players who are building blocks. 

and, I think it is good to test our progress against the next level that is playoffs.  I see great value in exposing/confirming our weaknesses. 

our QB is now a confirmed weakness, especially once you hit better teams and the playoffs. Something that a reliance on the run and a string of wins against crappy teams may have masked.

Oh the defense is bad. But we already knew the defense was not good against better quarterbacks. It’s been like that all season. That’s due to insufficient draft picks towards that side of the ball or just not good draft and development. The defense really has deficiencies on all three levels of the defense 

That said in the playoffs you are not always going to be playing from in front. You’re gonna sometimes have to play from behind and your quarterback is going to need to make the throws. Hopefully hurts can start getting going because this game at 17 points isn’t completely over. Especially when you get the ball back in the second half. But he needs to start making some of these throws in the passing game and goedert needs to catch footballs.
