Trade Hurts... let Minshew start until whatever rookie is ready to step in... no need to rush it.  The rebuild is FAR from over... this playoff appearance means nothing in the big picture.   The drubbing should have made that clear.

Agree with this. They can’t go into next season with Hurts at QB. I was behind him this year because it is what it is and I want my team to win. But now, it’s over, and he should be done here.

The 2023 QB draft class is good. Roll with Hurts in 2022. If he's bad, trade up for any of them. If he improves, great.

You're gonna have to move quite a few assets into that year then because we're not tanking or picking top ten even, you may not be able to get into the top two or three.

True - I’m not sure how much Mariota will command ($3.5M as a backup this year).

That would be $3.5M to spend elsewhere, on a team that doesn't have a ton of space to make any moves.  Minshew is still on a rookie contract as a 6th round pick.  Super cheap.

The Eagles are a really dumb organization if they just hand the job to Hurts in 2022.

They won't. They know they will digress next year with Hurts in the W/L column.

Pickett would've been the 5th or 6th QB taken in 2021. Why you would commit yourself to that guy is selling yourself short.

Go big or go home.

Good excuse to tell teams when you’re shopping him. He was hurt.

F no.  If this happens Im out.

The only place where this is a realistic option is on a spreadsheet im Howie's office.

Minshew, a rookie, Cousins, literally anyone but Hurts.  Thats enough.

Not Cousins.

Trading up for a QB in 2023 is a fools errand. Most times when teams pick that high, they need a QB, and they don't pass on them for trade capital.

I just don't see it happening on the first ballot.  IMO, Dawkins should have been first ballot, but wasn't.

Wait. I thought he was?

I hope we made the Cowboys overconfident last week.

Jerry World cost a bajillion dollars, a lot of taxpayer money and they can't even design it properly so the sun doesn't ruin games.

You can say the same about Burrow, Herbert and Jones the year before they were drafted.

No one was saying this though. The concensus BEFORE the season was that it was a weak QB draft class.

wrong

Who is good in it?  I was under the impression it might not be great either.

What would you do at QB?

Honestly, they were dumb to hand it to him this year.  He did absolutely nothing to earn the job this year and didn't even have competition.  If you had an open and equal competition between Hurts and Minshew I bet you'd have a different starting QB.

But this isn't the year before Pickett will be drafted. This is the year. And that's all you can go off of. What he did in college. So not sure I get the comparison.

Wait. I thought he was?

His last year was 2011 if I remember correctly. 2016 would have been his first year of eligibility, but he got in in the 2017 class.

Fair point, but Pickett ain’t those guys.

No, you're just making something up.

Young, Stroud, Richardson, Jurkevic, Lewis. Feel good that at least 3 of them will pop. Young would go top 5 this year.

At the very least, I would let Minshew compete for the job in camp.

Not sure about the draft. No one has caught my eye. Strong has some talent, but will probably be over-drafed.

I would look at the trade options and consider Wilson/Watson. It's not often you have 3 first round picks. Make the most of it. I'm not sold on doing it, but they need to look at those guys on tape very closely.

I'm pretty sure the FO knows what they have in Hurts.

It's just a matter of alternatives and compensation.
