Terry Bradshaw today said that Ben Roethlisberg is still an elite QB.

Yeah?  I didn't say that their word was gospel.  Terry has a hard time being critical of the Stillers.  But, they have a far more basis to make a comment than ESP is my point.  ESP is a talent-less hack.   Those guys actually had a really good career, and this is their second career.

Bradshaw is clueless at this point, but Aikman and both Simms really know their stuff.

Everyone is going to pile on Hurts, who didn't have a good game, but this was a team loss, they were over matched on the road by a team with better athletes on both sides of the ball, and of course, Brady at QB.

Hurts looked lost, but he wasn't helped much, Watkins ran a number of bad routes, his offensive line struggled in pass protection (which I predicted and got naysayed), and they couldn't run the ball because TB's LBs filled holes too quickly. The speed of TB's defense just emphasized the lack of speed on the Eagle defense, especially at LB and safety.

A team that was an underdog was killed by mistakes and bad penalties, Goedert's drop of a big play, two dubious calls on Barnett and Kelce, and Hurt's not seeing the safety coming across the field on the interception in the end zone. But you can't blame him for a lack of a RB who can pick up blitzes against the best blitzing team in the NFL, Sanders running outside for losses instead of taking what was there, Watkins running outside when there was a big gain inside, and Siri throwing to Reagor on WR screens. Or Reagor muffing a punt and pretty much ending the game. Once it was 24-0, it was over.

But nothing really changed, there is no college QB in this year's draft I'm gonna waste a 1st rd pick on.

Eagles need athletes on defense, a big WR on offense b/c Watkins should be the #3, if Jackson is out for most of next year, a H-back candidate, a big RB who can catch and pick up blitzes (he can run a 4.6 for all I care, speed in RBs is the least important quality, the vision to find the hole, power to gain yards and blocking and catching are far more important). And depth on the OL.

Which is why I hope they get a 3rd for Dillard, yes, they need to hit on the 1st rd picks, but they also need a deep draft like this past one where they're finding player who can contribute in the 3rd to 5th rounds. It's would be nice to add a starting DE, but they also need depth so the 7th and 8th DL they rotate in can contribute, not just take up space.

I am more upset that the 9ers aren't scoring TDs on every drive , then I was with todays Eagles embarrassment.

I really loathe the Cowboys, and I knew we were going to get spanked today.

It’s so depressing seeing other QBs throw passes and make it look easy.

Funny you mention the word easy.  After that Cooper TD I thought to myself, when was the last time the Eagles made playing football look easy?  Everything they do seems like they have to work so hard for things.  Nothing every looks easy for them.  WR screens never work the way other teams make them work.  Have the Eagles had a deep ball where the WR is able to have YAC or are they always falling down or coming back for the ball?  Nothing is easy for this team.

49ers will win this game... book it.

Can't say anything else.  If he says anything negative and they are looking to move on from Hurts... they kill any trade value he might have.

Today's game killed that

I think Aikman was spot on about the ball consistently being thrown late.

Most frustrating thing about Hurts' game.  Even though he is starting to find the right receiver, still can't deliver the ball.

For Bradshaw to point it out is blatantly telling because of this.

Aiyuk has done more today to help the 49ers than Reagor did all season.

Reagor helped the Niners earlier this year by stepping out of bounds on that TD catch, so nice try.

You might want to wait on making such a definitive statement until you see who Howie wastes a 1st round pick on in April.   It might just be a QB.

I prepped myself all weak for an ass kicking. I had little faith in the O to score, and even less faith in the D to stop Tampa.

Still, it's a playoff game and I expected something different, nee special? In this game because of the stakes.

What did we get? Pretty much a vanilla reg season gameplan against a team whose strengths perfectly matched our weaknesses.

We're at least two seasons away from being legitimate competitors. Big changes are needed.

Howie fired

Gannon fired

Hurts traded

Raegor cut

Siposs cut

Old contracts gone somehow

We are 2 years from competing, and it will take more than a 1 year reset. Team needs two drafts and the shedding of old players on big contracts.

Cox gone, Hargrave gone, BG gone, Kelce (😥) gone, McLoed gone, Nelson gone, complete overhaul of LB corp with high picks and

and...

and...

A REAL FING QUARTERBACK

All in for Russell Wilson.

ALL. IN.

Problem is, without a franchise QB, you dont go far in the playoffs. It is the most important position in all of sports. Until we fix that position, nothing else matters.

Nothing new there.... it's been that way all year.

Listening to these QBs talk about the game and it’s a wonder any of them were any good. Except Romo.

A lot to unpack here, but:

the pass protection was excellent, especially considering Opeta was starting

Hurts was confused and panicked from the first pass play of the game.  The RBs did an extremely good job in blitz pickup

Touché

Honest question…how much uglier would today have been if Greg Ward started the game at qb?

If this team is 2 years away from competing why waste a draft pick on a QB this year when the class just isn't good. Stock up on a big WR and defensive guys. They don't need to rush to find a QB in my opinion

Hurts leaves the pocket a lot, therefore the pass protection has to be bad... even though he leaves the pocket frequently for no reason.   The OL in pass protection was fine.   They weren't great, but they were good enough.  Ironically, I think the Bucs had more issues protecting Brady than the Eagles protecting Hurts, and that didn't seem to slow Brady down much.

The ball he overthrew Smith that was picked, clean pocket, he rolled into pressure and had to elevate the ball to get it over the DE>

Throwing the ball accurately makes a big difference.
