I tend to think it would play out like Vick did. Getting Vick was very unpopular. I remember how much it was hated at the time. But eventually everyone came around and eventually grew to support him. Once the initial emotional stage wears off and he throws that first TD bomb to Smith, most will be on board.

It’s still early but if Pickett is available (without us needing to trade up) draft him.  If not, open competition between Hurts & Minshew until they find or solidify the starting QB position.

Today is a prime example of why trading picks for a QB this offsesaon is fools gold.  This D, athletically, is pedestrian.  The LB corp is both slow and small.  The DL is old and lacks ascending depth.  The Safeties are there but make difference on a game? Nope.  CBs outside of Slay are mediocre. It's a unit that shows a sustained lack of draft investment in it and an inability to add FA depth year on year. Eric Wilson as the big FA LB and he got released mid-season.

Trading 3 1st round picks (as an example) with the salary cap space it would take for Watson is what this team does not need to do.  It needs to get younger, it needs depth if it is to get away from the recent cycle of wasting cap space on filler free agents because the team is incapable of drafting and developing it's own players.  The Eagles have to understand the cheapest way to build a team is drafting players over a number of years, not spaffing draft picks on other teams players.
