The more I look at veteran QB trades, the 2022 QB draft, and the 2023 QB draft, the more I think the right move is to draft Carson Strong at #19.  As I have said before, I’m not going to die on a hill saying he’s going to be a stud, but I think he’s our best shot.

He has injury questions (which apparently have promising answers), didn’t play in an elite conference, is not a threat to run the ball, and is not a heavily hyped prospect.  That’s the bad part.

As a pure passer…arm strength, mechanics, accuracy, both a physical and mental quick release, flick-ability, willingness and ability to go deep into progressions….not only is he, by far, the best in this class, but I also don’t see anyone comparing to him in 2023 either.  His pure passing talent is in line with the Herberts and Allens of the NFL.

When we desperately need a qb…in a year with a notoriously barren qb draft (and I really don’t see 2023 as light at the end of the tunnel)…when we have 3 first round picks…why would we not bring him in with #19?

Good post.  That is the name that we are going to start to hear more about to the Eagles in the draft.  He should be there to, if they decide to stay put and draft one.  We definitely need a solution.

I agree. I think this is the most realistic QB scenario not involving Hurts/Minshew.

The first round of these playoffs should be a reminder that you aren’t going anywhere without elite QB play.  If your game plan is to compete with a lousy QB on a high value contract, then don’t bother showing up.

Derek Carr and Jimmy G are better than what we have, but they aren’t going anywhere either.  If you want to win a SB, you need a QB who is going to show up and outplay Brady, Rodgers, Mahomes, and the next generation of studs in Burrow, Allen, and Herbert.  Without that, you are just pretending you have a chance.

But I do agree that our substantial WR investment will deteriorate if we don’t at least temporarily bring someone in to get the guys involved in the damn game.

I'm good with Carr as a bridge QB.

Eagles fans might need to get used to this idea.  I’ve never believed Wilson, Watson or Rodgers have any interest in Philly and each has control over where they get traded.

Carr, Garappolo are more realistic and will come cheaper both in salary and draft capital.  Look for Cousins and Goff to be moved as well — but even I wouldn’t have interest in them.

Dak is a whiny bish

He seriously said a credit to fans throwing stuff at refs? He should be fined at least. He's a scum bag too. The ref has to touch the ball you friggen idiot and he made a heroic effort to do that through your stupid offensive line that hindered him. Learn the rules or gtfo

All I know :

Until we get a real QB, our receiving talent doesn't matter, and we have no real shot at winning anything. If Hurts is pushed back out there as our starting QB for next season, we will lose Smith and Watkins - they wont develop and in fact regress.

So I dont care if it's Rodgers, Wilson, Watson, some other Vet QB, or some long shot we take in the draft- we need someone who can at least throw the ball next year.

I've been saying this all year and finally everyone is seeing it.  There is absolutely no point in having DeVonta Smith if you aren't going to give him the ball.  If Hurts is the QB in 2022, the trade up to 10, not taking a guy like Parsons or not trading back to 20 and getting more draft capital is a terrible use or resources.  You don't trade up to take a guy and then not give him the ball.

DeVonta Smith is the Eagles #1 WR, they don't use their other WR and he still ranked 45th in receptions.

3 running backs had more catches than Smith and D'Andre Swift only had 2 less catches than him.

9 Tight Ends had more catches than Smith, one of them being Zach Ertz.

Trading up with a division rival, still allowing them to get their targeted player in Parsons, just to draft a guy who won't be utilized is horrible.  Smith was running wide open all season.  He could be a legit deep threat but they never used him deep.  He just gets open and Hurts can't get him the ball.

Watkins deep speed is an afterthought.  A real QB is getting him 1 deep ball a game.  Hell, Reagor might even get deep once in a while.

Hurts held them back this year and will continue to hold them back.

Has Reagor been cut yet? Don't think I've ever disliked an Eagle more than him.

I'm not so sure our coach recognizes who has talent and who doesn't.

It's sad because it's not Reagors fault he was over drafted, Like JJAW and Hurts etc....

It's Howies fault, and he is still here. And because he is still here, his mistakes are still here, being forced to start to try and justify his picking them.

 😞

Dak is a joke because the refs are not why they lost the game.

I’ve been all on board the "give Hurts a chance to show more improvement in 2022” train but yesterday was a true showing of his many shortcomings. I like the guy, he’s by all accounts a nice young man and has all the intangibles I wish Carson had had, but as the QB of the Eagles…he’s not good enough. I’m fully on board with Derek Carr as a bridge next year to the 2023 draft. Also, Reagor does not deserve a roster spot next year. Period.

Once they called the QB draw, they were not winning that game anyway. He compounded that play call mistake with a mistake of his own, of not giving the ball to the ref to spot, instead he handed it to his center.

But they were not winning anyway.

God bless those Cowboys.  Today is Blue Monday, but I'm in a great mood.  Who wouldn't be entertained by "America's Team" failing like that after it being their year again.

It is sad to see the NFL media now have the balls to go all in on criticising the Cowboys after weeks and weeks of slurping at them.  Oooh Dak, ooooh Zeke, ooooh Diggs etc.  Gimme me a break.  They are the same team they were weeks ago and only did well last week by running up the score for no apparent reason. F them, and their idiotic owner.

What would you trade for Carr?

I'm not so sure he has a free hand to do such things, despite the Marcus Hayes piece.  Howie is everywhere.

Hurts, Jjaw, Reagor, Brooks, Barnett and Sanders.  and a conditional 3rd.   Any combo... or all

Happy to throw Howie and Gannon in as well
