I'm really, really, really excited for this game. It will give us a much better idea of who we are. Are we actually a pretty good football team or did we just beat on an extremely bad ATL team? Lets find out...

I think this is a good test. The Niners had a very rough year last year, but they have talent throughout the roster. The defense should finally be tested from the TE position...hitting the weakness of the defense. We can also expect their offense to stretch the field horizontally and with misdirection. There is going to be a lot of pressure put on the LB unit....we will see if they can hold up...

That 2018 draft class looks pretty good.

4/5 currently starting and they one had 1 pick in first 3 rounds. Impressive.

What’s Barnett’s trade value?

I get the knee injury was devastating, but I still don’t understand how he fell to round 4 with that size and athletic profile.

Probably a fourth-round pick considering he’s a FA to be but also dirt cheap for the acquiring team.

Ok.  Shouldn’t we just hold off until Monday morning?

That would be good

Yea we’ve never gotten it wrong on the injury risk before a contract extension before.

Heard he also does the team laundry after the games, washes the team buses and makes sure everyone is checked in to their hotel rooms during away games.

In other words, Howie does his best drafting in the later rounds......sometimes.

Dawk has a new book that came out yesterday.

I see Sweat has signed a new 3 year deal. That's a great move I think.

Good question.  The knee injury was that bad but he played the entire season leading up to the draft whereas Jaylon Smith completely destroyed his leg in a bowl game yet the Cowboys still took him in round 2 just a few months later.

Happy to have him locked up, and especially glad to see they thought he was more of a priority than Barnett.

There are some good returns from drafts being locked up (Mailata/Sweat) but it also means the 1st rounders at the same position haven't panned out.  Yea, it's nice to say that Howie is great at finding talent in the later rounds but it really doesn't look good for his 1st round decision making.

I don't like the argument that just because a 4th or 7th rounder is now a starter that it makes up for missing in round 1.  I think that's a horrible take.  There's a really good chance that Barnet, Goedert and Dillard are gone next year and potentially this year by the trade deadline.   Not a good look for Howie.

Side note.  I can see the Cowboys using Jaylon Smith in a pass rush role now with Lawrence injured.

So far Howie has done a solid job of cleaning up Howie's mess this year. With a few exceptions I've liked most of the moves.

Hope you’re doing ok man

I got both my vaccinations back in February, and even got a booster earlier this month, so I healthy and wise, but not too wealthy. Being retired, I felt lucky that I didn't have to worry about losing a job like many of you probably have had to.  All in all I'm not complaining.  A win on Sunday will be a niced bonus.

Sweat is 24 and has been healthy the past 2 years. This is the correct type of risk.
