If there is a "name" QB coming in, I suspect that name is Derek Carr.   I don't love or hate that, but he is an upgrade over our current situation.

I would despise this.

You know, I’m not sure. Another serious consideration is Jameis if he hits free agency. He was having a nice year for the Saints with a ragtag group of skill players (other than Kamara).

Hell no. I don’t need that mothafer fumbling my quarter pounder while he tries to hand it through the window.

Barnett and Reagor are two sides of the same coin. Both provide a negative value when on the field. Barnett through his idiotic penalties and dirty plays, and Reagor through his lazy effort, terrible attitude, and overall ineptitude. Physically, both should be players in the league. But mentally, both are so incredibly weak/soft that they're just not good to have on your roster at all. I'll be a very happy man if neither are in Eagles green next year.

@austinfan please tell Howie to make it happen.

Better than another season of Hurts.

It's sad because it's not Reagors fault he was over drafted, Like JJAW and Hurts etc....

It's Howies fault, and he is still here. And because he is still here, his mistakes are still here, being forced to start to try and justify his picking them.

 😞

Over drafted is one thing. That guy doesn't belong in the NFL

And the interesting thing is that they were drafted for directly opposing reasons.  Barnett was a terrible, unexplosive athlete who was very effective in college and racked up stats.  Reagor was an explosive athlete (or at least we convinced ourselves he was) who was an ineffective college football player.

Howie missed on both ends of that equation.

I read an article that thought a 3rd may get it done.

Sorry- next time I'll just add that part below.

Huge inflection point type of offseason

Eagles need to start making decisions based on on-field play and not saving face for the FO

Free Agents
Unrestricted: Genard Avery, Derek Barnett, Anthony Harris, Jordan Howard, Jason Kelce, Ryan Kerrigan, Rodney McLeod, Steven Nelson, Hassan Ridgeway
Restricted: Andre Chachere (ERFA), Jason Croom, Nate Herbig, Boston Scott, Alex Singleton, Brett Toth, Greg Ward Jr.

This is incredibly unfair to Barnett. Barnett has been productive throughout his career.

Reagor is the worst WR in the NFL.

There is absolutely no way they can bring Reagor back.  Its over.  I dont care what financial penalty you pay, its worth it.

No he hasnt

Hes been given chance after chance and will be gone exactly because of his lack of productivity.

I wouldn’t despise it but I don’t think it’s the route you want to go. In order to get their carr you’re gonna have to give up assets. I don’t think the assets required to get him are going to be worth him being a bridge quarterback. I do not see the Raiders just releasing him.

The other issue in just making him a bridge quarterback is he is highly likely gonna get you stuck in a position where you’re not gonna be picking high enough to get the quarterback you truly covet and youre going to have to trade for the quarterback again which means giving up assets once again to solve the position.  If you make that trade for Carr it is really unlikely you’re gonna be bad enough to be picking high enough to just select the QB you truly covet. Which means you’re giving up asses for Derek Carr and then additional assets to just get your quarterback after Derek Carr. How many assets are you willing to give up in order to get your quarterback?

if we were going to go with a bridge quarterback in 2022 that’s not Jalen hurts then I’m just gonna go with minshew. We already gave up a sixth round pick for him so you don’t have to give up any more assets. Additionally I think it’s gonna be tougher to maneuver up the draft and in future years with less assets than what we have in 2022 to trade for the quarterback. I think the Carson Wentz trade skews how some are thinking that they’re just gonna be able to move up to get the quarterback they want. That was a unique draft where there was enough teams that did not believe in Jared Goff and Carson Wentz so the Eagles could maneuver up and they loved Carson Wentz. They might have the situation they ran into this year where they were trying to move up from six to get high enough to try to take Zack Wilson and they ultimately couldn’t pull it off due to circumstances outside of their control

Barnett is a net negative. Spin it however you want, but I believe he has more penalties than sacks. That's not near good enough, nor should it be considered productive. He's a POS and I can't wait till he's gone.

Barnett has been an adequate starter for most of his career with the notable exception of becoming a genuine liability who walks the offense forward further and more often than he drags them back.

Barnett has made some plays, I'm not sure if his negative plays =/= his positive plays. We need someone to do a deep dive to see if we get any positive from him after all his bone headed negative plays are added up.

But in saying that, then what are we really talking about? If we question it, does it really matter?  Both Reagor and Barnett seem to produce more negative plays then positive ones by the eye. & If it's that close, it doesn't matter-

Honestly, it's such a low bar that there are many options that upgrade our situation.   Carr seems like the most realistic current NFL starter option.  The team has to do something versus riding the current mess any further.

Current version of Joe Namath is an upgrade over our current situation.

My thoughts on Carr:

Would not be the longterm answer, but would give us a QB who is close to an equal of what Dak provides in Dallas, and Sadly Dak is the best QB in the division.

Again, not the long term answer, but a pretty good upgrade over what we have.

He has. He’s been called for 28 penalties in his career and 25 of them have been accepted. He has 21 1/2 career sacks.

Of the Eagles upcoming FA, what do you all want to see done?  I'm not sure any of these players are priorities to bring back.  Chachere, being an EFRA, should be brought back and was a core ST player.  Steve Nelson had a quiet but good season.  What does it take to bring him back?  Howie has proven that he has no clue how to draft CB even though there are going to be some good players available in round 1.  The rest of these players can be, and should be upgraded.
