That is how I feel as well.  Definitely more of a measuring stick than the Atlanta game.  I'm really looking forward to watching Lane and Jordan battle Nick Bosa and Dee Ford.

One question I have is whether Slay will follow Samuel from side to side.

Looked back at the snap count in week 1 and he had 54% which lead the edge rushers although they were all pretty close.  That would be a pretty significant bump in his snaps if it holds true, and also bodes well for his recovery. 

His "per snap" production has never been the question.  

EDIT: I'm assuming there was a relatively high number of clear passing downs for ATL given the score so that probably plays a factor into his high snap count.

Read that his per year salary over the next 4 years is somewhere around 24th in the league for EDGE rushers. Will be even lower as soon as 2022 when guys like Chandler get extended. 

Seems solid even if he doesn't take a step forward.

Agreed.  In my opinion, defensive end and secondary are top priorities for this team.  I also think that a three year term is perfect.  This gives the Eagles some flexibility moving forward.

Now that we've watched the entire NFC East play.  How can anyone not feel we can't win this Division?  Also like always the NFL (Clearly for ratings purposes)  Bunched all the division games at the end of the season.   Us and Dallas have 4 in a row, Washington has 5 Division games in a row Giants 4 of their last 5 is against the East.   They are setting it up to be settled at the end of the year.   The Eagles have a pretty good history recently of going "WORST TO FIRST".    The last few times we finished 4th, we came back to 1st place or second and we made the Playoffs as well:

Eagles since 2000 finishing 4th Place:

2005 4th Place - 2006 1st NFC EAST (Had a Super Bowl Hangover and then recovered the year after)

2007 4th Place - 2008 2nd Place (We didn't win the Division but made it to the NFC Title game this year and finished 2nd Place)

2012 4th Place - 2013 1st Place (Andy final season and Chips first)

2016 4th Place - 2017 1st Place (Doug's 1st Season and of course the next year Glory)

 

I like our chances.  We seem to bounce back after 4th Place finishes.

I think it’s more cause Barnett is injury prone and hasn’t really lived up to the expectations on where they selected him.

Agreed. 
 

While I think Barnett will also likely get a similar deal as a FA this off-season, I’d rather keep Sweat and draft another young DE with one of our 4 top picks to eventually replace BG.

I tend to think the eagles use 2 of those firsts. Not knowing who’s coming out or on the board I’d lean DE and CB (unless hurts isn’t as good as he was last Sunday). Use the other first to move back and get some picks for the 2023 draft so they have even more capital going forward than just 2022

Impossible. He is the worst and has no idea what he is doing. There is no way he was supposed to be able to keep our own talent, let alone sign next years draft class.

yeah i'm spoilt by his passion , the way he plays and gives 100 % every snap and game like no one at his position. but wish him the best whatever he decides. the speech at the superbowl parade was EPIC.

I’ll agree with some of that. 3k hits is great, terrific defender at 2 positions. Won a couple MVP’s, but did have a couple sub par seasons. 
The streak  is certainly debatable … should he have sat when a little banged up? Possibly… but the way load management (for pu$$ies) is nowadays hard for me to criticize not playing. Once he reached 1k in games played, managers didn’t have the ability to take him out.

That would be my dream scenario. Injecting a young real difference makers on the DL and CB will go a long way to having this defense set for years. And agreed flipping one of the firsts for future draft capital is always a great move to be able to make a move for the right opportunity.
