The qb situation is a huge weakness for SF.  That’s not to say that one or both can’t go off on us, but it’s a weakness that will crush them eventually, against someone.

Youve got an OK vet looking over his shoulder and coming off the field for the guy he knows they want to hand the keys to.

No one knows, including Garapolo, exactly what they’ll do if he struggles badly in a game.

The key for our defense needs to be to turn that 2 headed qb mess against them.

Didn’t realize I could run it any time.  Running now.  Subscribed and added like and a comment. Pretty easy to do.  Even able to use my name from in here. Now I viewed the day is was set up so does this get counted as a separate view by YouTube?

I'm pretty sure it does

Ok... if Sweat can maintain that level of play for the full season, then this deal is 'an absolute steal'.

No. Sweat didn’t earn that paycheck.  You could argue JM didn’t earn his yet either.    It’s the Lowie way.  Draft like crap, pay any young players and hope.  If JM turns into a good player they just lucked out.  I think he can, but it would be more a testament to him and Stoutland than Lowie.  No chance Lowie knew JM was going to perform, even up to this point.  I like Sweat but he hasn’t really shown it yet.  I hope he stays healthy and is a 10 sack guy for 5 years. We’ll see.

Agreed with all that. Don’t think Barnett is as bad as people make him out to be on this board. He’s been solid, I’d be reluctant to give a big extension unless production greatly improves this season.

So more than likely we see Barnett walk in free agency for a comp pick. I think he’s set to be a FA after this season.

Similarly to Mailata and Dillard, Sweat and Barnett occupy the same spot on the field.  All of Sweat’s 2020 sacks came from the RDE position where Barnett normally does his work as well.

Can Barnett play the LDE position when Graham is finished?

FL is a poor tackling team

No. I get that.  I just don’t understand the premise.

We won't be making millions... I think the idea is some would like a chat room instead of having to refresh the game day thread every 2 minutes to talk about what is going on plus being able to watch it together while chatting on the same feed. I could be completely wrong about this as well lol. Except making millions that won't happen lol.

How has Reuben Frank not posted yet that extrapolated over playing 100% of the snaps he’d have 15 sacks a year??

Is that factoring in a 17-game season?!?!?!

Sweat moved around a lot against Atlanta... which is something to watch for the future.

A lot of us thought that the Mailata deal was why Goedert was put on hold. I wonder how much of it was Sweat blowing up in camp. They decided they needed to get ahead of things with him because they expected a big year out of Sweat.

The TE market should be more stable throughout the year.

It's past Roob's bedtime.  No worries, he'll be on it before the kickoff tomorrow.

Alternate tweet

”Josh Sweat in his first three years has on a per snap basis outperformed players such as Michael Strahan, Jadeveon Clowney and Bill Hewitt.”

Anyone can put perform Clowney

Sweat and Mailata both got >10m per year deals before they ever did anything.  Anything.  Neither had ever really started a game by design, only as a backup stepping in.  That's just reality.  Both have some injury questions.  So nobody twisted their arms to sign these deals.  If they play up to what a collection of Eagles fans expect from them, then of course, it's a bargain.

Now, Mailata's first game as a real coached up starting LT was a huge success.  Both Sweat and Mailata are in the top 5% of raw measurable attributes for their positions...both premium positions.  So the coaches likely advised Lowie that they felt these two were ready to take the next step from raw talents to polished producers.

NVM... I am not reading what you wrote... Mailata was signed prior to Game 1.

Disregard.

Good question, Eagles cross train Olineman, don’t see their Dends changing sides often? Would they attempt to move Sweat especially if BG calls it a career.

Watch the All-22 that Fran Duffy did.  He highlights 6 plays with Sweat.  I think it was 3 on both sides... definitely at least 2 on the defensive left side.

Never understood having a white our game and then the away team wearing white.

It is bizarre.   If PSU was in all white as well, it would make more sense.

I wouldn't be in a rush on Goedert.  The game logs may not show it, but he hasn't been the most durable guy for us.  He turns 27 this year.  Zach Ertz, as a solitary example, is a less physical finesse TE who we have left for dead at 30.

I'd even be open to doing something crazy like tag & trading Goedert for a far better pick than Ertz would have fetched, scraping 1-2 more years out of Ertz, and drafting a big, athletic TE around round 3 this year.  Saves money and might even be a net neutral or positive in the draft capital ledger.

Will do.
Do Eagles attempt to re-sign Barnett with Kerrigan and BG near the end?
