He's also a captain who brings the energy up. Fluke injury too. Ugh. That's upsetting not only because he's been a good player for us but a team that's up against the cap....at his age with an injury like that. Idk what to think

All the other deep throws (think there were at least 3) were ducks and allowed the DB to make a play. He has yet to really show me anything, but I'm not closing the door on him yet. Give him and Siri time to see how they grow together and how they each evolve. Hasn’t shown you anything? Tough crowd.

I would like to see more passes to the left, and over the middle... and some intermediate depth. Absolutely... of course, a good percentage of the posters here have already made up their minds about Hurts, even though to my mind it's still an open question... Did he build on last week, absolutely not... does he need to improve in some areas, absolutely so... is it time to scrap the Hurts era and move on, of course not...

No Ertz today and a game plan that seemed to ignore Goedert entirely until the 4th. Yeah but it won't matter if those guys have to keep coming back for the ball.

Might as well have been Nate Herbig. They used a 2nd round pick on this guy when there were players on the board who would have made this defense better. I expect him to be good, even as a rookie. Also, I don't want to see an extension for Dallas Goedert.

September 19, 20214 yr BG gone Brooks probably out for a while Hurts limitations being evident Siri being Siri Brutal schedule ahead Geez, it's like staring at the abyss.
September 19, 20214 yr Overall, I am not surprised by the end result today. I thought that Sirianni called too many deep throws today and not enough intermediate throws. Maybe attacked with the run a bit much. Eagles linebackers aren’t very good. Plenty of back ups and no starters but they held SF more than I expected. If Graham is lost for a long period, that hurts. Dickerson settled down after a rough start. Hopefully though Brooks injury isn’t serious. Where is Kerrigan? Saw more Tarron Jackson than I would have liked.

September 19, 20214 yr Hurts obviously has this year to take the job or not. But, if we’re being completely objective, only 2 weeks in, he very much has an uphill climb.
September 19, 20214 yr Blaming this on Hurts alone is just pushing your own agendas. He was the victim of poor play calling and the o-line struggling. He certainly didn’t do anything to win this game, but the loss comes down to coaching and mental mistakes (namely penalties).
September 19, 20214 yr My biggest gripe with Hurts all day was not taking the easy first down to Goedert on third down in the first half. He looked like the first read and Hurts didn’t take the easy completion at the sticks. It was a simple read and throw, and he refused to take it. No idea why.

He was missing some pretty open guys because he was already decidning to leave the pocket. (sometimes forced, some times not) The issue is, can he improve? I think he can, I just doubt it will be good enough. I would rather have a pocket passing QB who can run if he has to, then a college option QB.

I think he's got a good arm to a certain point. Like the Reagor throw was beautiful and so was the Quez throw but I'm not sure id class them as absolute deep shots. They were decent length absolutely but he's not going to throw 50+ yard dimes.
