Fine, I'll rephrase.  He hasn't shown me enough.  Yeah, it's still very early and a small sample size, but he clearly has limitations that he is going to need to overcome to be a solid steady starting QB.  The lack of throws to the left or over the middle are a concern.  When a QB isn't using the whole field it makes the D's job easier to defend him.  When he can start to do that then we can reassess him. 

 

Side note, from the broadcast, it seemed like half the crowd was SF fans.  Heard some Niners chants too.  Not too often you hear away team chants at a home Eagles game.

That was the Philly Ordinary... nothing "special" about it.  Only one target in the end zone.  Either someone missed an assignment, or someone drew up a terrible play.

If he is struggling to get it out in front of them then he needs to just let it go sooner. He doesn't necessarily need a rocket arm just needs to make the decision to throw it sooner if he can't get enough on it

My initial reaction was that it was a garbage call.  And it probably was.  But having the ball in your WRs hands who was a college qb with the option to pass…it’s not the worst design, just didn’t work out there.

Or maybe Hurts couldn't figure out what was going on underneath and then defaulted to the post route.  Some of those tosses where late in the progression, as opposed to the throw to Watkins, which was hit the back foot and throw.

I know he didn't see Goedert underneath on the third down incompletion to Smith before the first FG.

How could he not have seen Goedert, he was the closer receiver on that play, he had to throw it over Goedert to get the ball to Smith

Yup.  In real time you could see several instances of player mistakes.

But this doesn't make sense. I mean look I'm not disagreeing with you. In fact the last 2 weeks there hasn't been a lot of across the middle stuff so that supports this. But I thought stuff across the middle was meant to be the "easier" stuff for an NFL QB.

AGreed, he has 15 more games, we aren't going anywhere, lets see how he progresses. I just have my doubts. Doesn't matter, we still have to watch the next 15 games
