Yup.  In real time you could see several instances of player mistakes.

Sure. You’ll always find execution errors.

Playcalling is kind of important. We saw it today.

Gee, Manu, thanks...  play-calling is kind of important...  who knew...  thanks for hooking me up...

Graham should be saluted for his career with the  Eagles, but don’t get too beat up about it; it was time to move on anyway.

When you hang on to players well into their 30s, their careers end on IR.  It’s the way it goes.

How could he not have seen Goedert, he was the closer receiver on that play, he had to throw it over Goedert to get the ball to Smith

No idea.  Two yards of separation at the marker.

Not sure if Hurts will ever be able to consistently "see" the field.

Don't think the Steelers will be having any short yardage issues this year.  My goodness.

As disappointed as I am with SIrianni, at least he's not Arthur Smith

Are you sure Sirianni call ALL of the deep throws?

Or maybe Hurts couldn't figure out what was going on underneath and then defaulted to the post route.  Some of those tosses where late in the progression, as opposed to the throw to Watkins, which was hit the back foot and throw.

I know he didn't see Goedert underneath on the third down incompletion to Smith before the first FG.

I am sure there was a deep route on each of those. Whether the primary route is speculative but I suspect so.

I blame today’s loss on both Hurts ( Reagor had a step on the guy probably for a TD ) and Siriani ( for calling a pass on 1st and goal at the 3, stupid call on 4th too )

At least we got SOMETHING out of him.

He won’t be a starter in the league in 2 years, if not sooner.

But this doesn't make sense. I mean look I'm not disagreeing with you. In fact the last 2 weeks there hasn't been a lot of across the middle stuff so that supports this. But I thought stuff across the middle was meant to be the "easier" stuff for an NFL QB.

I don’t think he confidently sees the middle of the field. Too many bodies.

No problem. You seemed confused.

Hurts struggles with the middle of the field.  I don’t know how many times that needs to be said.  He doesn’t read the field well.  He’s not a good QB. He’s a good football player, teammate, athlete.

to date- I agree

He struggles everyone besides along the right sideline.

Yeah I mean I think they need to work on that because I thought that was meant to be a pretty big staple of the Sirianni offense.

Well he is only 6 ft that makes it harder to use the middle of the field. It takes a good veteran QB at that height to see the throwing lanes like Brees and Wilson.

If you’re blaming the QB because he missed a player 50 yards downfield who was only open by a step, you’re probably on the wrong track.

The question IMO with Hurts is, have we seen what he does best?  What exactly does he do best?  He's a good runner.  He made some nice throws today but as noted, he also missed on some passes.  I'm still confused with what kind of offense they are trying to run with him.  Where are the crossing routes with Smtih and Watkins?  Where are the plays getting Reagor in space?  Any tight end seem routes?  Bubble screens gone?

It's too early to know what we have in Hurts.  If he was someone you build a franchise around though, I think those traits would have flashed by now.  He has the intangibles no doubt.  I just don't know what he does better than the rest.

Yeah, I wish I had the answers to some of these questions, but I don't... which I guess says something in and of itself...  I guess at this point I'm more hopeful he'll improve in the areas he needs to, than I am convinced he will...

Yeah but Wentz got hurt so

I know but either way, I want the pick near the top of whichever round.

Blaming this on Hurts alone is just pushing your own agendas. He was the victim of poor play calling and the o-line struggling. He certainly didn’t do anything to win this game, but the loss comes down to coaching and mental mistakes (namely penalties).

There were a few times where he just held the ball too long

Side note, from the broadcast, it seemed like half the crowd was SF fans.  Heard some Niners chants too.  Not too often you hear away team chants at a home Eagles game.

Crowd was doing great in the beginning. It messed up the 49ers rhythm. Lol maybe the crowd was gassed out too because they didn't seem to get that loud later in the game

Just to underscore.

I like that he takes the blame. We'll see if he works on that to fix it and it's not just talk like Doug did

It’s torn, they know it.

I had this as a "L" before the season.   Had this as an "L" before the game, but was starting to talk myself into how they could win.  And in the first half, they were the better team for 28 minutes, but only came away with 3 points.  Gross.

I called this as a loss in my season projection and in my prediction for the score this week. I expected it to be relatively close and it was.

Would have been nice if we hadn’t beaten ourselves. Should have been up 17-0 at halftime. Frustrating as hell.
