If a quarterback was average for half the season and MVP like for the half of the season he likely wouldn’t get it. just so you know Russell Wilson last year was an MVP candidate and likely lead mvp candidate for the first eight games of the year. He wasn’t nearly as good in the second half and guess what happened? He didn’t win the MVP because of it

The fact that you can’t even admit he didn’t play well for the first 2.5 quarters of that game is pure lunacy on your part. Want to talk about totality, you can’t even recognizing the first half he didn’t play well

No, I'm saying if at the end of the season, one QB has better total numbers than other candidates, but for the first half, he was just average (meaning he compensated for it with an exceptional performance in the second half of the season.

For example, the top two candidates are as follows:

Player X has 4,000 yds, 45 TDs, and 10 Ints

Player Y has 3,800 yds, 40 TDs, and 15 Ints

But for the first 8 games, Player X had 1,600 yds, 18 TDs, and 7 Ints, then over the second half of the season he had 2,400 yds, 27 TDs and 3 Ints.

Meanwhile Player Y was more consistent and played equally well in the first half of the season as the second half of the season. Who gets the MVP in your eyes?

Too many of you are thinking way too simply. It's not running QB vs pocket passer anymore. You can have both.

This is the correct answer.

And, in fact, the best tend to do both. Doesn’t matter if you’re talking about Steve Young, Aaron Rodgers, or Patrick Mahommes. It’s been almost thirty years now since the athletic running QB who is also a legitimate threat as a passer became the norm.

Real fans have no problem talking about players on the team they support not playing well.

For example, Derek Barnett is an idiot, was over drafted, and can leave after this year.

Is that Ok to say because it is not Jalen Hurts  ?????

The only people pretending there are Hurts fanbois in here are the "real fans" who apparently get off on trolling their own fanbase or just want to come off as know-it-alls by ishing on our players

Literally no one is arguing with you guys.  We all know Hurts has deficiencies, some of you guys are just being over the top to get a rise out of people

Why is it that the "Pro-Hurts" crowd gets so damn emotional when someone isn't on board?

You guys must be vegans, too.

It's only Tuesday and I think I have heard "he's really, basically a rookie" 20 times now. They are still in the denial stage. By next offseason most should be at the bargaining stage.

Thanks for proving my point.

Now tell me the huge list of players I "ish" on.

How about I just tell you to STFU unless you have something to contribute?

Yeah, Ill just do that

I was called some colorful names this off-season for bringing up Hurts’ less-than-ideal arm strength. The 49ers game, played in perfect weather, certainly seems to show my concern was valid.

What’s strange is that his arm looked fine against ATL. It didn’t seem to have the same pop against SF.

Sub-optimal arm strength is not a deal breaker. Plenty of QB’s have succeeded in the past with lesser arms. It does make life more difficult, though.

The one to devonte was under thrown when he had a step on his guy. Brian Westbrook was most frustrated with that one because he said all he had to do was set his feet and he would of been able.to.get enough on it because he had a clean pocket. Instead Hurts ran around in the pocket then heaved it unbalanced with no defenders around him.

So is your idiocy

F off, go cry in TATE about Hurts

One of his biggest fans and Wentz's biggest hater on this board blamed the Oline for Hurts problems. Even though he said how many times for an entire year that Hurts played better behind the same line Wentz had.

This sheet is annoying as hell.

Fun day in the Blog.

And youre "hardcore TRUE fan" who views himself as the real fan because you constantly ish on all of our players and tell us how they really suck....you know, like a true fan does, because youre so hard and objective.

Not like all those pro-Eagles losers who think the players are good.  You know better, because youre a real fan

Well of course because it is easy being a Negadelphian. If a player sucks then you were right all along and if that player turns out to be great then it doesn't matter that you were wrong, because you end up winning in the end.

That is why so many people are like that - they can say all the crap they want and just never be wrong.

Hurts is doing better than expected, but last week wasn’t good enough to keep the job long term. There’s 15 more weeks (plus more if we make the playoffs) to decide if he’s the guy.

We don’t need to have an answer right now.

Maybe. I feel like Gannon's just putting lipstick on a pig.

You guys think Milton can be a star at DE?

At DE, no.  I think he's Aaron Donald light, but I think you have to keep him at DT to get the best production out of him.  I honestly think playing him at DE is going to waste his potential.

But for the first 8 games, Player X had 1,700 yds, 18 TDs, and 7 Ints, then over the second half of the season he had 2,300 yds, 27 TDs and 3 Ints.

Meanwhile Player Y was more consistent and played equally well in the first half of the season as the second half of the season. Who gets the MVP in your eyes?

first off your argument of 18 touchdowns to seven interceptions is not average. That is nearly a 2.6:1 touchdown to interception ratio. That means you are finishing with 36 tds and 14 ints. That’s close to top 5 qb numbers. Touchdown wise that was tied for 5th most

second your argument lacks variables. So what if player X is playing 4 the worst teams in the league the last 4 weeks down the stretch and putting up those numbers. meanwhile player y is playing two Sb contenders, playoff team with a much harder schedule and putting up similar numbers to player x. Then yeah I’m gonna give it a player y.

I am just telling you last year Russell Wilson was putting up numbers in the first eight games in a year where he was the lead dog for MVP.  Russ was cookin and everyone was talking about how he was going to win his first ever mvp. He still played well down the stretch and have as good numbers and he didn’t win the MVP because Aaron Rodgers played like an MVP from week one all the way to weeks 16 outside of a game or two

third want to talk about totality, basically in that Super Bowl game you just eliminated 2.5 quarters of play and then claim you look at the totality of the performance.  No you just ignored more than half the game cause you wanted to just put it on the ravens defense and ST like kaepernick wasn’t underwhelming for a 2 and a half quarters. The 2.5 quarters mattered in the outcome of the game. Like if the Eagles came out and played well for 40% of the game and the other 60% of the game they were underwhelming and not very good but they almost won would I say they played well enough to win? No cause for more than half the game they didn’t play well nor deserve it

My argument is I’m taking a 2.5 quarters he didn’t play well and the 1.5 he did play well saying it wasn’t good enough to win a sb. Defense or st aside, he was also part of the reason they were down 28-6

i’m done having this conversation. Have a good day.

Boy I sure hope they come to a resolution with this Gabby Petito case, soon.  I am tired of hearing about my wife obsessing over every little detail.  I kind of miss hearing about pumpkin spice this and boney bunch (yankee candle) stuff that.  It's amazing how much more of an expert than the FBI she has become.

That case is incredibly sad, frustrating and absolutely crazy on so many levels. It’s one giant dateline story waiting to be told by Keith Morrison.
