I do not think it applies to the Kaepernick Super Bowl argument.  He played poorly in the first half, and the second half did not start well, if it was not for the game stoppage, he probably never gets on track.

Who are player x and y ??

FYP

Thank you that’s exactly what I told him originally.

his player x and y is a made up hypothetical that actually kind of reflects what happened to Wilson last year where start of the year he was amazing and everyone’s mvp. Then he was still good not great second half and didn’t finish top 3 in mvp voting. Only difference is it’s reversed when he played like an mvp. Wilson had more passing tds then Allen and mahomes and still finished behind them and was almost everyone’s mvp through 8 weeks

The route was wrong in the first 15 yards, which is why the last 15 yards led to him being pushed out of bounds.

Even then should have been illegal contact as the DB bumped him far past 5 yards, should have been an obvious flag for illegal contact whether reagor ran the route correctly or stepped out, the illegal contact happened far before he stepped out.

I’m all about Hurts getting a fair opportunity to show the necessary progress to keep the job, but hell no he should not get 5 years like Wentz.

If he doesn’t make a giant leap this year, time to start on the succession plan.

I think that’s really always been the plan once the season began. It is much better if he makes that leap. However if he doesn’t i think the eagles will either draft a QB high or they will trade for a QB

Good stuff from some young guys.

Davion Taylor, Milton Williams, Mailata, Quez, Gainwell all looking good so far. Would be nice if Taylor could stay healthy.

Devonte and reagor we're both open more than the stats reflect and got to give a shout out to reagor on his chip block on knocking Bosa on his ass.

2-part stat of the day:  Through 2 games, the Eagles have the 27th most passing yards in the NFL and Jalen Hurts leads the Eagles in rushing.

Question of the day: is this the "new era" offense you want?

As concerned as I am about the current QB situation, I don't want to force it either.  However, the second they decide that Hurts is not the guy, I think Lowie will force a splash at the position.

On pace for 1200+ rushing yards.

It's a problem.

Yup that’s kind of what i see happening too if hurts isn’t the guy

How is Luries head not exploding?

That's a very apples to oranges comparison made by ESP.  Wentz was traded up for in the draft as the #2 overall pick, because they believed he was going to be their guy for the next decade.  Hurts, by comparison, was a 2nd round pick that 'fell to them' and they drafted (according to them) to be a backup, ready to play in case of injury to Wentz and to be a 'tinker-toy' gadget player in the mold of Taysom Hill.  (Their words, not mine.).  They haven't shown any inclination to make a long term commitment to Hurts.  So, he has a shorter rope to work with to prove himself.  That's just reading the tea leaves they've left behind.

As for the 5 years that Wentz was given... Wentz emerged as a top MVP candidate in Year 2, he didn't get 5 years to prove himself.   He had already proven himself.  That's when the "Wentzylvania" stuff started.  The 3rd down conversions and red zone efficiency was through the roof, and his 'recklessness' turned into pots of gold as we witnessed on Monday Night against Washington, Thursday Night in Carolina, etc.  He was great that season and everyone was on board... everyone.  Then he was injured in LA.  And the hope was always that he could return to being that guy, and we still saw flashes of it from time to time.  And that was why they gave him the contract extension they did.  But, he only got one down year after that to be given the hook.

Hurts will get this season and if there aren't signs of improvement (as deemed by the coaching staff and front office) they will look to move on.  And depending on who might be available, they might move on anyway (like the Chargers chose to do with Phillip Rivers when they had Drew Brees (also a second round pick).

I was still surprised we didn't see. Is he injured?

The DB had his head turned around to find the ball, and ran his own path... there was nothing illegal that the DB did.  That was great coverage.

Reagor allowed himself to be redirected out of bounds, because he didn't give himself enough room to operate.  His initial stem was wrong, and the result was what happened.  DB did his job.  WR didn't.

Not injured. Your guess is as good as mine. I've heard Shanahan didn't love the idea against us with our DL.

I was under the impression Lurie liked a passing offense.

Shame ESP doesn't.

I feel like Jimmy g needs his running game being highly effective for him to be at his best. The fact they have Mitchell, sermon (doghouse and concussion), cannon and hasty rotating is not good enough. Week 7 when Jeff Wilson comes off PUP is going to really help that team. Mitchell was great week 1 cause it was the lions. And really without his big run of 38 yards he was averaging just 3.7 yards per carry. They also need to figure wtf is going on with aiyuk. Hes way too talented to not be getting snaps. Their passing game really consists of deebo and kittle. Everyone else is jags at the moment cause aiyuk is in the doghouse

Hell no! I want the triple crown. He needs to lead us in receiving too!

Well he’s 4th in targets out of the WR’s.

Stoll beat him out in preseason, which pleased me; not because I dislike Rodgers at all, but because I saw some really good stuff from Stoll.

I was also pleased the kept Stoll.  I think having Stoll is better in the long term.

Hopefully he won’t lead us in tackles.
