I have no rationale other than this is the first game since November 2005 that I'll be watching (at home) without my trusty companion, McNabb (Jack Russell). He didn't wake up on Monday. I need them to do this for him.

That sucks.  Sorry for your loss.

Yep.  We put our beagle down this past Jan.  Crushed us both.  Hadn't been that upset since my dad died in 2017

We named him Lito....because of a certain player and a pick 6 against that ghey team.

Are you referring to the game when T.O. came back to Philly for the 1st time as a Cowboy?

Thanks guys. Hadn't cried in years, maybe decades. Hitting me hard.

Don't rush the process.

Did he get banned? I avoided this place for several months during the offseason so I can be out of the loop on some things.

I believe so

If they’re the Captains based on the talent of this team shouldn’t they be wearing their brown pants?

Somewhat surprised that needed to be clarified.  But....yes.

I was at that game will never forget. October 8th, 2006. OD OD OD OD chants. People burning TO jerseys everywhere in parking lot. Fans peed all over a Cowboys bus. What a memory.

We still have our basset.  But he might have 1-3 years left.  My wife keeps saying that she'll want to wait a while before we gets another one.  I would want one right away.

The Beagle was her shadow and best friend.  So who knows.

We got a puppy in January to try and keep him young, and we knew the end was likely near. They got along great.

Makes it easier. Not sure I'd have the strength to get another dog right now.

About a 1 1/2 years later, we were talking about the puppy beagle we were going to buy and what we should name him.  That game was on replay of the NFLN and we were watching it in bed.  That's when we came up with the name.

Had to clarify because it was that game bc of Lito's pick 6 against the cowboys in Dallas. He was a certified cowboy killer.

I would bet on T.O.

I was thinking about a pocket beagle. Anyone have experience with that breed?

When we got McNabb in 2005, we were trying to think of a name. When I suggested McNabb, my wife (fiancee at the time) had one rule -- I couldn't yell at McNabb the player during games and confuse the pup.

I spent years complaining about "Donovan" during games.

I don't understand your question

I would take the under on number of rounds the fight would last and over on the number of times McNabb throws up.

Obviously.  But who cares.  It's bottom feeder ish.

Maybe I'm a bottom feeder, did ya ever think about that?

I have a Jack Russell/Beagle mix, and he's pretty awesome. Weighs 28 lbs, is a good size for my apartment living. We do a lot of walks though, and like any good beagle, 95% of the walk is spent with his nose on the ground. The other 5% he's looking for food, the source is irrelevant.

Call me superstitious but I don't like this so will be avoiding betting the spread

He tries so hard to be funny and edgy.  In reality he's corny an unoriginal.  He's best on ignore.  Until someone like you quotes him.

Nah....you're not.

Sorry about that.

Our beagle was relentless at dinner time.  So bad.  I thought baby gates were in our past.  Not when you have a beagle.

I call it red lining, and yeah it's insane. He's trained enough that I can send him to his crate and he'll wait. But if I don't send him away he'll try everything he can to get at your food. Kids are easy targets, waving egg mcmuffins around like a giant dog treat. He can't resist. Add in the Jack Russell tenacity, and we can't do dog parks any more because certain people think they need to feed every dog in said park. They look like the crazy pigeon lady from Home Alone. Anyway, food inevitably gets dropped, and he's ready to scrap any dog, any size for it.

I grew up with lab retrievers, who also are food crazy, but so gentle and soft compared to this Jack demon. The personalities on dogs is just amazing.

I would buy that fight just to see the confused look on McNabb's face after the fight ends in a draw.

I thought about spicing up the weekly predictions and if you knuckleheads make this a hell I might just scrap it. But for now, everyone can make ONE weekly hot take, cold take, random prediction or ITYS that I will track along with the scores.

General Rules:

  • This is purely optional and for entertainment purposes, if you want to just give a score that's fine.
  • If you do decide to give a prediction or take, indicate in someway what it is. Giving a long prediction with several different things with your weekly score predicition is fine as a discussion piece, but if you want one of them to be official, let it be known.
  • Try to keep it somewhat short. Lock to win, Lock to lose, blowout, Eagles score 30+, Eagles give up 30+, Hurts will throw 4+ TD's, Sanders will rush 100+, Eagles cover, Sirianni is shown playing RPS on sideline etc etc.
  • Try to not go too off the rails with your takes or predictions.
  • Your takes and predictions will be recorded and shown for all to see. Deleting posts after the game won't matter. Prepare for Crow or Bragging Rights. Make your predictions carefully.

Very sorry to hear that.

Our beloved boxer Jessie passed away earlier this year, aged 13. She's the fifth we've had over the past 35 years or so, and it never gets any easier.

I suppose there is a crumb of comfort in that McNabb evidently had a long life, and it sounds like he passed on peacefully. In time, you'll have the happy memories to look back on, but I know that right now you are really hurting.

Best wishes.
