By run, I mean the playoffs.  But yes…the SB doesn’t happen without HFA.

The run includes HFA.  The Eagles barely got past Atlanta in that first game.   Without that game at home, I don't think there's any chance they win that game.

Well, Wentz is wasn’t a part of that SB run.  Just the regular season, which, admittedly, was a crucial part of HFA and the run.  But still…one great regular season, a couple OK ones, no playoff production…that’s not great unless we are just going to say that anyone who contributed in any way to the SB was automatically worth the investment (ie Barnett, Agholor, etc).  All guys who helped win a SB but are generally disappointments for their draft investment.  Wentz very much goes in that category.

I think everyone can agree without Wentz we do not sniff that SB in 2017. Yes that goes for a lot of players that year BUT Wentz played a very key role.

Would I give up a 1st, 2nd and 3rd to swap my 8th pick to get the 2nd pick and get a SB win out of it? Yes, every single time.

Lets also not forget because we drafted Wentz we landed a 1st rounder back for trading Bradford. So in the end we swapped 1st rounders and gave up a 2nd and 3rd for a SB. Worth it.

Which that is what this conversation is about. Was Wentz worth the resources which if it resulted in a SB then yes it was.

What the heck is HFA?

Home field advantage.

Mac Jones having a really rough time in his 3rd start.

27.6 QB rating, 10/21, 105 yards, 0 TD and 2 INT including one brought back for a TD just now.

I’m the one who cares too much but this 4 for 4 clown can’t stop quoting or reacting to my every post 😂

I’m not trying to diminish anything Wentz did in 2017.  But it was one year.  If we are going to say that he was "worth it,” then that’s the same rationale that any other player who was on that roster was worth it, simply because of the overarching "first super bowl” argument.

They were.  Many of us didn't think we'd ever actually live to see a Super Bowl victory.  Friend of mine passed away the following summer.  He got to see one.

Meanwhile, Carson misses a wide open Pittman in the end zone

I’m sure it was someone else’s fault.

Colts take the 2nd half kickoff down for a FG.   Titans 14-13 Colts.

Wow prater about 2 yards short on a 68 yard field goal and then the jags return it for a td

Just watched the highlight on NFL.com.  Did ARI not learn anything from Alabama?  The dude who returned it had a 102yd TD KOR last week.  Where do other teams find these guys?

Ben looks washed.

It’s the cardinals and jags so IQ level isn’t up to snuff. Plus you also got the jags kicker shanking the extra point right after

Haha I know when we played rugby we’d eat simple sugars at half for quick energy boosts…jelly beans usually but skittles would work too

I would have taken CeeDee Lamb over Chase if I had a choice in the draft.

KC OL still a joke

Phillies trail 1-0 in the top of the 6th.  Only have 4 hits vs a SP who came in with an ERA over 6.00.  Realmuto is 0-3 and has left 5 base runners stranded.  Harper has reached base 2 of 3 times with a single and BB.

Wentz helped win you a SB. Well worth the resources given

Foles, Jeffery, Corey Clements, Ertz, Graham, Barnett. Darby, Vatai, Robinson, Smith, Johnson, Long etc. all helped win the Super Bowl and actually played in it.  One could say Douglas, Vatai and Celek were as integral in getting there as Wentz was. It is a team game. I have strong belief that the underdog leadership of the likes of Long and Lane got them over the hump. No guarantee the Eagles win that Super Bowl if Wentz didn’t get injured, is there?

Parrot Head was pretty spot on about what he saw as Wentz’s limitations.   I would say for the resources given to obtain Wentz and extend him, that he underdelivered.

We need to see a big game from Smith.  He was open last week but Hurts didn't get him the ball.  Chase is a stud though.

It's hard for young QBs in the NFL with limited starts.

Josh Allen shredding the Wanker Football Team's D with 4 TDs and over 300 yards so far.  Would like to see his passing chart to show where he attacked them and if that strategy is something the Eagles can apply or not.  If it's not a lot of throws towards the right sideline then we might have a tougher time.
