In the end, Archie Manning was right. Had Eli started his career with that Mickey Mouse SD franchise he might have struggled early and became a career backup. I don’t think we quite understand the importance of being in the right environment/system.

The chargers were loaded when Eli was drafted. Philip Rivers thrived in it for 15 years.

He's only played 10 games in his career. He hasn't been great but way to premature to pull the plug on last years #9 overall pick, especially at a position that doesn't always make an immediate impact.

Jacksonville doing Jacksonville things...

Yup. Mailata and Brooks injured. Lane not 100% and has been beat. At least Kelce and LG have been consistent

Seumalo doesn't get enough credit.  I don't know that Lane is ever going to be 100% but I don't think he's played poorly.  I hope Dickerson is able to play well.  This game should be a good start for him.  I would really like to see Dillard do well. I mean if he comes in and looks competent then that's a big improvement.

Carolina, which was supposedly in on veteran QBs, has no 2nd, 3rd, 4th rounders in 2022. They and Miami were our biggest competitors for Rodgers/Watson. With Carolina/Denver winning, we should be in great shape to be aggressive this off-season regardless of Hurts.

It’s game day!  Let’s go Eagles!! :Eagle_smiley:

Have the Jaguars lost their minds?

We might be able to trade for Trevor Lawrence in a couple years of the Jags don’t permanently damage him.  Maybe that’s what you wait for.

Arnold has a nothing contract.   $920K for this year, and they can dump him with no cost next year.   Or keep him around for peanuts compared to Ertz who wants a new deal and lots of money.

And, I could be wrong, but the Jags seem to be in tank mode again.

Arnold couldn’t have mattered that much in terms of value. I’m not even thinking about Ertz. It’s more our 3 being far more valuable than Carolina’s, at least as a projection.

Baffling trade for Jacksonville.

Denver beat the giants, jags and jets. I’m pretty sure if they could get rodgers and have him instead of bridgewater theyd do it. They aren’t winning a SB with bridgewater at QB. They’ve just been fortunate to play 3 teams who likely are picking top 5 in the draft to start the year.

I agree, but every Broncos win pushes down the value of their picks.

Gotcha.   But, I think Jacksonville is basically run by a buffoon, who hired a buffoon.  They might be the worst run franchise in the NFL, and that's saying something when you see the likes of Houston and Detroit.

He was damaged the minute they hired Urban Meyer to be his coach.

Their schedule is much harder the next four weeks. Play Baltimore, at Pittsburgh, vs. Vegas and at Cleveland. the last 7 games of the year are vs. chargers, at KC, vs lions, vs cincy, at Vegas, at chargers and vs. KC. I kind of see them finishing at 9-8 or 8-9. Frankly i don’t think the eagles are going to be in on rodgers mainly cause i don’t think rodgers wants to be here and all rumors have said he wanted to be on the west coast

That would imply that they had one to begin with.

Shahid Khan appears to have no clue about football, but wants to be a part of the NFL boys' club.  And then he hires people, who are snake oil salesmen to run things for him.   Just a horrific organization.

Or Wilson, after the Jets mess him up!

Pittsburgh blows raiders are ok and browns depends on which team show up. Broncos can win anyone of those games

Don't forget Jeudy is coming back at some point too.

Suddenly looking at the Eagles schedule the Broncos, Chargers, and Panthers aren't as winnable as I thought at the start of the season. Never though they would be easy, but I thought they could pull them out. Look tough now.

why not both?!

Bound to happen. On the flip side I think Giants, Washington and Jets are far easier now.

Yes, teams evolve through out the season. Some tougher looking games might be easy by the end of the season. Thats why I don't know.why people lose their minds every year when the schedule comes out. Nothing is set in stone

Well for some reason the 50 years of losing people still thought the Jets might be good this year with a rookie QB.... They have been so great at developing those over the years I don't know why I didn't think the Jets game was going to be a tough one 🙄

Really surprised as I'm sure a lot of people are at that WFT defense.

Jeudy is out 6-8 weeks. And i like jeudy but he’s not saving that team from the chargers or chiefs (when they right that ship). Pittsburgh blows but they have to travel cross country for an early game.

How are he raiders just ok? They are 3-0 and I’d argue better wins then the jets, giants and jags the Broncos have beaten. The Broncos might have gotten the easiest schedule to start the year. Legitimately all those teams might be picking in the top 3 at the end of the season.

they can win those games the odds are they likely go 1-3 more than 4-0 or 3-1 imo.

Never thought the Jets would be a tough one, but that was the only game Eagles were favored in during the pre-season and only by 1 point. As of now Eagles should be able to smash that line.

I was expecting them to be a top defense. I'm glad they disappointed me
