It could be peters is just greedy and wants to earn as much as he can before no one will pay him for it anymore and making the transition to coaching is likely much less unless he becomes a HC or big time assistant. 

I'm going to go the other way... if I was once one of the greats of the game, and I can no longer perform at even a BAD level (Peters is just at an embarrassing point now), I am going to walk away with my head held high.   Rightly or wrongly, my pride is worth more than those couple million dollars, if I've earned what he has over his career.   Now, maybe he wasn't smart with his money, which changes things.  But, there's no reason to take the physical beating and the embarrassment of being so bad, if you are a HoF caliber player who has made millions.   Time to actually rest on those laurels.

The roster at 52 isn't important for the gameday activations.  They can only dress 46, no matter who they are.

And it could be close. McLeod and Mailata are already out. You have 2 questionable guys, so if they miss that's your 4 inactives right there. Now your dressing Minshew for no real reason.

You view it that way.  However i don’t think peters shares that same view. Maybe he does have financial problems  but I tend to think Jason peters just wants to keep getting paid for as long as he can and make as much money as he can before he can’t get another contract.

Yup it’s why i found it humorous everyone in the media wanted to just anoint him the starter and that he was going to be great from day one. It’s why i actually like what the niners are doing with lance. The only one imo who was ready to play right away was Mac jones and Lawrence. But Lawrence got stuck in hell known as the jags and urban Meyer

Yes, that's what I said.  It is embarrassing.  He should have some pride.  But, the Bears shouldn't leave it up to him.  There is no one that they could throw out there and be worse.

That's the new CBA rule that started last year. If 8 are OL you can dress 48, otherwise its 47. I can't see a team ever going less than 8 active linemen.

I’m actually surprised he got another contract from someone. I thought for sure he was going to be forced into retirement. Bears were kind of put Themselves into this position when they drafted tevin jenkins knowing he had health issues and just releasing Leno like those health issue would not be an issue.

He could. Needs to build up their defense and find some more consistent weapons outside of kelce and hill. 

if Herbert keeps progressing and getting better the Chargers could pass them. They have a better defense. They might not have kelce and hill but allen, williams, ekeler and even Jared cook are some good weapons. The problem the chargers tended to have the past couple years is Poor coaching and like the eagles some big injuries.
