Yup.

Gordon is a sad case, dude has all the talent in the world but he's got some demons that have followed him since he was a kid and probably always will.

Good luck to him on his journey going forward.

Watch Dilliard have a good game.

Well they’re playing a MLB at D-end so if Dillard has a bad game we know there’s little shot of a future here.

If Mailata misses 6 weeks and has even a little bit of struggles upon his return, they officially saved no money with that early extension…just saying.

I can’t believe you waited this long to post that. (And it might not even be true)

Not surprising that teams would be testing him with press coverage.   He's not big.

How so?

More often than not, players will either disappoint or get hurt and get cheaper rather than get more expensive.  There is a reason agents always advise them to hold out in the last year of contracts.

I like Mailata as much as anyone on the boards.  I like Sweat a ton too.  Loved both picks, love both in our starting lineup.  But Sweat has 0 sacks and Mailata is already in a multi-week injury.  Let them play it out.

You keep saying this, but where are you getting this? Anecdotally?

I don’t care how realistic you are as a fan. If you pick the Cowboys to win in a prediction on the Eagles message board I just don’t understand you as a fan and never will.

Well, when you predict something, the idea is to predict what will actually happen.  I picked the Eagles to win in my weekly office pick em.  I need them to win and the combined score to be 55+ points.  I would love it to happen, but I predict it is not going to.

If their is money on the line, I fully understand. We should all be strongly hating on the Cowboys if there isn’t though.

I hated the hell out of the Cowboys week 16 last year, didn't seem to change the outcome of the game.

How many chances does a mfer like that need to get?  You or I.  We’d be in jail or homeless by now.  Just because he’s an amazing athlete, he keeps getting all of these chances.  Only someone who is faced with the prospect of rock bottom will realize what he needs to do to fix his problems.  But he doesn’t get close enough to rock bottom because the NFL doesn’t care.  Maybe the teams and the NFL that keep giving him the money are the real pieces of ish.

The NFL enables him by keep.giving him chances. They need to tell him he is done in the NFL for good or he will just keep coming back to.get money to buy drugs until he ends up dead. NFL doesn't care about him as a person at all.

From being an Eagles fan.  And from the next sentence if you read on.

The data on what a player would have cost with one year left versus what they actually cost as a FA….or what they actually cost with one year left versus what they would have cost if they hit FA…it’s all unknowable because the other scenario never happened.  Value deteriorates rapidly in this league.  I would choose to avoid long term contracts until the last possible minute.

Obviously I doubt we’ll end up with two picks in the top 6, and 3 in the top 20. But man is it nice to dream

I’ll trust Banner over you on this.

Well, it is knowable, when a similar player gets a ton more money after the season than a guy who signed a deal mid season.

Go ahead and add up all Eagles extensions prior to the end of the contract year over the last decade and let me know the percent we regretted.

@LeanMeanGM Eagles- 38 Cowboys- 27

DeVonta Smith gets 200+ yards and 2TDs

If the Eagles roll over every dollar from this year ( which ain't gonna happen ) they will have 23.6 million in cap room with 39 players under contract.

Based on last years numbers, it would be a cap hit of 9.57 million for those players.  Leaving 14 million to fill out the rest of the roster.

I’ll let you show your own work on this.

If we get those picks, I truly won’t care about spending money in FA.

That would be a dream scenario.  But a Colts pick that high is not sustainable.  Anything headed towards top 10 will lead to them cutting bait on Wentz and the pick defaulting into round 2.

Eagles will have 48 players under contract if the entire draft class makes the roster, with about 6-7 million in cap room to fill out the roster.

Assuming the Colts pick is indeed a first I think it’s a lock for 3 in the top 20
