Wentz was the worst QB in the league last year and he’s not too far off this year.

This is BS. I predicted pain for the eagles. And i predicted they show Jerry jones more than lazy eye McCarthy. Lol

McCarthy did his best to allow the Eagles back into this game. Their decision to not call a timeout with over a minute left in the 1st half when Eagles had to punt will go unnoticed, but it was one of the dumbest decisions I’ve ever seen.  He is an idiot.  Unfortunately he’s loaded with talent, and they have the unique ability to actually develop their players.

I can name multiple games last season where Doug Pederson called a worse game than tonight.   Every decision he made last year was to the detriment of his players.  From personnel decisions, sticking with older guys, 7 step drops without rolling the QB out while you’re on your 14th offensive line formation, having Greg Ward as a primary target, etc etc. I could just keep going.

I don’t think Sirianni is the answer by the way but it’s too early to write him off. It’s obvious that he’s handicapped by his QB. When he throws a horrible pick in their 1st possession and their 2nd possession is on the 1 inch line for a combined total of 3 minutes of TOP, it’s no wonder they couldn’t run the ball.

👍 I'll give Hurts a few more games.  But if we get the same inconsistent QB play passing the ball then I want to see Minshew.

We need to evaluate Sirianni too.  Hard to do with a limited QB.

Hurts isn't any better though. We are going to have to draft one. AGAIN.

Hurts is cheaper than Wentz, not much better or much worse, just different.

The search for our franchise QB continues.

Couple of things...

-I hate the way Gannon uses his personnel. It's like he doesn't utilize them to their strengths or try to protect their weaknesses. He just treats them like nameless, attribute-less pieces. Kerrigan as a 3-4 DE? Avery and Patrick Johnson getting so many snaps? Tarron and Marlon too. He's trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. It's even more asinine considering he refused to play anything other than 2 high for the majority of the game, putting all the pressure on the front to handle the running game.

-The offense sucks for a lot of reasons. It's hard to know for sure what kind of gameplan Sirianni has put together with such bad play at QB and the OL. Running the ball 3 times is crazy though. But our pieces on offense don't really come together well. We're collecting a bunch of (not very good) players, not building a team. Hurts can't drop back and pass, the WRs are very unpolished. I'm not sure what gameplan will work for this offense. Hurts obviously isn't it.

Those are not Gannon's players those guys are from the sheet Schwartz wanted.

He's a first time coordinator, for what he is asking his defense to do in those crap situations he isn't the worst . He isn't a seasoned coordinator that knows how.to come up with different schemes week to week.

Anyone else notice our D begins and ends with one guy?

Hurts...

"Play calling wasn't the issue in this game.  I was the problem."

There's no fun in that approach.

Where is the cynicism, insults, criticism, and acrimony?

Sometimes I think Philly fans like the turmoil. Ben Simmons, Eagles meltdown, whatever.

A lot of them like it deep down in their collective Id.

91% to 9% designed runs called.  4th worst ratio over the past 15 years of any NFL team. 15 years.  Let that sink in.

Like we really expected the Eagles to win many this year?  Get the young players reps and see if they rise or fall. Right now, Eagles looking like a team with possibly three top ten picks.

No doubt that was an awful showing all around, but let’s keep some perspective...

We have a new coaching staff. There are going to be growing pains. We have a QB we all knew was not a polished passer. There will be growing pains.

Most of all, we knew this was a rebuilding year. The plan stays the same: keep playing Hurts to see if he develops. If he doesn’t we’ll have a top pick plus a slew of extra picks.

This was never going to be a playoff team: we knew this. We lack too end talent.

New coaching staff or not, there’s no excuse to have that game plan tonight. None. That’s not growing pains, it’s sheer stupidity.

The illegal men downfield penalties are on Sirianni as much as Hurts.  He needs to plan for Hurts to hold onto the ball too long.

Disagree. They are all on RPO’s. It falls on the QB to get the ball out. If we are to blame Sirianni for calling RPO’s I don’t know what there is to even expect from the guy.

No one is asking him to play 3-4. It's his job to make the personnel work better, not force the players to play the way you want them to.

There's comfort in familiarity, and this is familiar.

As an out of town fan, Philadelphia fans are the absolute worst.

That’s nice of him to say.

The issues go beyond the QB.  QB change might make this season incrementally more enjoyable but the longstanding issues with this organization remain and it permeates throughout the roster.

Again he is in his 30's first time.coordinator. the defense made some good plays it got away from him he is hardly to blame for the last 2 weeks . He has to use whatever junk Howie gave him.

They obviously want a pass-first team, but I refuse to believe they would have pushed for this BS game plan.
