That’s a bit naive understanding of Scott’s role. Under the Indian Removal Act, the United States made a treaty with the Cherokee resulting in a sale of their land in return for moving them and supplying new land in Indian Territory. Scott’s troops did round up the Cherokee into detention centers at forts around the South. The overland trek was actually organized by John Ross, the Cherokee main chief. The trek killed thousands. Guess you never played Oregon Trail as a kid. Overland migration was deadly for all sorts of people. But to lay all of that at Scott’s feet is inaccurate. Genocide suggests deliberate killing as if Scott had his troops put people directly to death. That is not the case. BTW, John Ross also signed the treaty that aligned the Cherokee with the Confederacy, a treaty he tried to break. I don’t want to sound like I am endorsing the actions of the country or of the times. I also don’t want to downplay the impact of the hostilities on both sides of the conflicts. So the only approach is to never name anything after anybody. Or we can take the time to learn history, not in some OpEd but in reading journals, documents, letters, oral history, archeological information etc. We can perhaps learn from Arnold’s boot (you will be happy to know his name is nowhere to be found on it.)

When you look at the lack of talent on the Eagles, look no further than this. Iowa is a little surprising. Guessing it's mostly offensive lineman and a few TEs.

Not ideal... ideal would be Driscoll at RT, but that's not possible while he's on IR. Driscoll being injured is what prompted my question in the first place. The truth is, I'm just not comfortable with the backup right tackle position with Driscoll not being available. Also, if he were healthy, I suspect he'd be the first backup at right guard too. I also wonder if Le'Raven Clark might be activated this week to be the backup. It's possible though not necessarily likely. I'd also give some consideration into moving Seumalo to right tackle for the duration of the game and putting Herbig in at left guard. Though come to think of it, if you're going to switch two players you might as well do the Mailata/Dillard dance.

On temporary IR are Jack Driscoll - OL9, Tyree Jackson - TE3, and Josiah Scott - CB5. Driscoll and Scott look more like week-to-week. (EDIT, yes they need to miss at least three weeks.) Jackson may be ready sometime in October. McLeod and Dickerson are imminent and haven't shown any setbacks of note. Not sure what to make of Brooks. The fact that he is only Limited is a good sign.
