I think they seeing if they catch lightening in a bottle.  But he was not their goal to be QB.  If the Watson situation was cleared up, I'd be he would be here by now.

I don’t think he wants to be in Philly and don’t think it’ll happen.

I’d guess Russell Wilson has a better shot at being in Philly.

No. I think they should ride it out with Hurts and totally evaluate him. I mean it was technically only his 7th start. Then at the end of the season Howie gets canned and a new GM drafts a franchise qb....... one can dream.

yup,...................................................

you are totally dreaming.

On the bright side, Hurts was emphatically bad last night. If he keeps playing like that, the decision is pretty easy in 2022.

Sadly, if Sirianni and Gannon keep coaching like that, we're screwed for years.

As much as I have no interest in watching another game with Hurts at the helm you have to let this ride out for another little while, right?

Yes...  unfortunately...

Wtf happened to the defense? I really disliked the scheme of the defense under Schwartz but man there was no adjustments in this game

It's like the entire defense fell apart after BG got injured

Lol. That’s one way to spin what I said…

Did you not say no need to run his offense in preseason ? And I said there is nothing he can throw at other teams that they haven’t seen before .

I can go back and find the comments , I would rather not have to

I'm not as down on Sirianni as are most. I am willing to give him some time.

For the first time in years, I saw wide receivers running free in the secondary.  I think the passing scheme could work - there is, however, a second part to successful execution.

You do, but how far do you go after the wheels fall off?

Side note, the first part of Kelce's interview you'd think Isaac died lol.

Other side note, where did the extra 200 yards of passing from Hurts come from that I missed?

Not sure honestly

Very few of Howie's Draft picks actually amount to something. He got lucky in 2018 that his moves worked FOR ONE YEAR, and then imploded.

Howie is pure trash when it comes to drafting.  I've been saying it for years and I get ripped on for saying the Cowboys are a far superior team when it comes to drafting talent.  It was on full display last night.  Howie's draft picks faltered, Jerry's draft picks flourished.  Even the Cowboys FA signings are better than the Eagles.

Who would you rather have?

All drafted in the last 4 years

Offense

CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Cedrick Wilson, Dalton Schultz, Tony Pollard

-OR-

DeVonta Smith, Jalen Reagor, Quez Watkins, Dallas Goedert, Kenny Gainwell, Miles Sanders

LB

Jaylon Smith, LVE, Micah Parsons, Jabril Cox

-OR-

Shaun Bradley, Davion Taylor, Patrick Johnson, TJ Edwards (UDFA)

Free agent safeties

Jayron Kearse, Malik Hooker, Keanu Neal

-OR-

Anthony Harris, Anthony Adams (he was FA signing)

Of all the negative last night.....by far my favorite play was when Hargrave just pushed their centre over when he was trapped in their huddle. I was laughing my ass off.

I thought there was a penalty for impeding a player try to get onside?

Well lets start with the Bolded. I never thought he could be a Franchise QB, and his play to date is exactly what I thought it would be.  So YES I have given up on him being a franchise QB. ANd I think if NS keep playing him he will lose the lockeroom. And we could be looking for another HC next year if that happens.  (And if that happens we are literally the new Browns of the NFL, always in search of a HC and QB)

You have to keep playing him...  but, at least help him the eff out with your play-calling...  Sirianni needs to read up on play-action...  which, of course, requires that you establish a ground game first...

I blame Sirianni for that game last night...  Hurts just got caught in the middle of his ineptitude to figure out what he wants his offense to be, and how to help his QB...

Look you can **** about Howie but the reality is that he recognizes the importance of the QB position.  They certainly will move on from Hurts without a second thought.

Why would Wilson want to be in Philly and Watson wouldn't?  Better yet, why would any top flight QB want to come here while the team is lead by Lowie?

There’s been several reports saying Watson doesn’t want to be in Philly. Miami seems like the likely destination.

The Wilson thing is pure speculation. He made it clear he wasn’t thrilled with Seattle this past offseason. It’s pretty clear Howie wanted Wilson in 2012. Rumors are Wilson wants to be on the east coast because of whichever singer chick he’s married to. The Eagles would still be a better option than the Giants.

I don’t think either happens.

Coaching happened. BG is the heart and soul of the defense, I get it, but Gannon was flat-out terrible last night. Rookie DC, I get that too, but he's gotta get his crap together. This can't keep happening.

I said he ran a vanilla scheme because he didn’t want to show anything — such as staple third-down plays. Sirianni said it himself. You’re trying to turn that conversation into something it wasn’t.

No idea, they called it on Hargrave for unsportsmanlike, but man oh man was I laughing when he just shoved that dude over. Hargrave is the one bright light on the entire team so far.

I'll repeat this endlessly...  before you can FULLY evaluate the QB (and I grant the he hasn't engendered faith & trust), the head coach needs to do a much, much better job of helping him out...

True.  He does hold onto his own draft picks a little too long.  But we know they wanted Watson and or Zach Wilson.  So maybe they go all in for someone in the off-season.  I just would rather it not be a aged veteran future hall of famer.

See, I just made you into a Howie fan.  My job here is done.  My guess is we get Kirk Cousins.

At what point though do they look and say OK, Hurts play is really having an impact on the development of the WR/RB/TE and we need someone in here to get the ball to our other investments?

They have 2 1st round picks (Smith/Reagor), 2 2nd round picks (Sanders/Goedert) and 5th/6th (Gainwell/Watkins) invested in the offense.  None of them are going to reach their potential if the QB can't get them the ball.

It's Sirianni that's having the impact...  on the entire offense...

Not so fast my friend.  Lowie is going to ride with him for a while, because they drafted him.  Unless he gets hurt.

We have to hope that he doesn't. Whether he's good enough or not (I'm leaning on not at the moment) we need to know without a doubt this year

If the HC has to do a much, much better job of helping the QB, then that is an evaluation of the QB in itself.

Guy I watched the game with, basically said, "I'd like to see nick's offense with Wentz's arm strength"

I found myself comparing Dak's throws to those of Hurts for similar routes. Hurts was late and relatively weak on his throws.

I don't agree...  EVERY head coach who has a young, developing QB has to help that young QB...

It doesn't APPEAR, after seven games that Hurts has a very high ceiling, but this is where we are...  we have no viable alternatives...  so, everyone might as well get used to the fact that Hurst is the guy, and your damn head coach needs to do a far better job...

Positives: Jayron Hargraves

Seth Joyner on Hurts... which is exactly what I have been saying since Game 1 of the season.
