I think he’s been pretty good this year. He got stuck in a bad spot on the Wilson TD.

Was there ever a beginning here?

Hurts' stats look ok if you just look at the box score.

Watching him actually play....how can anybody come away thinking he has a future in the league? He's got a noodle arm, can't process fast enough, and isn't accurate enough. He's a decent runner, but even then lacks the top end speed that somebody like Lamar has. Hurts has back-up QB written all over him.

I think Hurts is the physical equivalent of Dak.  He's not able to process like Dak and make quick decisions.  We focus too much on his running ability. You're right he's not a Lamar Jackson or Vick.  He's not them in large part because he's limited throwing on the move.  He has to set his feet to throw with any kind of velocity. Unlike a Vick, Lamar or Mcnabb, he can't rely on just arm strength. He also can only throw to the right on the move.  He is a QB that can run at times to move the ball.  He's a QB that can escape or roll out to the right to make a throw.  He has to grow exponentially in terms of execution to be a competent starter.  I don't think it's outside the realm of possibilities that he gets there but it seems unlikely.  It is especially unlikely if Sirianni and the scheme do not improve.

That's sad.  He has looked very good.

No he’s been much better this year compared to last season

It concerns me that nick didnt realize how few runnning plays he had called. Even teams playing from behind run the ball occasionally to keep balance/get easy yards.

Yup, and not even just Nick.  Coaches abandon the balanced offense way too quickly; the Eagles should have taken advantage of the gift Fletcher Cox TD.  Even after DAL scored on their next possession the game was still only 14-7.  The Eagles didn't even try a running play until the second quarter.

They need to be a run-oriented offense that mixes the pass in and takes a few shots.  They wanted to play a track meet last night and played right into DAL's hands.

I think he was covering his zone and a safety or LB abandoned their zone.  The PI call against him was complete nonsense.

Remember when people thought we realistically had a shot at winning the division and 10+ games?

Funny times.

Wentz flashed his rookie season. Hurts hasnt flashed with anything other than running.

Im ready to move on at this point.  We kicked the tires and have our answer IMO.

Darius Slay has been very good this year. Absolutely playing like a #1 CB.

Steven Nelson has been good too. Teams will try to trade for him at the deadline.

Cox $2.3M saving

Slay $6.3M saving

Brooks $3.7M saving

Cox is only 2.3 in savings as a post June 1 cut, and that leaves 12.8 dead in 2022 and 12.8 dead in 2023.

Slay is only 4.3 in savings and 17.6 dead.

Brooks leaves 15.7 dead.

With the already 14.7 dead on the books next year, we would then have 60.8 million in dead cap.  110.6 million in combined dead cap 2021-2022.

Absolutely horrible cap management.  Howie does zero, nada, nothing, zilch well.  Worst GM in the NFL.

Did Watson land yet?

I agree, this is the most comfortable with out corners I have felt in YEARS. Sure Slay is older now and a high cap hit, but we are solid for the first time in a long time.

And both will be gone next year.

Speaking of Slay, him and Nelson have probably been the best CB duo we’ve had in a really long time. It’ll be interesting to follow them over course of the year, but it hasn’t been talked about much how they’ve consistently done a good job against WR. Cooper and Lamb had some decent plays but weren’t putting on a show like they’re capable of doing. Our LB and S have been getting exposed bad though, can’t wait for Rodney to be back in the lineup, I think he’ll help Mask some of the issues

except kicking cans, he is damn good at that. That and being an annoying little weasel who always pops up whenever we are rolling and times are good.

Yeah you are right on that

It's almost like Schwartz's defense was hard on DBs.

Epps didn't look terrible.  He had a nice break up of a pass.  The LBs have been trash.  Singleton is just overmatched physically.  He's a fill in back up at best.  Wilson has been pretty meh.  They both were slow to react and were fooled on screen passes.  The defense really missed Graham last night.

Yup let's see Minshew, need to know if Siri is the problem

This entire thing is a dysfunctional mess. The coach, the QB, the cap situation, the FA's, the extensions.  And it is all led by the clown Howie Roseman, worst GM in the NFL.

Duh, but he should have been active, and should have played the second half.

If Flacco fakes an injury they can activate the emergency QB I thought?  That's why you'll never see 3 active on game day?

DE is a weak spot.  Should have been a focus the past few drafts.  But we drafted 5 wide receivers, and we think two can play.

I think Sweat is a good player.  Barnett is somewhat talented but is a F up in terms of penalties.

If Dak has a season ending injury again, I think the team is better than the WFT and Giants.

I think once Minshew is elevated to the #2 spot and dresses on game days the clock starts ticking on Hurts.  There isn't much point giving Flacco meaningful snaps, but Minshew being in uniform would be an indication Hurts' leash might be getting shorter.

To be clear, I'm not high on Minshew either -- never have been.

This is worrisome to me.  Seumalo doesn't come off as the kind of guy who is going to attack his rehab and recover quickly.  He'll be going on 29 next October, the last year on his contract.  This is his biggest challenge yet.

I'm usually out and left field on my opinions but is anyone sick of Fletcher Cox?

If I'm not mistaking he's around a top 5 highest paid DT in the game(defiantly top 10) He made 1 play last night that quite literally fell in his lap but after that the only time you hear about him is when he's hurt and rolling around on the field.

With this season being a loss, next year probably being a "growing year" I say you try to unload him for anything if they take all of his contract

Fletch is an average DT, he draws double teams and when he has a single block all he does is stand straight up and bull rush his guy, he has zero get off zero explosion zero pass rush moves, his TD last night was johnny on the spot , majority of the game he was invisible, one would expect more out of the teams highest paid player.

I really miss BG, big loss.
