How many of those completed passes were in garbage time against soft coverage?

@Veejer he completed 78% of his passes on the last 3 drives with the game decided.

I think it's better to say that there was little to no encouraging aspects of his play last night that pointed towards future success.

I think that's also fair analysis.  His limitations didn't help him, and led to a dreadful performance.   And we get to see how he and the HC adapt moving forward.

I'm not so sure this is a number we can objectively look at till we see that pass distribution chart.  Most of his completions were screens, swings and lil flips to the TE on the run from what I remember.

I point to it only insofar as it might alleviate a desire to call him "dysfunctional"...  not to absolve him from ineffectiveness...

Looking ahead to KC, their defense has been pretty bad this year. It would be very nice if Hurts/Sirianni could bounce back against them. Now, we may give up 40 points on defense, but, baby steps....

KC is 32nd in yards per play (7.0)

31st in rush yards allowed

31st in rush yards/attempt

24th in pass yards allowed

30th in net yards allowed per pass attempt

We need a good offensive showing this week, and we damn well better run the ball

We’re both talking about Carson Wentz and Donovan McNabb, right?

I am, you are talking about a couple of people from your dreams

Better than giving up after 2 games.

In all seriousness I've been racking my brain to think of a more poorly coached Eagles game than last night's debacle. I'm including Kotite with the wet chart and Chip Kelly only calling 5 different plays in his last 8 games or so.

I'm not saying Siri is the answer. I'm saying Pederson wasn't

Lisfranc, ugh

Wallace is also being put on IR. 3 open roster spots.

We haven’t spent enough time talking about the penalties. They’ve killed more drives than poor execution and poor play design.

I seriously think he cant see over the line at this point

Dysfunctional...not operating normally or properly.

So you think Hurts was operating properly?  That's no straw man.  If you have a problem with dysfunctional, then you think he was playing properly.  Yet I took it down a couple notches.  So apparently he was even better than that.

Oh for Christ's sake...  you absolutely know that was not what you intended to convey...  please...  and you forgot the qualifier "so"... "so" dysfunctional...  "so" far from normal or proper...  you're too easy a target; once again I'll abstain...

We have "hot garbage' up for a vote...  how about that instead...

Our offense will fix that for them

Without All-22 we can't say this...if we take the announcers words for it there was open people all game.

Why is it that we seem to be getting just gashed in the first half of games on the ground, but in the 2nd halves we seem to tighten it up? Against Atlanta we got a lead so I can understand that, but against both SF and Dallas we seemed to adjust well to the running attacks. What's going on in the first haves tho?

15 of his 26 completions within 5 yards of the LOS.

So...  have we arrived at the point where we're calling Jalen Hurts "so dysfunctional"?

I mean, I'm as concerned about him as most everyone else, but aren't we reaching the point of hyperbole when we say he's "so dysfunctional"...

Just for those with some sense of logic and reason left, might I suggest substituting "struggling" or "pressing" or any of a few lesser terms than "dysfunctional" for a guy who actually completed 64% of his passes?

I mean, c'mon....

I guess no talent bum is out then?

You can sit here all day and describe him with as many words as you want.  He is not a starting NFL caliber QB.  If I have to analyze it for you, get a larger tv.

So, "He is not a starting NFL caliber QB" = "dysfunctional" in your world...  does that go for "hot garbage", also?... got it, for future reference...  so, I need no further analysis from you, thanks...  and, my TV is fine... thanks for asking...

In the first half we’re playing 2 deep safeties to defend the pass. That requires LBs to make plays. Ours can’t.

In the second half, past 2 games we’ve been behind and the other offenses stopped passing, so we brought in the safety to stop the run.

Disagree on the bolded. There was 1 offensive penalty the first half. 2nd half Ertz had a false start but the drive resulted in a TD. There were two illegal men down field penalties which falls on Hurts and is poor execution. 2 other holding penalties were declined, and there were two more accepted. The rest was all on D.

So, you are saying he improved in the second half.

0 scoring drives in the first half.  2 scoring drives in the 2nd half.

Penalties are poor execution.

The fact that he apparently didn't see that Smith had fallen would lend some credibility to that.

On a positive note, at least Brandon Brooks injury isn't season ending.  We can only hope Herbig and Dickerson hold down the fort until he's "healthy" and whoever of those two is playing better you plug in at LG.
