The defense deserves some blame, it's easy to forget Hurts had a drive that got them to 27-14 with lots of time left, even after the pick 6, that's when your defense has to step up. Oh well.

There was a real opportunity for the Eagles to get right back in the game at that point.   The defense forced a 3 and out and the Eagles got in on their 11

Then Hurts held onto the ball on an RPO and got Dillard flagged for ineligible downfield, then threw a pass that was tipped and not caught, then threw a prayer/hospital ball to Smith.

It was bad.  He came up way short.  He was rattled to start the game, then had a meltdown, then came back after the game was long-gone.

Him shrinking in that moment--when hes supposed to be this big game guy from Alabama/Oklahoma, and then trying to blame Smith for his bad pass.....thats where I get off the bus.

Im on the Minshew bus now.  Ive seen all I need to see from Hurts, and I have a feeling we're going to see it again

Don’t include the impressive 3 play -1 yard drive after they forced that Dallas punt that took all of 1:24 off the clock

@austinfan is a clown.  Posts like he is the be all and end all of knowledge, and will not respond to anyone who challenges him with facts that disagree with his narrative.  Biggest blow hard in the blog.

Does anyone doubt our pick will be top 5?

Me. There's a lot of dreck at the bottom.

Yes I doubt... NY, Jacksonville, Atlanta and the Giants are in the NFL. Not to mention the Texans and our former QB is leading another team.

Out of interest... how did Dillard get on yesterday?

Uhh, are we forgetting that half of those 14 pts were scored by the same defense you're tossing under the bus to shield Hurts from criticism?

I do.

We may be merely bad.  But there are enough other teams that are dumpster fires in waiting.

Wasn't noticed much, which means he did fine.

It's the offenses fault that the defense was on the field for so long in the first half.

It's the defenses fault that the offense rarely had the ball in the first half.

It's a shamockery.

Further, we can run off five wins in a row against @NYG, @NYJ, WFT, NYG, @WFT.

Idk there’s still the giants, jags, Falcons, lions and Jets who all likely are worse than us. If we lose the lions and Jets games it definitely will be.

I found myself comparing Dak's throws to those of Hurts for similar routes. Hurts was late and relatively weak on his throws.

If Dak was our QB last night, I think Goedert would have had over 200 receiving yards and multiple TDs.  Good thing he was targeted 3 times the entire game!

I don't know... with the OL injuries piling up it's hard to see this team being considerably better than anyone right now.

I watched the Jets on Sunday cause i had Broncos defense for fantasy. That team healthy might be the worst team in the league.

Other teams suffer injuries as well.

After Tampa, the texture of the schedule changes.  Mailata should be back by then and the HC/QB will have had a few more games to figure things out.

Not saying the bottom falling out is impossible, but not as likely as last night would suggest.

I had little faith in NS.  I have and had little faith in Hurts.  But I suspected that the best way to win with this offense was to move players all over the field.  Put the WR and backs in motion.  Boot Hurts out and build off of that kind of offense.  I am more than disappointed that NS and the coaches haven't adopted that strategy.  Like we showed 0 motion yesterday.  Not once.  Basic Football 101, I mean Ace Nova level, is put a WR in motion to see if the defense is in zone or man.  You can run behind it, or handoff to the motion man.  We didn't do that once.  Is the offense dumbed down so much for Hurts because he can't read a defense that they took that element out?

That's alarming.

Are you sure Hurts can handle the motion mentally?   One of the first things a team does to simplify is get rid of the motion (despite what it does).

EDIT: I apologize to the OP for not reading the whole thing there.  My bad.   The answer is YES, they have simplified it that far to protect him.

Seems like, aside from the one penalty, he held his own.

That's alarming.

You don't need to run motion at the snap to determine coverage.

Teams now just line up a RB wide out of the huddle, then shift him into the backfield.  It's a pretty decent diagnostic.

Me too. The Broncos D is the reason I'm 3-0 in FF. I will now have to follow the Jets opponents D all season 🙂

There isn't a single game left that we can say "That's a W" on right now.  I think we win 4, but being 1 - 16 is not out of the realm of possibility.

OK, smartass.  I missed that part in the mass of verbiage there.  Sorry.

You will not get a response from @austinfan, he does not like facts that disprove the narrative he has created.
