This season isn't anything people shouldn't have expected.  Everyone knew Hurts had the starting QB job by default, not merit or competition.  Everyone should have known a young, inexperienced coaching staff all under 40 will have a learning curve.  If the Eagles are better than 2-7 after the first 9 games they'll have surpassed my predictions.

I didn't expect much, but Hurts looks as bad as his loudest offseason critics said he was. Maybe i've been spoiled by some strong armed Eagles QBs, but  i can't stomach these underthrown deep balls anymore.

Siriani has also completely lost me with his playcalling. First at the goal line last week, and then that abomination on Monday night has me wondering if he has any idea what he is doing.

Right! He's not on the trading block because he like butt stuff. He's on the block because he thinks he should be in charge of the whole franchise.

can you believe what he spews , says he can't go play with a team with no shot at a bowl after playing with brady and patrick and reid and arians with 2 super bowl teams. he didn't even dress for those 2 superbowls and was a non factor for both teams. but he did play great here

What's the point if they don't use him?

The next coach won't use him either? We must be cursed. Cursed, I tell you!

I said it consistently when Doug was the HC; the OC should be calling plays on game days to allow the head coach to keep his head in the flow of the game, make decisions in the moment, etc.  I've never been a fan of the HC being the play-caller on offense or defense.

Sure you can, you keep reading my posts, don't you?  😁

I don't think Cousins is as good as Watson, but referring to Watson's raw stats, well, Cousins' are just as good. Which is why I don't take raw passing stats that seriously.

Detroit has been a dumpster fire since Caldwell left, but Stafford has always been a gunslinger, I'm not sure he's much better than Goff, but he's in a much better situation.

Put Watson on LA or SF he'd look great, in Philly, not so much. Just like Stafford. LIke I said, guys you can win with, but not guys who'll make you a winner.

Goff isn’t garbage and Stafford isn’t Joe Montana.  McVay wanted to open his playbook and Stafford allows him to do that because Stafford is willing and capable to throw the ball anywhere on the field.  Goff either couldn’t or wouldn’t.    It comes down to McVay not liking him because he’s gutless, and far from the brightest QB.   Talent wise he’s ok, actually probably a very good backup.

No, it's laying rubber when it shift gears

100% agree with this.  The Eagles keep proving that the HC should not be the play caller.

I have been clamoring to draft defense for the last 4 years.  Yet we keep drafting wide receivers....Now look at where we are.

Ready to draft Olave?

I did hear on the Monday Night broadcast, I think, maybe somewhere else during the game, Devonta Smith is a good WR, but he needs a true #1 across from him.

Depends on who is calling the game, Nick, or Howie\Jeffrey.  Hard to believe Siriani is that dumb to not use the running game at all.

at best he spends way too much time with women who take money for sex acts to be held up as any kind of leader.

Don't ever meet your heroes, kid

Here's the weird thing about Stafford, he made one pro bowl, the year the Lions go 11-5, 85.7 QB rating, 47.3 QBR, maybe his worst season at QB. Go figure.

Stafford turned it around at 28, his 8th season.  Eli didn't put it together until his 5th season, at 27. Maybe strong arm QBs are a good buy after they flop to start their career?

I’m kind of looking forward to Andy Reid putting up 40+ points on Sunday. Such a great coach. Such pathetic BS he had to put up with for so many years.

I like Miles and would say he's probably our best player and most dynamic on offense.

I didn't want to believe it and thought it was ridiculous but maybe the higher powers are forcing the coaches to pass more than run.  I hope it isn't true but I'm starting to wonder.

You keep contradicting yourself.  Does talent make the QB, or does the situation ??

Not the QB's talent, the talent surrounding him.

I wish the reporters asked Sirianni if he's still doing the ass backwards call a play to the OC to have the OC call the play to Hurts. They should just Goff him and have Sirianni talking directly to Hurts telling him what the F to do each play.

AF, Stafford is clearly a better QB than Goff. C’mon.

How hard are you going to bash Hurts next offseason when the only way to defend the talent Howie has assembled on offense is to heave all the blame on Hurts?

Miles is his own worst enemy, as a rookie, he showed promise as a top 3 down back, last year he couldn't catch and couldn't pass block - and if you can't be trusted on pass plays, that kind of restricts the playbook when you're in the game. If he could earn more trust as a receiver and blocker, that would open more opportunities to run out of passing formations.. He's not the power runner you're gonna line up and pound with 20-25 times a game, so to be effective he needs to be able to force the defense to play honest.

Didn't I say that? I just don't think he's THAT much better, stronger arm but prone to mind farts.

In LA, if he's asked to do less, he may screwup less.

First of all, the pro bowl is a joke.  Second of all, he was a replacement player for Rodgers who did not play.

And not sure how you determined he "turned it around" at 28.  His 3rd worst QBR season was his age 30 season.  His 5th best QBR was his age 23 season.

Still wanting to know where you came up with your offensive PPG numbers ??  Can you provide a link ??  I posted a link showing that the Texans actually scored about 2 PPG less than what you posted, just want to compare notes.
